Duffield home in beautiful setting

You’ll love my place because it’s 5 mins walk to the centre of Duffield with its pubs & shops & 10 min train or bus into Derby or Matlock. A 30 min drive to Ashbourne & Wirksworth. The house is being renovated so is a little hectic but these rooms are in a separate annex & although not perfect are comfy. Its good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families &pets. We have a dog, cat & children & welcome those with or without.

We had a lovely two night stay in the ‘purple room’ and had everything that we needed. David and Justine were fantastic hosts and the information that we received prior to our arrival was incredibly helpful and made getting access to the room etc..extremely easy. We needed to get a cab one night to a wedding reception that we were attending nearby and again, the hosts quickly advised us of a cab company and number. Breakfast was super…..fresh bread for toasting, fresh fruit, juice and yoghurts!! Just a little note from hubby….please can we have Earl Grey tea next time. Super location too…. numerous places to eat on the main street and again, all of this was provided beforehand so that we could book a table in advance if we wanted to. Bakewell is well worth a visit (40 minutes away) and Denby Pottery Centre (15 mins).

we would strongly recommend monks loft to friends and family we stayed in lots of accommodation this was amazing Helen kept us informed from booking to arriving as we had just landed at East Midlands Airport a shower and bed for a few hours before the going to a wedding in the evening and tea coffee and milk as well come plus the snacks and treats Helen left for us was nice gesture once again thank you Helen

Mary gave me a lovely, warm, friendly welcome and made me feel at home instantly. My stay was was cosy and comfortable. Mary was generous and thoughtful in offering all kinds of choices of tea and coffee. Parking was easy, right outside the house, which further added to the ease of my stay. Thank you Mary!
