The Potel is an amazing spot for a peaceful getaway. The tiny house and the surrounding property is very clean and well maintained. The location within Shawnee is great, as you are no more then a 15-40min drive from great hiking. The abundance of fireflies at night was an added bonus!! Would highly recommend staying at the Potel!!

Everything was great. Needed a few days away by myself to relax and was able to. Host was very nice and informative. Close to two cities but still secluded enough to relax.

Wonderful place for our visit home for the holidays! We felt comfortable and welcome throughout our stay in a historic place with a super helpful and responsive host and all the amenities we needed.

Alice's airbnb was very private and peaceful. I enjoyed seeing her animals, especially our sweet visit at the door by one of the roosters. The space was just big enough for my husband and I with our dog Toby. The place was very clean and the bed so comfortable. She's in a great location for you to see what all the Shawnee National Forest has to offer and so much more homey than a cabin. Some of my favorite areas to visit were the Garden of the Gods, Cave in Rock, Burden Falls, Iron Furnace, Dixon Springs, Chocolate Factory, and Garden of the Gods Outpost store had anything you could want. These are just a fraction of what there is to see in the area. We were able to see a lot. Brochures available were helpful. Favorite restaurant there is Shotgun Eddys. Great tasting food and big portions. The breakfast is the best as well as the fried fish. They have a bloody mary that's a meal in itself. I had the pleasure of meeting Alice and hope I get the chance to stay at her place again.
