We'll meet at the Nature Reserve in Modderfontein. We'll travel down a long narrow road where we will stop to take a few pictures. We'll then follow the road which leads us to a rustic stone bridge that has a little river flowing under which is surrounded by lots of exotic flowers. We'll hop out and take a few more pictures here while we enjoy the tranquil sound of the river. We'll then drive into the reserve and down a stoney road which opens up into this beautiful tranquil lake that overlooks the reserve. This will be our last stop where we will completely embrace what Mother Nature has given us. Other things to note It is very normal to feel nervous for a photoshoot. We’ll also get acquainted with a proudly African fabric called Ankara or we use the chiffon fabric to create beaded embroidery which I'll show you how to manipulate into a one piece free style outfit. We'll in The Maboneng Precinct. We'll walk up to the top of the street where we will view a little bit of the Maboneng history. There are various African restaurants, street art and the famous Maboneng sign that we'll walk past. We'll then walk through local African street stalls selling paintings, clothing and local merchandise. We'll conclude at a local rooftop bar where you can enjoy the views of our beautiful City of Johannesburg. The Voortrekker Monument tour is filled with interesting stories, history and a few secrets. I will show and tell you about these gems that can be found in this granite icon of Pretoria. Our tour will start at the Quo vadis sculpture and will end at a canon that was dangerous to those in front of her, as well as those behind her. You will be shown the worlds longest marble frieze, depicting the everyday life of the Voortrekkers as well as significant events of the Great Trek. From the viewing area, we will also be able to have a birds eye view of the Jacaranda city and a bit of the province of gold, namely Gauteng. The Cenotaph Hall with its tapestries, and the museum will also be visited. It is also here that I will let you in on a bit of a secret surrounding the monument. I will also tell you about a Chinese invention that became the lifeblood of the Great Trek. I will also tell you about the South African Navy submarines associated with the Voortrekker Monument , I will even show you the hospital where my finger was re-attached after " the incident" . This tour can also be presented in Afrikaans. Please note that the experience fee does not cover your entrance fee to the Heritage Site.
