We feel that the best way to describe our getaway to be “Rustic Elegance”. When you walk through the door you will instantly feel the warmth of a uniquely styled Adirondack cottage. Located nearby to the Acadia Highway (aka Route 1), we are close by to historic Fort Knox, Castine, and Acadia. Patrick's place was the "icing on the cake" of my 12 day trip thru Maine! I drove the back roads and byways and I could not have been more welcomed and the accommodations were perfect. Out of the way and beautiful surroundings but close to Bangor with out the hectic pace. Patrick supplied a detailed list of what to do and where to go. Branch Lake State Park was not on my list but, mentioned in their welcoming packet and it was awesome. All the amenities were much appreciated. I would highly recommend this place if you like the quiet.

"The Last Resort" Cozy, comfortable cabin

The minute we walked in we felt at home! Sonya was super responsive and friendly, we got right in with no problem. The location was easy to find, and despite having houses nearby it felt very private. Sonya has everything you can think of. The cabin was clean and warm. Thank you so much, Sonya. We would absolutely stay again !

The Fox Den on The Penobscot River

We had a wonderful stay in such a special accommodation. The hosts thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Even provided snacks and wine that we enjoyed on the back screened-in porch overlooking the river. It doesn’t get better than that! The kitchen was fitted out with new appliances, cooking implements, pots and pans—great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Location was great for visiting the National Park, Bar Harbor etc. An easy 1 hour drive. We felt Jay and Darryl really cared about creating an inviting, enjoyable hide-away for their guests. They really hit the mark!
