Apartments are beautiful, large, and in a great location - we really loved our stay and would absolutely recommend this place to friends! Things to know: the two floors are totally separate apartments; they are pretty anonymous rental flats in terms of what to expect in the kitchen; we experienced some cultural differences around checkout and other communication, but no major issues; the offered airport pickup required that we wait around the airport for about 40 minutes but was otherwise easy

Awesome location! So many food options available within a walkable distance. Close to the metro for easy access to see the attractions like spice bazaar , Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Upstairs gathering space on the roof was perfect hanging out together. Hosts are always available with a quick response to any questions. Loved it! Perfect place to stay for our family vacation!

Unsere Reise und Aufenthalt in der Wohnung war ausgezeichnet. Die Wohnung war in einem Top sauberen und gepflegten Zustand, traumhafter, unvergesslicher und wunderschöner, vor allem abends/nachts, Ausblick von der Dachterrasse aus. Die 4 Etagen Treppen hoch, hat sich jedes Mal gelohnt. Die Wohnung liegt sehr ruhig und doch ist man eine Straße weiter mitten im Geschehen, tolle Lokale, sehr gutes Essen, vieles fußläufig erreichbar und abends bis zur späten Stunde tolle Musikbars. Einfach Klasse und empfehlenswert. Herr Dehan hat von der ersten Kontaktaufnahme bis zum Abschied seine authentische Gastfreundschaft, Hilfsbereitschaft und Unterstützung gezeigt und war uns gegenüber sehr entgegenkommend und sehr behilflich gewesen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und bei Fragen sehr sicher gefühlt. Herzlichsten Dank dafür Herr Dehan. Wir hoffen, dass wir uns sehr bald wiedersehen können!! Viele Grüße Alper & Anna & Batu & Talu

We visited as a family with two small kids and had a fantastic 5-day stay. The neighborhood is vibrant, authentic, and full of heart, with great shops and restaurants to explore daily. The house was spacious — more than we needed, as we didn’t use the downstairs apartment — but very comfortable, especially for the kids. Getting around was easy with the Istanbulkart; tram line 5 and bus 55 are just a short walk away. We cooked a few times and found the kitchen workable (cooking with gas), though some utensils were a bit worn and basic items like salt and pepper would’ve been helpful. Still, these were minor things. We’d happily return to Balat and to Ömer’s house. To really enjoy it, I’d recommend staying at least 4–5 days.

If you plan to visit the historic sites in Istanbul, Giorgio’s place should be first on your list of places to look at. Located within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, the Palace, the Grand Bazaar and more, Giorgio’s apartment was an ideal spot for what we wanted to see in Istanbul. The apartment was clean, the bedrooms spacious and the hosts were super responsive. Communication was quick and helpful. The airport transfers for three day stays and longer made check in a breeze. And Giorgio arranged for return transfers to the airport (for a fee). This made checking out a breeze. There is a fantastic restaurant 10 meters from the front door (Begonville Cafe) where the workers treat you like family. Overall, our visit to Istanbul was stress free in part due to Giorgio’s apartment. We had a great experience and would recommend anyone to stay at Giorgio’s place.

Our family of 9 loved this place with its 5 bedrooms on 3 floors, 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms and a sunny balcony on 2nd floor off the sitting room. well equipped kitchens, not that we cooked much, with the lovely local cheap restaurants 50 metres down the road. beds all comfortable, aircon and hot water worked well. We got fit going up and down the spiral wooden stair case, we ranged in age from 5 to 70, so had to make sure the smaller kids took care near/on stairs. As the oldest person I got the top floor to myself so just made sure I only went up and down once a day-so was organised or got younger ones to fetch things. Its a lively street,.with local kids playing out till late, lots of cats, baby gulls on the opposite roof. Lovely shops and the coloured houses just round the corner. it was quiet at night, the rooms had good double glazing.Some people on right of house heard the 4.30am call to prayer from nearby mosque, so take ear plugs if a lighter sleeper. It was the best Airbnb ever!

Le séjour chez Okan était vraiment super. Le logement était super propre, rien à redire. Les bus étaient à 4 minutes à pied, ce qui nous permettait de nous déplacer facilement dans la ville.

Great place. Worked really well for two couples. It was like having two apartments. Very well located, fun neighbourhood and very easy to get places. Enjoyed very much, thanks guys!

This was a great place in a great location. The neighborhood lost power and water for a couple of days, and O delivered us enough water to get through it. I'd definitely stay here again.

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour ! La localisation est idéal pour les transports, nous n’avons utilisé que le bateau toute la semaine ! La gare étant à 5 minutes c’était un vrai bonheur ! Logement propre et calme, avec une vue magnifique sur le Bosphore. Dès le premier soir nous avons été chaleureusement accueilli, Server nous a invité à boire le thé et à manger les Baklava fait par sa maman <3 La quartier est animée mais cela ne se ressent pas dans le logement, il y a tout ce qu’il faut à proximité, des petits cafés pour le petit déjeuner, aux restaurants pour tout les goûts ! Nous recommandons vivement !

