Family-friendly holiday rentals in Cave Spring

May be one of my favorite mountain stays I’ve had! Definitely will be back!

The apartment was nice and clean, close the river. We didn’t know there wasn’t a TV. We should have noticed it I guess. It wasn’t a problem for us. It was a new ce place to stay, and dog friendly.

We were looking for a cabin, hoping to find a quiet place to rest, relax and recharge in nature. We never dreamed that we would find an authentic 18th century cabin located in the forest on a mountain top - with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The inside of the cabin was beautifully furnished as would be expected in colonial Virginia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the experience of stepping back in time.

We really enjoyed our visit! The house was perfect. We were so happy just relaxing on the deck and in the hot tub. We lost power only briefly but the generator kicked on so no real interruption. We found it hard to leave and head back home. Thank you for the wine as well as such a beautiful place to spend our vacation.

The house was immediately welcoming upon entry with plenty of space for a large family gathering (though we arrived as only three of us). The massive table and kitchen was well laid out. The upstairs was a fun set up with its five or six different beds. We all got to choose the one that fit our personalities the best (and there were plenty of options to choose from). This morning before checking out we saw some baby deer frolicking and chasing each other around outside in the trees while we drank our coffee. If we have the opportunity we will absolutely rent this place again for another family trip. Thank you Amanda for the perfect little experience in the middle of our road trip!

I had the most wonderful stay at Bliss Cabin, to say the least. From the initial photos of the writing desk and yoga deck, to the curious graveled path winding around the property lined with life and decorative details, I was totally immersed in the love and care that was so palpably present! Kathryn & Luke were absolutely lovely, so helpful, and incredibly accommodating! My recommendations while on the property: build and tend to a fire. Journal at the writing desk while playing Miles Davis. Take an early cold plunge in the river, do a round of Wim Hof breathing, then run up to take a hot shower at their beautiful abode. Chat with Luke, have tea with Kathryn. Do yoga on the deck. Say hello to the frogs. Express your inner musician with their drums and sound bowls. Let your soul free here!

Beautiful location, place as described. Jacuzzi was great. Lots of hot water. Good water pressure, good shower. Bed was comfortable. Donnie was helpful and responsive.

This place in the mountains is BEAUTIFUL! I wanted to stay longer. I was there for my graduation from Liberty University. It was about an hour away, but it worked for me because the property was large enough to house all of my family and friends. Jennifer was VERY responsive. The kitchen was amazing. There is a Food Lion about 6 minutes away down the hill, and restaurants. My grandsons and niece loved the outdoor play area. My husband loved the fire pit. I loved sitting on the porch on the swing. We LOVED that there were plenty of outlets! THANK YOU for hosting us! We will be back! Dr. Beth Dickens & Family

Anthony's place was very clean and welcoming. felt secluded even though was close to everything. was well pleased with our stay. only drawback was we weren't able to control the temperature and the house was 76 degrees too hot for June. Anthony did turn it down some but was still too hot for us . plenty of wildlife if that's your thing, the deer come close enough to almost pet them . I will definitely stay here again it's perfect for just 2 people

A small group of friends and I stayed at Anne’s place for our best friends wedding. Needless to say, this was the perfect spot. Anne’s place was utterly beautiful and peaceful. The house was so cozy and quaint, the family photos on the wall that depicted the home from a different generation made our stay that much more special. We felt so at home and it was the perfect place to unwind and celebrate our friend. Anne went above and beyond by providing us with fresh eggs, juices, and a variety of other breakfast items. Cooking in the rustic kitchen was hands down our favorite part! 10/10 would recommend staying at Anne’s place!

This was a wonderful stay and great home!! Very helpful and accommodating host! Perfect for our family!! Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Nice clean comfortable loft. Short business stay for us. We would definitely stay again. Jonathan is a great responsive host.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time away out at the cabin. The tubing was AMAZING! and the nature is just gorgeous. What a lovely opportunity to slow down. The house was equipped with everything we needed. Loved the bath tub and the rocking chairs. We made a fire outside each night and took lots of walks. Very tranquil

Warren's place was great - very cozy, clean, & comfortable! Communication was good with the host & check-in was easy with a keypad. Only issue we had was that it was a little tricky to find. Warren sent directions, but the road is easy to overlook & we missed it the first time around!

This is our home away from home when we go to our annual family reunion. Julie’s home is spacious, welcoming and beautiful. The home is always well-stocked with the necessities and a few extra touches, like a bowl of welcome snacks, coffee for the Keurig, etc. We love Starling Place. We have stayed three years in a row and will be back next year.

this was genuinely one of the best airbnbs we have ever stayed in. The amenities were exactly as described, but most importantly, this place was incredibly dog friendly. between the dog treats, providing bowls for the dogs, a bed inside the home, and dog toys, our puppy Hazel had the absolute best time! The house was stacked with groceries which was unexpected but really useful for some breakfast and even a frozen pizza for a first night dinner! The hosts were responsive and super helpful. we would love to stay here again. The property is beautiful. lots to do in the area and close to Great hikes

Staying with Mr Jane was a pleasure. The location was perfect, the apartment was cozy and spotless. The place was well-equipped and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. This is a peaceful downstairs apartment with private entry and beautiful backyard with swimming pool. Mrs Jane was always available to answer our questions. unforgettable experience! Highly recommended!" 

Great location at Bernard’s Landing - right next to the club house with the pool and other amenities. Very large space that could easily accommodate 4 couples. Would definitely stay here again!

This Airbnb is in an absolutely stunning location. We stayed here for my daughter‘s graduation from Virginia Tech and it’s a 30 minute drive from campus. It is down some windy mountain roads, but the views are spectacular. The apartment is exactly as described; everything was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this apartment.The host was super responsive and if we are ever back in the area, we would definitely stay here again.

The view from the condo was stunning and beautiful, just like John’s photos online. The detailed directions and descriptions were very accurate. John welcomed us during check-in and thanked us when we left. It would be nice to have screens on the sliding glass door. Definitely would consider staying there in the future!

We loved our stay. We only stayed one night. We drove up to drop my brother off at college. It was a wonderful day. Everyone was super nice.!

It was super cute and close to plenty of things to do. Also a nice little view of the water, which we loved!

We had a wonderful long weekend here, enjoying all the beauty of Smith Mountain Lake. We rented a boat, played mini-golf, walked along the lake, and ate great food. This condo is the perfect location to relax and play.
