MacLeod Cove: secluded cottage with private shore

MacLeod Cove is a 3-bedroom cottage on the Bras d'Or, Cape Breton's beautiful inland sea. Enjoy ocean views and private cove, within 25 minutes drive of Baddeck, North Sydney (Newfoundland ferry terminal), and the Cabot Trail. Smoking and fires of any kind are not permitted anywhere on the property. The cottage is very private, surrounded by forest and sea. It typically has good cell phone coverage and we have wifi. Private downstairs 2-bedroom apartment located in the quiet community of South Bar. Take advantage of the view and great sunsets with a relaxing stroll down to the shore. Apartment is well suited for 2 couples, a small family or solo travelers. Unfortunately we cannot allow pets in our Airbnb…we are unable to make exceptions to this policy. Full size newly renovated kitchen available for cooking meals or prepping a light snack. Washer and dryer are also available for your convenience.

Welcome to “Point Beithe” (birch point in Gaelic). This beautiful home sits on its own point surrounded by 180° of Mira River waterfront age. You will also enjoy access to your own small private island that is connected by a shallow sand bar. Sit out on the large deck or floating dock to enjoy the views of the river, launch kayaks, paddle boards, and swim. We have signed up for the strongest internet service offered in the area (Starlink). Cellular reception is not great in the area.

Explorer's Cottage provides a country experience on 150 wooded acres, with a private beach, a botanical park-like forest, bird watching, an orchard, a Japanese meditation garden, library, paved pathways, and a hiking path, all with a refined interior. Included: WiFi, coffee beans and tea, charcoal and propane bbqs, firewood, tv, fishing gear, + canoe. 4.5 star rating by Canada Select. Leaving the cottage empty for three days in between bookings for guest health and safety.