Uygar was a fantastic host, very helpful and quick to respond. The apartment is located in the center of a cultural area of Istanbul, close to a market and excellent dining options. Within the area, you can move around without a car. If you drive, there's a reasonably priced parking lot two minutes' walk from the building; you can pay up to c. $15 for 24-hour parking. If you don't have a lot of or heavy luggage, this duplex two-bedroom flat on the third level is ideal. If I were to return to Istanbul, I would stay there once more. Many thanks, Uygar

El apartamento estaba muy lindo, tal como en las fotos y ubicado en un vecindario tranquilo, con paradas de bus cerca. Burak estuvo atento con prontitud a todos nuestros requerimientos.

Tek kelimeyle harika :) cok guzel bir konaklama deneyimiydi. Ev fotograflarda gorundugu gibiydi, her sey temiz ve duzenliydi. Konum olarak tum ihtiyaclarimizi karsiladi. Kesinlikle bir sonraki seyahatimde de tercih edecegime eminim, her sey icin cok tesekkurler :)

Gerçekten tek kelime ile inanılmaz bir yer . Ev harikaydı beklediğimizden çok daha büyük ve bütün eşyalar yeni . Tv , internet Herşey sorunsuz çalışıyor . Yatak o kadar rahattı ki Burak’a nereden aldığını sordum 😊 Ev sahibi Burak tam bir yaşayan efsane . Ne zaman mesaj atsam saniyesinde cevap veriyor ve sürekli bana 24 saat mesaj atabilirsin veya arayabilirsin diyordu. Ayrıca Burak’ın lobi katında bir marketi var . Bu market hem fiyatları iyi hemde Herşey mevcut . Bu adam bir efsane gerçekten sana teşekkürler Burak mutlaka geri geleceğim.

Unser Aufenthalt war super…einziges Manko war die riesengroße Baustelle…was uns leider etwas eingeschränkt hat…da wir mit dem Kinderwagen unterwegs waren…

Dilek's place was modern and beautiful with many amenities and we enjoyed our stay. The only thing we found uncomfortable was that the smaller of the two bedrooms was hot and it did not have AC. The larger bedroom and the living room did have AC. We thought to open the window but the window faced the hallway inside the building. Overall it was a great modern apartment and we were happy with our decision to stay there. Dilek was easy to reach and responsive. thank you Dilek!

Lovely district with many good bars and restaurants. Very clean flat with comfortable bed and sofa in the living room. Great view from the roof terrace. A fantastic option in Cihangir district.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Istanbul dans cet appartement situé à Beyoğlu, à deux pas de la tour de Galata. L'appartement est très propre, récemment rénové, calme, et parfaitement équipé. Il dispose d’une chambre séparée avec un matelas très confortable, idéal pour bien se reposer après une journée de visite. L’hôte, Ram ou Karim, est extrêmement disponible et attentionné. Ils savent vraiment accueillir : eau en bouteille en quantité, papier toilette, tout est prévu, rien ne manque. La localisation est exceptionnelle : à 2 minutes de l’avenue Istiklal, la plus commerçante d’Istanbul, avec de nombreuses bonnes affaires (bien moins chères qu’à Paris !), tout en étant à l’écart du bruit. À proximité immédiate aussi du tunnel pour rejoindre le pont de Galata, du tramway pour accéder à la vieille ville, et à quelques minutes de Şişli. C’est, sans aucun doute, l’un des meilleurs emplacements pour découvrir Istanbul. Je recommande vivement ! Brunet Jean Claude et Isabelle Mai 2

Hasan was very warm and welcoming throughout. I could easily message him any time of the day and he would help out immediately. Once at midnight, I had accidentally dropped my keys between the elevator shaft and Hasan was immediately ready to come to the rescue. Very helpful, responsive. Would highly recommend staying here especially when here for work or longer durations

From offering local tips to making sure I was comfortable, their hospitality made all the difference. I felt well taken care of throughout my entire stay. The apartment was well-stocked with everything from fresh towels to a fully equipped kitchen, which made it easy to feel at home. The Wi-Fi was fast, and the place was peaceful and quiet—ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay if you want an authentic feel in a local neighbourhood which is walkable to main sights. The apartment itself is beautiful, very clean, and has a warm, welcoming feel. Benny was an exceptional host -thoughtful, responsive, and incredibly helpful. Before we arrived, I asked about doing some laundry and he kindly picked up washing powder for us without even being asked. The fridge was stocked with water, which was a lovely touch. The neighborhood, while a little run-down in parts, felt deeply local and gave us the rare opportunity to experience the real Istanbul, away from the busy tourist spots. It was peaceful and quiet during the day, yet just a short walk or quick taxi ride from the bustling markets, main attractions, and business districts. Benny’s local guide was a great read, full of interesting recommendations. We were able to walk to most places, and when needed, local taxis were easy to use—just make sure the driver turns on the meter before you go.
