House holiday rentals in Aubeterre-sur-Dronne

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

We had an incredible stay at this house. It was beautiful quiet and peaceful, the pool was perfect and the house was lovely. Mark was very responsive and provided us with lots of information about the local area. Would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay in Gaby’s gite! Beautiful decorated, good bed and bathroom, everything we needed was there. We thoroughly enjoyed the private patio which was very peaceful. The use of the beautiful pool area was also very relaxing! The dinner and breakfast Gaby made were delicious. We would like to come back some day to this amazing place!!

Our party (5 couples) stayed at the property looking for an authentic experience of French food and wine, and hoping for a bit of rustic luxury sprinkled on top and this place did not disappoint. Everyone was blown away by the house's beautiful interiors, exteriors and amazing views. The house had everything we needed (and more). We loved the large outdoor table where we could all sit comfortably for a social breakfast and enjoy the stunning vistas. The location of the house is superb, surrounded by beautiful views and very peaceful. The bike ride to St Emillion took us along quiet country roads, meandering past many exquisite chateaus and vineyards. Finally, special mention to our wonderful host Ellie who couldn't do enough for us. Great recommendations, excellent local knowledge, extremely helpful and thoughtful, super fast to respond to any messages, and really flexible and generous.

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour chez David et son épouse. Ça a été dur de partir ! Pour des jeunes parents, nous avons trouvé exactement ce que nous voulions : un lieu magnifique pour profiter avec nos enfants mais aussi en amoureux lors des siestes et du coucher. Les enfants ont adoré, il y a des jouets pour eux ce qui est trop rare ! Nous espérons revenir !

Honestly one of the most spectacular places I have ever stayed at we didn’t want to leave! Absolutely gorgeous and serene. There is a calmness to the area and everything in the house made it so easy. Our family had a magical time here and Jil was incredible. So helpful and kind. It was like visiting and staying at an old friend’s. The town was beautiful with very friendly people. Jil and Thomas have thought of everything you might need to the stereo system outside to the bbq and electric shutters for a perfect night sleep. We can’t wait to come back again and make it a tradition to stay here! 😍

Nous avons eu le plaisir de séjourner chez Anne et avons rencontré une hôte adorable, emplie de bonne humeur. Elle s’est assuré que nous ne manquions de rien pour notre séjour sans pour autant se montrer intrusive. Le logement est encore plus agréable en vrai qu’en photo, le calme la bas y est maître, vous trouverez de quoi vous occuper dans le logement ou bien les activités dans les environs ne manquent pas. Nous pensons déjà au moment où nous reviendrons.

Notre séjour a été très agréable, nous en gardons un excellent souvenir ! Aucune mauvaise surprise car tout était conforme aux descriptions et instructions ; au contraire, nous étions ravis de la qualité d'accueil proposée avec ce charmant logement, qui est joliment décoré et agencé, très bien équipé à tous niveaux (intérieur et extérieur). La literie est très confortable. Anne a été très réactive, et flexible sur notre horaire de départ. Tout était parfait !

Nos deux hôtes ont été extrêmement accueillants et sympathiques. La location est très agréable et cosy. La piscine couverte et chauffée ainsi que la salle de sport avec sauna sont un véritable atout. On recommande!

Que dire de plus que exceptionnelle ? Nous reviendrons très vite et pour plus longtemps. Service impeccable, communication simple, rapide et disponible. Nous nous sentons tellement bien dans ce logement ! Meilleure logement proche d'Angoulême qu'on a pu essayer.

Wij hebben het fantastisch gehad in deze ruime en sfeervolle boerderijwoning. Een geweldige locatie, heerlijk rustig en mooi gelegen. Genoten van de vogels en vlinders in de grote tuin. Echt een ideale plek om tot rust te komen. We werden hartelijk ontvangen door Anne, een ontzettend leuke en vriendelijke gastvrouw. Je voelt je hier meer dan welkom. Als het aan ons ligt komen we graag nog eens terug.

We absolutely loved our stay with John & Terry! We can't say enough about how kind they are, how lovely their place & property is- truly one of the best experiences we've had. They had amazing suggestions for us during our stay, and everything we could think of in the space. Our two kids were so sad to leave when it was time to checkout, they made us promise that we'll be back! Thank you so much, John & Terry- we look forward to our next visit! :)

We absolutely loved our stay! Debbie and Mark were the best hosts and left us with some fantastic recommendations on places to visit. The house was beautiful, clean, spacious and has a fantastic outside area with shady spots to sit in, a stunning pool with plenty of sun loungers. There was ample space for all of us, we loved the outdoor dining area. We can’t wait to come back and visit again soon!

We loved our holiday at Maison des Abeilles. We were there with our family, including 3 grandchildren aged 9, 7 and 5 months. The house is a good family house, comfortable, very well equipped and welcoming. The kitchen and bathrooms are a little dated but all is clean, the beds are very comfortable with nice linen. The two covered terraces, one facing east, the other west, with dining tables and chairs are great. The garden is spacious and private, the heated pool, approx 12x6m, is perfect. Nearby, beautiful Aubeterre sur Dronne is a lovely village. The local area is rural, unspoilt and very peaceful. We enjoyed some local walks from the house. There was an issue with the drains during our stay. Chris responded immediately and quickly arranged appropriate help. All was sorted quickly. We would happily return.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis pas Corinne qui a été très arrangeante pour que notre séjour avec notre bébé se passe au mieux. Le logement est très bien situé et très cosy. Je recommande

cadre bucolique incitant au repos, voir à la méditation. Endroit apaisant en pleine campagne avec seulement le bruit des oiseaux et de la roue du moulin qui tourne. Une petite visite du moulin serait un plus. Propriétaire accueillante et fort agréable. à recommander aux gens ayant besoin de décompresser. .

We had a wonderful week in St Quentin de Chalais. Pat and Yvonne gave us a very warm welcome to their beautiful farmhouse, along with a generous French welcome pack. The pool was fantastic, and the house and stunning location exceeded our expectations. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed, including a charcoal bbq which we enjoyed using, and our privacy was entirely respected, while we also felt our hosts were at hand to help should we have needed anything. Within 20 minutes of the rural location of the farmhouse are quite a few beautiful villages, with plenty of bakeries for your croissant and coffee every morning..Aubeterre, Chalais, Bonnes, St. Aulaye, La Roche Chalais, Ribérac. We have returned home refreshed with wonderful memories of a special week. Thank you.

Maison très agréable et idéalement située. Le jardin est paisible avec une jolie vue sur Aubeterre. La proximité immédiate avec le centre du village est très appréciable. Enfin, la communication avec Hélène Marie a été facile.

Tout était parfait, du logement aux équipements partagés. La nature environnante est très belle et apaisante. Nous avons adoré notre séjour. Merci à toute la famille !

Our stay here was wonderful. The house is roomy, nicely decorated and quite new. There is a very large laundry with washing machine and drying racks (no dryer), a large kitchen and meals area, two large bedrooms and a large outdoor area. The air conditioning is efficient and there is another air conditioning unit in the loft bedroom. The bedrooms have shutters to keep out the light and the beds and pillows are comfy. The TV is a smart TV and there are wineries everywhere in the area. As others have mentioned, there isn’t a toilet in the upstairs bathroom. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are narrow and steep and this may pose a problem if you need a toilet in the middle of the night. Also, as the apartment is a little remote and has numerous windows at ground level, one may feel exposed. The windows are double glazed and the lock is strong but we closed the driveway gate to feel more secure. It was quiet and peaceful and we loved our stay.
