Our family of 4 had a perfect stay at Caxton Cottage! It was cosy, charming and extremely clean. Kay was super helpful, responsive and provided us with all the essential information we needed. I can’t recommend Will and Giles’ place enough. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. The information sent prior to arrival was brilliant, the cottage was much bigger than we expected and it’s in an amazing location right by Coniston. The place was spotless and had some lovely touches. We will be back!

An amazing place to stay and the village is really nice. It’s not far away from things to do such as Scafell Pike, and the lakes. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to be in the countryside.

The venue is stunning, the photos do not do it justice! Everyone has everything the need in each room with their own en suite and the grandness of the building is something else! You have so much space, the large garden area wraps around back and side and is beautiful with stunning views! Everything you could need in the kitchen and welcome bottle very kindly provided by our hosts! Plenty of entertainment and eating areas! When leaving one of our cars broke down and they were very understanding and accommodating! Perfect location, made our stay extra special!

A well loved and super clean cottage in a surprisingly quiet part of Arnside. The garden is a little gem after a long day out in good weather. Thoroughly recommend and friends say I’m pretty fussy.

Perfect location. 10/10. I did not want to leave. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, unbelievable views, superb location, easy access to logs for fire with which my husband was delighted. 100% would return... tomorrow if it was possible! Our dog (border terrier) had a fantastic time too and was very interested in the wee hedgehog who appeared to be living in the bushes outside and the free range chickens!! There was also a free range doggo popping round to the garden in the evening. Vigilance/ Lead/ supervision was a must for our super inquisitive pup.

What a fantastic property and garden in such a quiet, lovely neighbourhood yet only 5 minutes’ walk to Bowness on Windermere shops and eating places, a few minutes further walk takes you to the lake and ferry terminal. The property was warm and homely, yet everything was pristine, all the rooms were immaculate, the kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, with plenty of utensils and cooking equipment, spotlessly clean. The ensuite bedrooms were beautiful as were the bathrooms. It has a huge driveway and great enclosed back garden with firepit and Weber BBQ, lots of seating, pity we were not able to take advantage of this due to the weather. The garden was very safe and enclosed for our dogs. We were able to adjust the heating temperature to suit, we really appreciated. Otto was fantastic and responded immediately to any queries before and during our holiday, as well as being pro-active from booking and throughout our week’s holiday. Thanks to the housekeeper who is doing a wonderful job.

Amazing kitchen we both loved cooking in our tapas meal in it. It was great to have a selection of herbs and spices already in the kitchen. Everything clean and tidy . Wonderful place to stay and hope to come back soon :). Hope you have good clutch control getting out the drive way aha. Thank you for having us

We stayed at Simon and Belinda's place for a week and it was exactly what we needed. Fantastic location for walks and food. The Wainwright's Inn is only 0.2 miles away. Great food and local ales on your doorstep. The cottage is cosy, the kitchen is well equipped and the information provided was very thorough and useful. There are some books in the house they have prepared to show various walks and local recommendations. We did some of these walks and our 5 year old enjoyed every second! We took advantage of the leisure facilities at The Langdale. This was a great addition to the cottage! Really recommend if you want a place near to town locations, walks and local pubs/cafés/restaurants.

Really enjoyed our stay, we were celebrating my Mother’s 90th birthday and had other family members staying in other lodges around the park. Beautiful scenery and great location. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

Beautiful caravan super spacious and clean. Fantastic location close to moorcombe bay. Lisa was extremely helpful from booking to checkout would defiantly recommend and stay again.

We had a wonderful 5 day stay! The caravan was perfect for our family of four (plus our dog) — cozy, spacious, and full of thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. What really stood out was the incredible attention to detail, especially for our pup — treats, a towel, and even a blanket were waiting for her. It was so heartwarming and showed how much care went into everything. Our host was amazing — Sam sent us great recommendations in advance for places to eat and things to do, which made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. The fresh flowers and duck food left for us were such a lovely surprise — it truly felt like a personal and welcoming experience. We’re so grateful and would absolutely love to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, pet-friendly getaway!

Charming and full of character, with fabulous pool and hot tub. Loved our stay with family. Granddaughter filled with excitement throughout our stay.

Had a great stay, Emma was a great host. Cottage clean and very well equipped. Loved sitting out watching the world go by, getting a visit from the chickens and a couple of wandering sheep. Spectacular views in every direction. Just a short drive to Ulverston to shops, pubs and take aways. Loved it.

We enjoyed a fantastic couple of days stay at Scott’s place which is perfectly placed in the middle of the beautiful village square in Cartmel so that everything is within easy walking distance. The apartment was immaculate and we (and Freddie the dog) loved it - it had everything needed and some lovely touches like dog treats, biscuits etc and tea/coffee and Scott even asked for milk preference and provided oat milk for us! Scott’s instructions and communication were excellent and parking etc was well explained. Overall a fantastic stay with a great host and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and stay again

Amazing few days away! Easy check in via lockbox, into a lovely, clean place, in a nice quiet location. Our host was very communicative, and helpful leading up to and throughout our stay - especially when suggesting local walks etc. The kids loved it too! Will be going back 😊.

The cottage was stunning and in a beautiful setting, ideally located for getting to and around the lake. Highly recommend for a family get away for beautiful scenery and tranquility.

Had a lovely stay at the Fell View cottage. It was exactly what we needed. A private family retreat surrounded by stunning views. The cottage felt right at home with comfy beds and everything one could ask for. Highly recommended if you are after a break from the noise of city life or even if just visiting the area. Will definitely come again.

I stayed at Helen’s cottage with my daughter; we’ve both had a lot going on lately so really needed a break and that’s what we got. The cottage was outstanding, Helen thought of literally everything, even leaving a bottle of chilled Prosecco, some bread, tea, coffee, milk, butter and jam. When I said we were mother and daughter, she even made up the sofa bed for us. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this peaceful little hideaway and its kind and generous host.

A charming, well-equipped cottage in a beautifully quiet location. The kitchen had everything we needed, the oven worked well, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The scenery was stunning – we even spotted a deer right outside the window. It’s less than 10 minutes’ drive to the centre of Bowness, but do note the drive up and down to the property is quite rough. It’s not far, just very bumpy – manageable but a bit tiresome in a saloon car. A 4x4 would be better suited. Perfect if you’re after peace and tranquillity. However, our two young children (5 and 8) found it a bit tricky due to the number of spiders and moths in the property – something to consider if your kids aren’t fans of bugs.
