They did a great job accommodating a relatively last-minute reservation. The house is just over a hill from the construction site for the new airport, so even though it's close you don't have any noise or ugly views. There are some restaurants/bars 10-15 minutes to the West in/near Calibishie. The best beach on the island (Batibou) is also close. However, other major sites are 45+ minutes away. It's a very quiet corner of Dominica.

Arnaud and Marica are particularly welcoming people and I loved my time in their apartment. The location is particularly peaceful by a beautiful river and the apartment is perfectly equipped. What a gem. Top air bnb stay for me. Stunning beauty, surrounded by nature with sounds images cannot depict. The house itself, is so creatively and solidly made. Close to lots of local attractions (falls/hikes/hots springs) and the capital Roseau is a short drive down the hill. I stayed in 4 different locations in Dominica and this was my favorite. A perfect place to meditate and connect with the earth. There seemed to be a magic in the air here as I was in sync with nature and everything seemed to just fall into place. Hard to explain- but if you are going to Dominica and even considering staying her. Do yourself the favor and stay here. Even though I did not get a chance to meet the hosts (I was only there 2 nights), they were communicative and directions/instructions were easy to follow. When I return to Dominica, I will return to this heavenly retreat!

OMG…where to start? Isha was one of the best host I’ve encountered. With all my travels there has been only one other person I would say that about. As soon as I walked into the place I felt at home! It was so beautiful. So nicely decorated. Usually I feel the need to clean or at least spray lysol, but not there. The whole place was spotless. And matched the pictures perfectly! It was so quiet and peaceful there. The mattress was so comfortable. I used the local bus to get there and it was very easy to find. The checkin instructions were the best I’ve ever gotten, so easy to get in. There is a very nice restaurant and market, within 1-2 minutes walk. I didn’t walk to the beach because I did a day tour, but I understand there is a nice one within a short walk. If I find I need a stay in Calibishie, this is where I will be staying.

Susanne's cottage was even more charming than the pictures in the listing. We were especially impressed with the simplicity and airiness of the place. Great ventilation and the ability to open the cottage up to nature or close it off as needed. Partial outdoor kitchen and wrap around porch with sea views was lovley. Wendy and Susanne were very responsive and hospitable hosts. This cottage is also very conveniently located to all things Calibishie and beyond.

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed! Stayed for four nights and enjoyed every second. The cottages are as advertised—located in the heart of the forest in a valley with a spectacular view of the Caribbean. David was himself a highlight of our trip. He’s a fantastic cook and was always willing to chat, share stories, and answer questions about Dominica. Based on our interest in local cuisine, David prepared a delicious local soup for our final night.

Amazing place!! We had the entire property to ourselves on this trip. You can walk right down to the beach (which we had to ourselves nearly the entire time) in about 5 minutes and see crabs along the way. Beds were comfy (yes, there IS a/c and fans in the bedrooms, but the living area is open air), the linens were soft, and the view was spectacular. The pool was refreshing, you could see stars on clear nights, and the grounds were gorgeous. Would definitely come again!
