Our warm and welcoming cottage, boasts an original inglenook fireplace with solid fuel burning stove and exposed stone. The walls are at least one meter thick and the cottage predates the Irish famine.
“We are back from a fantastic stay at Aislings cottage. It was exactly as described but better in real life. It’s by no means in the centre of Baltimore but was never advertised as that and because of the location we benefited from the beautiful spacious gardens, peace and quiet and views. Aisling and her husband gave us so much information on what to do. Not the usual, run of the mill stuff, but specifically what would be suitable for our 18month daughter, what would be good for the weather that day etc. The cottage had everything we needed and even though it’s old (and that’s part of the charm) it was still really warm and had all the amenities (electric shower, sky channels etc). The beautiful Labrador dog that lives near the property was a total bonus and hit with our daughter. We hope to return again.”
Beautiful wooden chalet overlooking Bantry Bay on the Sheeps Head. Within 2 miles of the town centre and all its amenities. Designed for people craving an idyllic setting to relax in peace, but close enough to all the attractions Bantry has to offer. We pride ourselves on providing a genuine and thoughtful experience for our guests.
“We had an amazing 7 night stay in Irene & Bean's gorgeous cabin. The location was perfect and the views were stunning. Irene & Bean had lots of tips on what to do and where to eat nearby. Our kids loved their time there too. Irene & Bean's kids were a similar age and they became friends straight away. Our kids were heartbroken having to leave their new pals and all the pets, but hopefully we'll be back again soon. Thanks again for all your generosity and for making it such an enjoyable break.”
Our place is off the beaten path near the stunning Wild Atlantic Way route. Secluded and tranquil Mt Kid. 90 minutes from Cork Airport and 2 hours west of Cork city, 15 min fro Ballydehob. Surrounded by working farms on 4 acres; an oasis of trees and home to a variety of bird life. Comfy bed with quality bedding. Mt Kid Cottage is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families and pets. We don’t do breakfast as such but provide you with some breakfast items.
“When booking Patricia's Place in advance, you will be required to confirm a stay of at least two nights. Well, as soon as you arrive you'll discover why even two nights is not enough - it certainly wasn't for us. Patricia's Place is a cozy couple's retreat and the love which has been invested in it by Patti and Chris is highlighted by every little detail and feature from the hot-tub fixtures to the panoramic bedroom view (ideal for a telescope) and among the delightful nooks and crannies that fill this wonderful holiday home. We've stayed in a few excellent holiday homes and glamping pods around the south of Ireland, but Patricia's Place is our clear favourite. It's tucked in the hills that overlook the stunning Baltimore Harbour; Ballydehob is approximately 10km away, and Skibbereen is also nearby. All nearby towns have places to eat-in or take-out (and Cork is renowned for its excellent food), but of course, if you're in the mood for preparing your own meal, you'll find everything you need in the holiday home itself. You'll probably be driving if you're staying here, and there is plenty of room to park just outside the door. All the amenities you would expect are available (fridge, hob, oven, microwave, TV, DVD player... to name a few). There's also a wonderful hot-tub area, and sauna just outside the door - with a fantastic sound system and lighting. Inside, there's a conservatory, perfect for relaxing. However, we were amazed by the upstairs bedroom and lounge area with its panoramic view, where we spent much of the day reading and relaxing. There is a quality to everything here. The hosts, Patti and Chris, are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our quiet, relaxing break here alone, although, if it wasn't for the coronavirus pandemic, we likely would have socialised a little bit more with our hosts. Speaking of the pandemic, if this is a concern during the period of which you are planning to stay, don't worry too much about it here. Everything is clean, neat and tidy, particularly with covid in mind, as Patti reassured us during our visit. You might also like to download the HSE's COVID-19 tracker app for extra peace of mind. If you plan on bringing the kids along, it's recommended that they're at least over 5 years of age. However, Patricia's Place is really an ideal retreat for couples, so that's worth keeping in mind. The home has so much character - we were in love with it immediately, and we're looking forward to visiting again when we get the chance. If you're looking for some relaxing time away, don't hesitate to book this location, you won't be disappointed!”
