Hello and welcome to Bluebird Cottage. We are located 1 mile up a dirt road in the Isabella Highlands overlooking Lake Isabella. Our road is bumpy in and steep in areas, but we have never had a guest not make it up here. This cottage is private, even though it is next to our residence. It has a 6' privacy fence. Once inside the gate,you are met with beautiful landscaping and a view of Lake Isabella and the surrounding mountains that are well worth the drive.The cottage is set for 1-2 adults.

Great halfway stopping point between Death Valley and Yosemite. Perfect for traveling nurses, hospital is less than two miles away. Nature trails right out the back door. This rustic bungalow was built during the Kern County mid-century modern architectural boom of the 1960's, with the most well known being the Frank Lloyd Wright Albin Residence in Bakersfield. Design-wise, this translated into homes that emphasized geometrical forms, angular features, and large windows to help bring the outdoors inside. Located only 10 minutes to Miracle Hot Springs and the Kern River, come enjoy the serenity this architectural marvel has to offer!

Come enjoy mountain living without sacrificing comfort. With the lake just a few minutes drive away, water activities are abundant. Kernville is a short drive away offering activities including white water rafting, fly fishing, kayaking and more! You’ll love the quiet area away from the crowds yet close to shopping. Please note: This unit is a kitchenette so there is no stove. We have recently added a futon for an extra sleeping area. It is most comfortable for one but can sleep two people.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil get away. 50 acres of private land and adventure. Great for horses, hiking, or exploring the local gold mines. Kern River and Lake Isabella 15 to 30 minutes away for all the water fun you could want. Nothing beats morning coffee on the patio overlooking the lake and city below, and evening star gazing or deer watching can end each day with a rare treat. Horses and pigs will love treats and you can pre arrange a ride for only $40 extra.
