The open and spacious design, full kitchen and sunny living room, are all meant to encourage comfort, slowing down, and fully enjoying company and place. The Roosevelt

What a lovely space on one end of the Lodge! You can sit here and look down the valley at such beauty. The Hideaway was named after the Roosevelt Mine, which opened in 1907 after the gold and silver crash, reportedly closing in 1919 due to differences amongst the owners. Although it never operated commercially after that time, veins were pursued until the 1930’s. President Roosevelt actually visited Pitkin and stayed at the local hotel which is still in operation.
