Holiday houses in Chato Volcano

Santiago’s place was perfect for our family of 5. It’s exactly as pictured, but the view and the privacy is even better. Santiago was a great host. He guided us to our place after dark and made sure we had everything we needed. I even left my wallet at a local restaurant and had trouble communicating with them over the phone because of the language barrier, and Santiago called on my behalf. Above and beyond hosting. Even though the house is not technically part of the resort, it still very much feels like it when you enter and the accessibility to the hot springs. If we’re able to come again to La Fortuna, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you so much, Santiago!

This is a great place to stay while visiting the la Fortuna area! It’s a little outside of town so it feels nice and private while not being to far of a drive to everything. The place was extremely clean and cozy. Loved the hot tub and seeing the fireflies come out at night! Also got an awesome massage from Martha, definitely recommend getting one from her. Overall good spot and enjoyable stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Toucan! This is a gem of a stay located behind a private gate with 6 rooms. The gardens are stunning and the pool/hot tub area has amazing views of the Arenal Volcano. We sat in the pool area for awhile one afternoon and watched the birds come and go. We also saw multiple iguanas up in the trees. The rooms are lovely, beds comfortable, and the hammocks are a lovely touch to relax in and listen to the rain. We didn’t use the communal kitchen but it looks to be well stocked and a great area to hang out outside of the room. Great location in La Fortuna. Berenice was a fantastic host and was quick to respond with any questions. We would not hesitate to stay here again in the future!

Beautiful place the pictures do no justice in describing this beautiful home I would recommend anyone visiting this side of Costa Rica to stay here the place is more than cozy and more than comfortable ! Worth every penny ! I would buy this property if I could !

What can I say. Absolutely AMAZING! Rigoberto was an incredible host - very communicative, responsive, and made great recommendations for activities and food. The place was immaculate and very clean. The jacuzzi….. INCREDIBLE! One of the best jacuzzis we have ever been in. The view is indescribable. We felt we had one of the best views in La Fortuna of the Arenal Volcano, but the place really stands out because it is one of a kind and no other property looks like it. Thanks Rigoberto for making my wife’s and mine 10-year wedding anniversary extra special 💙 Highly recommend this place 1000/10 ⭐️

We’ve stayed at some cool places over the years, but Casa Del Mono is one of my all-time favorites. It’s a perfect little getaway for anyone who wants to be close to nature but with all the comforts of home. It’s a very private property sitting way up the side of a mountain with a beautiful courtyard and hiking trails right out the front door. You simply cannot beat the view, and waking up to a chorus of birds like toucans, oropendolas, and tanagers was incredible (bring your binoculars)! The house itself is beautiful and well-equipped with everything you need. The kitchen is fully stocked, the bed is comfortable, and the shower/tub are gorgeous. It was everything we were hoping for in a Costa Rican stay, and I hope we get to visit again soon!

Beautiful place and responsive host with plenty of local recommendations! Place genuinely feels like being in a luxury hotel in the middle of the rainforest complete with a hanging bridge and stream right outside to soothe the senses. Would highly recommend a stay at Jimmy's place if visiting Fortuna!

We had an amazing stay at Elixir Arenal! Our favorite times were spent outside on the patio enjoying the rainstorms and birds calling while in the hot tub. The river was also a beautiful spot to read or even nap. The kitchen was stocked with what we needed to make a couple meals at home, and the house was a short drive from markets and delicious restaurants (Chante Verde just down the road was our favorite). Priscilla was very responsive and always willing to adjust the hot tub time for us as we were traveling with kids. Would 100% recommend.
