Welcome to Stoney Lonesome Retreat. Why Stoney Lonesome? Not entirely sure, you can blame it on my great grandfather, old Fredrick Richard August Christian Uhde. He named the property back in 1972 and the name has stuck!!! My parents Elward and Susan purchased our property in the summer of 1969 for $500 and we have been here ever since. My brother and I were raised here and now my wife Gretchen and I are so proud to be raising our son Simon here. The third generation on this land.

Welcome home! This is a 30 foot modern yurt set in the mountains surrounded by forest. We’ve thoughtfully created a space that is both modern yet still Montana. You’ll have access to amenities such as wifi, a plush king size bed, full kitchen and bathroom including a seasonal outdoor shower (May-November) and even a beautiful fire pit right outside the front door. Cross country skiing from cabin, many quiet lakes in the area, Murray Lake perfect for paddleboards. With downtown Whitefish so busy, you will enjoy the tranquility. Winter season is gorgeous! 4wd needed anywhere in Whitefish.
