“During the pandemic that is Covid19, Pete and Anna welcomed us when others wouldn’t. Having two days to unplugged, unwind and enjoy what County Donegal has to offer was spectacular. The space was everything advertised and more! When the world heals, we will be back!”

“We have stayed in Donegal many times over the course of 30+ years and this is by far the best place either of us has ever stayed. Anna and Pete are the perfect hosts; enthusiastic, warm and friendly. The wood burning stove was lit before our arrival, so the cottage was cosy, even in 2 degrees! The cottage exceeded all of our expectations; far bigger than it seemed from the pictures, super cosy, spotlessly clean and full of character. The views from the cottage are incredible, even with snow, storms, hailstones, and lightening! We loved staying here, cooking, listening to music, drinking wine, taking drives to spectacular wild beaches, and enjoying watching the ever changing weather from the comfort of this cosy little cottage. We will definitely be back.”
This hexagon hut is situated on its own on land that is half orchard half woodland, 5 Km from Westport. It gives a nice view over the natural environment with wild life and low key farming. A few goats and a few hens roam in the adjoining field.
“The Cuckoo Nest is a liitle Gem of a Place nestled away into the Side of a Hill, away from everything and yet only 5kms away from the goregous town of Westport. It's located off the Loiusborogh Road, which is one of the main road you would Travel to get to Croagh Patrick. So views of this Sacred Mountain can be enjoyed from this Accomdation.Irma recommended a goregous 1hr loop walk on our arrival ,that you can take and obviously the views are even better. We were very fortunate as on the afternoon of our Arrival to the Cuckoo Nest,we got splendid Summery Weather that day, which made everything look so amazing. Later that evening we drove to Bertra Strand (8miles or so) goregous beach to walk with the beautiful sights of Croagh Patrick on our other side. We had great light up to 11.15pm & the place was paradise for any photographer, be they be novices or professionals. Off Course we are novices but I swear the pictures we took, look like Professional😊😊😊.The whole area within an 1 hour drive,in any direction, just provided amazing Scenary. As for the accomadation, just one thing to be mindful of,the kitchen facilities are very compact and are more than adequate but just ensure to buy more compact packaging, espically for the Refrigerator,as it's probably not a whole pile bigger than a Refrigerator that comes with your Standard Bedroom in a Hotel. Wi-Fi worked perfectly without any issues and as for the peace and Tranquillity,it just has to be experienced to fully understand what a Great option it is to stay at the Cuckoo Nest. The place was spotless on our Arrival and we had no issues throughout our stay. Thanks to Irma our Superhost for her vision, creation and for providing a diverse solution for accommodation and allowing us the opportunity to spending Quality time in Co.Mayo. We highly recommend this place and would love to go back again soon. Cheers Marguerite & Tom”
