Ines and her mother looked after us incredibly well during our stay. We were welcomed to the property by the friendly face of Ines' mother and she showed us around all of the property and grounds. Once we had the tour and knew where everything was, the hosts vacated the property and left us in privacy. The property is stunning and the pictures truly do not do it justice. The pool was a sun trap, the grounds we beautiful, we even forgot to buy lemons for cocktails but the property even has a lemon and orange tree to solve our problem. There is nothing that this property doesn't have. If it's not there, you don't need it. Thank you so much to everyone at Quinta de Gatao for looking after us. We will be back for sure.

Abi and Regina are exceptional hosts who made our stay memorable. We especially enjoyed the tour of the animation museum by Abi which was fascinating The property is very lovely, the flower and vegetable gardens are incredible and the whole ambience is very relaxing. A perfect place to stay for several days. We thoroughly recommend staying here and look forward to returning

This place ought to be officially recognized as a national treasure! The house and grounds are full of historic charm and the scenery is spectacular. The farm fresh breakfast was truly impressive and the hospitality was top notch. We stayed for two nights but would have been very happy to have stayed for an entire week if our schedule had allowed for it. Many thanks to the owners for creating such a wonderful guest house and for the warm welcome and great sightseeing tips. It was the highlight of our trip from Canada.

Beautiful farm and house! Being able to wander the farm and pick fresh produce to cook was a highlight. If you’re looking to stay out in the country visiting Amarante, this is wonderful!

Osvaldo, Madalena and Carla, 3 super friendly and helpful hosts who provided an amazing stay, always worried about collaborating so that nothing was missing. The space is very pleasant, consisting of rustic houses on a farm in the middle of nature in an environment of tranquility perfect for those who like to relax away from the confusion of big cities. a great breakfast, a wonderful pool with great views, a waterfront river, river paths along the river, good wines, etc... All perfect! A huge thank you Osvaldo, Madalena and Carla. Well done.

Beautiful mountain views. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy, so we couldn’t hike as much as we would have liked and could only dream of using the pool—but we still loved the area. The nearby town had stores and restaurants, which was convenient. The cottage is well-equipped, and the AC was helpful since the weather was cool. There probably wasn’t enough hot water due to the rainy conditions. Other than that, we were happy with our stay!

Leonel's place is the reason we prefer airbnb to hotels. This little cottage in a little village high up in the mountains above the Douro valley immerses you in the experience - from the breathtaking views to the sound of birds and smells of the fruit trees that surround the house. Leonel, who lives on the property nearby, is the perfect host, extremely generous, friendly and caring he's what all airbnb hosts should aspire to be. If your'e considering visiting the Douro valley and don't mind staying a bit off the beaten path, stay here - you won't regret it!

This little farm is a true haven in the middle of nature! The outdoor space is simply magical — spacious, full of beautiful nooks and crannies and with animals that delighted the children from start to finish. Those were days of great peace, fresh air and smiles, lulled by the wonderful sound of the water always flowing in the pool. The house is very well equipped, cozy and designed for all ages. Inês was an exemplary host, always available and attentive, and Dona Doras also deserves a special thank you for her prompt and kind help. We will treasure this experience with great affection! Our stay at the Lemon Farm was nothing short of unforgettable. Nestled just outside Porto, this peaceful retreat offered the perfect mix of nature, comfort, and charm. The setting was serene and full of character—from the citrus trees to the rustic elegance of the property. But what truly made our visit special were the horses. Their calm presence and gentle nature added something truly meaningful to our experience. Whether we were watching them graze at sunset or simply being near them, they brought a sense of grounding and peace we didn’t expect but deeply appreciated.

This home is absolutely beautiful, we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. Everything we could possibly need was there, from a fully equipped kitchen to thoughtful touches throughout the house and garden. It was spotless, and we especially appreciated the fresh citrus and eggs from the birds next to the property waiting for us. Carolina and her husband are exceptional hosts, warm, generous, and incredibly helpful. All their recommendations were perfect. Do note that a car is essential, and confident driving is a must in the area. The game room with the pool table was a great bonus, especially on rainy days. The nature, the views, and the garden were all stunning. Our only regret was not staying longer.

An excellent experience, a very welcoming place for those who want to rest, watch series and entertainment with the projector and relax with their partner. It had the necessary amenities for a stay, and I can also highlight the small face towel, which few ALs have. We saw the horses, the puppy and a beautiful green environment with yellow flowers, no doubt there is a very beautiful view from the window. It was very peaceful and in the morning it is beautiful to hear the birds singing. The cabin is small but cozy, has AC and cools the environment inside quickly, which is excellent in warmer seasons. Some points to improve have already been discussed with the host. We ordered the breakfast menu, with pancakes, and for the price, for 2 people, it's very good, easy and punctual delivery, I highly recommend it! We will definitely be back next time! 👏🏽 Thank you!!

I spent a glorious month at Maria Celeste’s home. It was simply the best place to reset, connect with nature & rest. I’ve never been to a more peaceful home. Freshly squeezed orange juice (from trees) every morning. Lemons for water. A natural spring to swim off hiking grime. Mountains to climb surrounding the entire home. Lizard & butterfly friends. And so so quiet. Maria Celeste picked me up & drove me to the location. Taxi services available to go to town when needed. I can not recommend staying at this home more. If you need some R’n’R, stay. You won’t regret it.

Calm and relaxing Sitio. We had a very good weekend at the Alambique house with access to the pool. We went on a horseback ride that we really enjoyed. We also use the paddle tennis court. Easy communication with host Georgina, always very accessible. Thank you!

We lived a few days in a real haven of peace. Past the aspects, let's say amazing, of the path to the accommodation, we were charmed by the hospitality of our hosts, Lise and Patrick. The dogs are very affectionate and quiet. The horses are not left out either (and a little pranky). The totally free access to green spaces, the pool, the barbecue area is an undeniable plus. Lovers of nature and peace, look no further for your place. In addition, housed in this natural environment, you will have plenty of time to explore the surrounding nature, on foot or by car. We had a nice stay at La Quinta. We'll be able to come back someday ...

we had a very pleasant week at ana paula's..the environment is beautiful and very quiet...yet it is very easy to access the roads leading to the Douro Valley or to Porto. the house is spacious. ana Paula is always attentive, without being intrusive. we are delighted with our week.

Sara is the best host ever! It is super professional and is always willing to help. Mr. Carlos who received us was also very friendly and helpful. The house is amazing, and since it is in the middle of nature, only the birds are heard, so it is the ideal place to relax. It's the second year we've stayed here, and we always want to come back.
