This neighborhood is the oldest, truest, most vivid and original and one of the most typical of Lisbon. Alfama is like a small village in the center of a great metropolis where people meet and greet every day there is a great complicity between neighbors It is housed in an old building but completely renovated at the end of 2011, retaining some features of the original house and full of the spirit that breathes in the area of Lisbon. Is remodeled and decorated with every comfort and an environment full of eclectic and alternative to a vacation where the knowledge and the rest is the watchword. Every detail has been designed with much love and an unforgettable stay with a unique style. The "The Window to the Sun" has the capacity for 3 people. Very sunny comprises a living room with kitchenette, equipped with all the utensils to prepare meals with you if you were at home. The master bedroom and a bathroom. Towels and bed linen are included. "The Window to the Sun" is prepared to give you a pleasant and full of comfort ... If you need a crib this will also be provided at no extra cost. "The Window to the Sun" is located very close to the viewpoint of the Portas do Sol, the Castelo de São Jorge, the Pantheon, the Fado Museum, getting a few meters of transport, shops, cafes, restaurants, fado houses, bars, flea market, museums, art galleries, craft shops ... is in the center of your stay perfect. Perfect location to explore without needing a car! Just steps away, you'll find supermarkets, bakeries, cafes, restaurants, and parks. Walk to the river beach or enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Lisbon along the riverside where you find also nice restaurants and bars. Barreiro has excellent transportation: in 18 minutes by boat you can reach downtown Lisbon, and by train, Setúbal in 28 minutes or Évora in 1 hour. Both stations are also just a short walk away (boat: 20 min / train: 10 min).

Very well located as a starting point for trips to Lisbon or the surrounding area. Buses and trains can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Also shops are in the immediate vicinity and in Rua Cândida dos Reis, which leads to the ferry port, there are some very nice restaurants/cafes. The place is very clean and very tastefully decorated and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need and don't necessarily want to take with you when traveling (iron/small ironing board, for example😅). John Nicolas is a very nice and helpful host who responds quickly to any questions that come up. The most beautiful addition for me in Almada - be sure to go to the River Garden at sunset and enjoy the great views of Lisbon, Ponte 25 de Abril and Cristo Rei.

I was sent instructions for how to check in, which was really helpful. My room was great, really clean and had everything I could possibly need. I even received a fan for the hot weather. The bathroom was also cleaned every day which was really nice. The host was really friendly and let me know I could tell her if I needed anything. And lastly, it was very easy to get to central Lisbon by either bus (station was only a few min away) or by Uber/bolt. I was staying during the Santo Antônio festival and felt safe even when coming home at night.

A kind and very responsive host, right in the heart of Lisbon. We were well taken care of. Beautiful view. A bit noisy as you would expect on a Friday night in a room facing the street. Though very doable. Sharing bathroom was relaxed and easy. Everything was clean.

Wilfried’s flat was honestly so gorgeous. Tastefully decorated and so traditional we loved it. The room was bigger than anticipated and the bed so comfy. The bed sheets also felt premium. We absolutely loved some of the little touches like the Ginjinha and bar of soap was nice. Also in the bathroom there was shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, cotton pads etc. Whilst it is an old fashioned flat it was spotlessly clean. Eugenia who greeted us upon arrival was so sweet too. There was another guest staying at the same time as us in the other room but we never bumped into them / heard them. Whilst we did read reviews we still proceeded to lift a 26kg suitcase up the 3 flights of stairs 😂 Location was perfect for us, quiet and local-ers type vibe. In the kitchen you have access to the washing machine if needed. There was also a fantastic tea selection which we took advantage of and a gorgeous view from the kitchen window looking out at the sea. We cannot recommend this place enough!

Muriel is a wonderful kind woman and I felt right at home in her house. She is just lovely and helpful and her apartment is tastefully decorated, the bed is comfortable and its quiet at night. I will definitely come back and stay again. I highly recommend a stay with Muriel.
