Holiday rentals with a kayak in Chautauqua Lake

My family loved staying at Leslie's house! It offers a stunning view of the lake and is perfect for a relaxing vacation. The house is impeccably clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked with plenty of towels, kayaks, indoor and outdoor games, and more. I highly recommend it for a family vacation and would love to stay there again! Oh, and Leslie is an excellent host -- super friendly and provides every last detail you will need. Thank you, Leslie!

The house was very spacious and had 3 really nice bathrooms. Common areas had a lot of space and we never felt like we were tripping over each other. Perfect place for quality family time and enjoying the beauty of the lake!

Location- We were excited to find this home. My husband and in laws were coming to town to snowmobile. My daughter and I wanted to tag along, but needed a place to stay during the day. It was perfect for this! They were able to ride the snowmobiles right from the house and jump on the trail. There was a cute diner in town and a library that we visited during the day. Host- I messaged the host ahead of time to see if a late check out was available. They answered quickly and were able to accommodate at a more than fair price. Also, the unthinkable happened during our visit. I ran outside to the load the car in the frigid weather and got locked outside while my daughter was inside. Not only did the host answer my frantic call, they were at the home WITHIN MINUTES to unlock the door. Home- The house had all the essentials for our stay (including a pack n play). At first we thought the cleaning fee was steep, but the pristine house upon arrival made it definitely worthwhile. 5 stars!

Your first impression when you arrive at the house is “this is cute 🙂”. Then you walk inside and it’s WOW! I’m not sure if I’ve ever stayed at a cleaner place . It was immaculate ! The river view was pretty. The house has everything you need , please don’t take for granted the hosts generosity ! Toothpaste , shampoo , they had everything you need if you forgot yours ! lol it was a perfect home base for our weekend kayak adventures . Son of a gun if I did ask one thing of Jen ! lol in this Awful rainy miserable spring , I asked her for one day of sun ! We had a perfect weekend the weather was beautiful !! Please don’t book here lol I want it available for our next Alleghany adventure . It’s a great place. Even the babies owls that dive bombed us at our evening fire was awesome !

The pond house is the best Airbnb that we've ever stayed at! It was extremely private with lots to do on the property. The house was beautiful and had everything that we needed. Shira was very responsive and proactive - even ordering us a brand new crib for our baby! The pond house is family friendly and worth every penny!

We had a lovely stay at this lake house in Mayville, NY. The home was clean, cozy, and exactly as described—everything was in perfect order when we arrived. You can tell the hosts put care into creating a welcoming space. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate during our stay, and we had rain and heavy fog most of the time, which limited our ability to enjoy the beautiful outdoor space and lakefront views—the main reason we booked this property. That said, the home itself was a great retreat, and we’d love to come back when the weather is more cooperative to fully enjoy all it has to offer.

We loved our stay! The place was absolutely beautiful, very clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The host was kind and welcoming, which we really appreciated. There were a couple of small things—our message about needing more propane for the grill went unanswered, and we did notice some ants during our stay, though we understand that can happen, especially in nature. Overall, it was a great experience and we’d definitely consider staying again!

This house is amazing. It is even more beautiful than the pictures. Beautiful view directly on the lake. Spacious house and lots of room for my elderly father to maneuver with a cane and/walker. Judith is a gracious hostess!

We found Justin's place to meet our need of finding a place on the water, near the lake to unwind and rest our brains. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed. We were able to grill out, cook in the kitchen with very well stocked appliances and tools, enjoy the kayaks and sit by a fire pit. We are familiar with the area so we were happy to see that he had Lake Life Kitchen on his recommended list because it's a favorite of ours as well. We had breakfast there twice. We also went to Busti Tap House for dinner and had a great bartender, Barb, who made our experience there fun. We were very grateful for Justin's quick responses and how he took care of our needs. (replaced the firepit within hours so we could have one to use) We loved the friendly neighbors and yet were able to feel like we could unwind and rest as well. We would recommend this place!

The quiet neighborhood with birds singing, waves lapping on the shore, and the breezes coming through the screened deck doors make sleeping in that oh so comfortable bed an overnight vacation. You will certainly get your rest! If you come from the North, make sure to stop in for a take out supper at Off-The-Hook Seafood place at the Dunkirk Pier before the last 5 miles to Wisteria Cottage.

Perfect weekend stay for my husband and I. The inside is pretty. Bed is comfy. I saw the most amazing sunrise Saturday morning! It does get super hot upstairs so you need to follow the instructions that are left on the fridge. Favorite spots: Johnson Estate winery & Truffle Honey (it is close & it was delicious)!

We had an amazing stay for the weekend. This was the most accommodating Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. Everything we needed was available. Rebecca personalized our stay for a soccer weekend and it was so thoughtful. It was a short walk to the lake and the private lake front was so peaceful. The cottage had a lot of space and was very clean. The amenities available at the cottage were great. We wish our stay could have been longer. If we are ever back in the area we would 100% choose to stay at the Little Shovel again. Thank you for a great weekend!

Great place to stay. Very quiet and relaxing. It was wonderful to have access to the kayaks and canoes. Also, a decent size table. Kitchen had adequate supplies.

A group of six college pals stayed at Tina’s place for a long weekend. The location is ideal and we spent as much time as possible outside. The house has everything you need. We walked to a nearby restaurant/bar and had a bonfire in the beach. The neighborhood is very walkable. It’s a half hour or so to Buffalo and is totally worth the drive.

Everything as described. Fantastic view. Lovely rustic and antique place. Leigh was a great host.

We had a good time staying at Heather and John's lake home in Bemus Point. You cannot beat the location regarding short travel times to area destinations. The house's living space has an open layout to encourage gathering which is nice. The hosts are familiar with the area, will meet you at check-in, and are available to answer questions you may have throughout. Compared to a lot of rentals by Lake Chautauqua, Heather and John's place is affordable to stay at for more than a weekend. Overall, a calm, relaxed getaway for your family. Here are a couple things not in the listing that are helpful to know up front when booking: 1. The house's water source is well water. This is typical for most houses in the area, but it does mean reduced water useage during your stay. 2. One bedroom (bed with white quilt in photos) has the washer/dryer in it and the door leading through to the back. 3. To get to the dock and to walk the neighborhood, you will walk down/up a decent incline.

Overall great but im thinking 1 more heater would have been great. Well i didnt know how to use the unit on the wall. Lol. User error. Overall great stay.

Perfect little getaway! The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The property was absolutely beautiful. Our dog loved it and had fun playing with Elsa :)

This place is amazing for anyone wanting a private outdoor paradise. The place includes everything you could possibly need for a short or extended stay, with outdoor games, stocked pond with kayaks/ boats, creek in the backyard, and expansive outdoor area. The cabin was comfortable and well-appointed. I’ll definitely be back again!

This was a last minute booking when our winter cabin reservation had to cancel. It turned out great! Beautiful, comfortable, very well stocked log home that had everything we needed and more! Pond was skateable at edge and the hill next to the house was perfect for sledding. Our grandkids had a ball! Dianna quickly responded to all our inquiries and they even made it possible to get a campfire started . Thank you!

We absolutely loved this house and all that came with it. Our pups loved all of the room to run, play, hike, swim and explore. The house was so well stocked it felt like our own home. The beds were super comfortable and the vibe of the home just instantly made us feel at ease. The hot tub was great and the views were exactly what we were hoping for. Will def be back!

Beautiful and peaceful location to stay while selling at the Chatauqua Craft Alliance show. Quaint and relaxing. Lots of natural light and airflow!
