Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Bakewell

A beautifully designed house! Even better than the pictures and perfectly located. Tasteful decor and well equipped home meant this was a perfect stay for our birthday weekend away! We’d happily come and stay again!

The showers (which is what you’ve actually came to read the reviews for) were top-notch—powerful, hot, and exactly what you need after a long day of exploring. Beyond that, the accommodation exceeded all expectations. It was even more spacious than the photos suggested, set within beautiful grounds that provided plenty of room to unwind. The location was ideal, with easy access to stunning walks and local attractions. Oliver was an outstanding host, always quick to respond and incredibly accommodating with all my messages. His attentiveness made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located getaway in the Peak District!

Myself, my partner and our dog had a wonderful few days at Bridgefoot cottage, the photos don't do it justice is is bigger than it looks and so cosy. the garden is such a gem our dog loved it, fully enclosed and the hot tub was perfect after a long walk in the morning. Cottage itself was pristine, full of character and had everything we needed so we didn't need to contact the host for anything additional but I'm sure he would have been quick to help if we needed it. We cooked most nights but did order from the Indian (menu in the welcome book) which was a lovely change, we also walked into Calver and had some cake from the cafe there next to the Spar shop which was delicious. Great location with lots of beautiful walks nearby, one starting over the bridge and another if you turn left out of the cottage and continue down the lane you will pass through sheep fields and find yourself at Froggat woods. It truly felt like a home away from home and we would love to return in the future

Richard's place has a lovely blend of feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere yet being only a 15 drive into thriving Buxton. It was warm, comfortable and a great size for a family get-together, with some amazing walks literally on your doorstep. We can all genuinely say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Hannah's place was one of my favourite Airbnbs of all time - the space, decor, amenities and all the little touches were just fantastic. The location is perfect and access to everything the Peak District has to offer could not be better. Offstreet parking was super convenient. The place was spotless clean. Hannah was a lovely, kind and very helpful host. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a lovely weekend stay in Baslow with our 3 year old son. The house was clean, cosy and felt really homely – perfect for our little family getaway. Kirstie was a fantastic host, super helpful with recommendations on local walks, places to eat, and things to do in the area. The welcome hamper and thoughtful essentials were a really nice touch and much appreciated. We’d happily stay again, thank you!

Beautiful location no problems everything you need loved our stay

I booked this stay for my mum and partner who were over the moon with their time spent here. They came back and told me they thought it was such a beautiful accommodation, with stunning surroundings. Perfect for find a little respite, peace and quiet. They were delighted with how much was provided at the accommodation, Sarah had thought of everything. They felt incredibly welcome and throughly enjoyed their stay, they’d definitely return! Thank you Sarah for providing such a lovely home for their stay!

A lovely apartment right in the centre of Castleton, close to pubs and right next to a great coffee shop. We loved the decor of the apartment and it was very restful and cool, in the current hot weather. There is not outside space, so you have to find a local pub garden to sit in at the end of the day, for a sundowner!

This was an absolutely gorgeous place to stay, very clean. Felt very homely and nice to relax. Fab little outside area to relax in. Lovely comfortable beds, nice little touches left by Nick, we really appreciated the bread and condiments. Nick was very helpful and we would love to stay again if the chance ever arises. Thank you!

I had an absolute incredible experience at Denise’s place, from the moment I arrived, everything was spotless, stylish and thoughtfully prepared. Check-in was easy. The space itself was better than the photos- beautifully decorated and cozy. The bed was super comfy and I appreciated all the little touches that made it feel homely. I couldn’t ask for a better experience and would certainly return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this little gem for anyone visiting the area.

Super comfortable apartment, lovely beds and sofas. All the amenities you need, even tea coffee sugar and milk :) we would definitely stay again

We were visiting Buxton for 2 shows at the Opera House & the apartment is perfectly placed for this, being just a few minutes walk away, also the Pavilion Gardens and loads of places to eat & drink. Apartment is beautifully furnished and very well-equipped with pretty, sunny little cottage-style garden to front. The main bedroom is lovely, really comfortable bed. Our friend stayed in the basement bedroom and did comment that it was cold BUT he was very warm and comfortable once in bed. Wish we had stayed longer, if only to take advantage of the huge selection of dvds and books 😊. Thankyou, Heather, Kim and Lorna for a really great (too short) stay.

Had a great time , my son and I were fishing the River Wye , and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My only caveat is the parking problem . As we were out all day we had to find a space each evening.

Had an amazing time at Holmdene in the Peak District. was perfectly located for all the walking and trips/tours we wanted to do in Castleton. Charlotte & Stuart were wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly on arrival and Charlotte gave us a detailed chat on all the walks we could do tho we didn't get to experience all of them in our short stay due to weather. We had a lovely evening in the pod with friends and we felt very at home in the apartment which was spotless and well equipped for all our needs and we would highly recommend Holmdene to anyone looking to stay in Castleton. we will definitely be back for more visits. After reading all of the positive reviews. I can clarify they’re all spot on. Stayed at the annex over the bank holiday weekend for three nights. Definitely going to book again if available. Sarah and Peter are so friendly and accommodating. Many thanks. Hoping to see you soon
