“Katie and Happy own a lovely a three story building with guests’ rooms on the first and second floors. They live on the third floor. The house is enclosed by a fence with a lock and has a lovely outdoor seating area. My room was on the second floor and was the equivalent of a hotel room in amenities and cleanliness; moreover, it had a stove, refrigerator, and sink. Happy and Katie provided coffee and tea and some beer and milk. After some long days in Tamarindo (I wanted to see the sun and ocean as much as possible), it was the perfect little retreat to come back and relax. Also, it’s about a 5 minute walk to the beach - super easy and navigable. Right down the road is Cafe Tico, which I cannot recommend highly enough for the best, cheapest breakfast in town (and delicious coffee!)”

“Our stay at Jade’s was great!! Tamarindo has a very busy nightlife, lots of shopping and plenty of great options for food. The location is right in the heart of it all, but still felt safe with friendly security at the door. The breezeway to the building entrance was beautiful and very well maintained. The outdoor pool was fantastic. It has a sheltered area with seating which we made use of during our stay for some writing. The pool was a great oasis in the city, listening to the sounds of the streets and lots of birds. Jade’s place is on the top floor with an incredible view from the balcony. Sunsets were unbeatable. The room was spacious and the building is fairly new. What passes for silicone work on the tiles in the bathroom was laughable, but that’s nothing to do with the owner and more to do with building practices in CR. The walk-in closet had plenty of space and nice large mirror with good lighting. A hair dryer would have been a welcome asset but otherwise the bathroom had plenty of space and amenities. There was no hand-shower in the shower stall as shown in the pictures and the rain head was quite heavily calcified. I suspect the hand shower had suffered the same fate and was removed. Unfortunately this made the water pressure painful on the more delicate areas. Having just left a yoga retreat, we were thrilled to find a top notch yoga studio in the complex across the street and made use of it daily. We also became regulars at the Nordico Coffee shop in the same complex, great staff and great breakfasts. Very close walking distance to the beach, and literally dozens of places to eat and shop. Recommend the Shrimp Hole! The A/C in the room was fantastic. Occasionally there was a loud rumbling noise and vibration which I suspect was from the rooftop cooling tower pump (basically directly above us) but we got used to it. The elevators were fast and there were two, if you were too tuckered to use the beautiful stairwell. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Pura Vida!”
