Holiday rentals with a kayak in Chittenden County

Craig was great! He was very responsive with a few questions I had and even accommodated a slightly later time of checkout. Would recommend this place!

We had a very short stay due to our commitment, but enjoyed the home very much. The home is in a nice neighborhood with very nice neighbors as well.

One of the best homes I’ve rented in Vermont, the home was beautiful, the property was beautiful as well. Would highly recommend having a vehicle to be able to handle the unexpected weather conditions and would highly recommend staying at this home if you’re looking to snowboard/ski or a simple getaway, the ideal home! The host was super thoughtful and responsive as well. Highly recommend!

Our stay was very nice! Our top requests are clean, quiet and comfortable beds. All three were met. Pat, was very friendly and helpful with our stay. I would stay there again!

The rental was perfect for our needs and well appointed. the location is very walkable to a few restaurants and breakfast spots which was conveinent. David in an excellent and responsive host. We had a smoke alarm start chirping late at night for a low battery (just bad luck!) and David was available to help us solve the issue quickly. He even offered to bring us replacement batteries. We would happily rent from David again.

The house was clean and well appointed. Kylie was responsive and helpful throughout the process. We had a very nice stay.

Lovely home and would 100% visit again. The porch sitting over Lake Champlain is one of a kind - we saw many of the surrounding properties from the water during our time in Essex and I don’t think there’s another porch in town with that type of water view - can’t beat it! We spent 10 days in late August with our 3 yr old daughter and some grandparents in/out over the course of the visit. The home was perfect for our getaway. The hosts, Lisa and John were flexible and welcoming. The space had everything we needed for our stay - kitchen was great and we cooked many meals at home. The open kitchen/dining/living floor plan is perfect for spending time together and so cozy… all alongside an unbeatable view.

First, the home: was beautiful. Perfect for the 3 adults in our party. Kitchen had every amenity we could think of. Bathrooms, too. Super comfy living space. Windows allowed a lovely lake breeze. Beautiful outdoor living, but the weather did not cooperate to allow us to enjoy. Next, the host: Aimee was super communicative. She was proactive with instructions and answers to our anticipated questions. And she was very quick to respond with the couple of questions we did have. Both the home and host were excellent. Would highly recommend.

The cottage on South Hero is wonderful, sitting overlooking the lake with a beautiful lawn leading down to the water. I needed a large rental to house extended family up for my daughter’s UVM graduation and this was perfect. There was plenty of room in the house for all of us and plenty of parking which we needed since everyone was coming from different locations. The beds were very comfortable and none of us found the water a problem. We weren’t able to spend much time enjoying the lake because it was cold and rainy the whole weekend but the view is beautiful. The house was easy to find and an easy drive to Burlington. Also, my 91 year old mother with serious mobility issues was with us and the house is extremely accessible. It has a ramp, ground floor bedroom and grab bars in the downstairs bathroom with walk in shower. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat and I really hope that I can.

We had a wonderful time at Ben's place. It's rustic but in the most charming kind of way.... beautiful location right on the lake with all the comforts of home. Ben was very communicative as a host. We had one small issue during our stay and he responded quickly and we were able to take care of it with no problem. We even saw a bald eagle fly right in front of us while we were there and that was the icing on the cake!

I was looking for a place that felt like “home away from home” since we were meeting our daughter and son-in-law for a New England fall weekend. This place absolutely met those expectations. We were able to prepare a meal together and share it at a lovely table in front of a fire. These are the type of things that are important to me, and this definitely felt like home. There is no higher compliment that I can give. The owners were super responsive. I would come back, for sure, and would recommend this beautiful lake front cabin.

Though it was cold and rainy during our stay we had a peaceful and relaxing stay. The cottage is very cozy and we felt right at home. A perfect fit for the two of us. The bedroom was warm and the bed was just right. We slept well every night. We are looking forward to our next trip up to the Champlain Islands and staying at the cottage again. Wonderful place!

Our stay was amazing! We were moving our daughter into her dorm at UVM and were in Burlington for a week. We decided to stay here rather than a hotel near campus. It was the best decision ever. Jack and Robin’s cottage was the perfect place to prepare for dorm move-in. We were able to get out and explore the area. The sunrises over Lake Champlain were beautiful while we drank our morning coffee. Walks on the causeway were great for watching sunsets. 10/10 will stay here again when we visit our daughter at UVM. Go Catamounts!

Words can’t describe the time my partner and I had! We are looking forward to returning next year if available. Perfect place with great hosts.

This was just the kind of place my family and I were looking for! It was peaceful, comfortable, and provided perfect access to Lake Champlain. Everything was provided for us: linens, towels, pots and pans, a grill and even kayaks and the pfds. Ilya was very polite and responsive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laura's place! It was perfect for a small family getaway. The only disappointment was that the weather did not cooperate enough to try out the cozy fire pit. We enjoyed sunrise from the living room and morning walks for coffee and bagels. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful time here! Just a few minutes walk from a very private beach that we could go out to at night and quietly observe the stars. Very close to the bike trail and only about 15 minutes away from downtown Burlington or Winooski. The space was larger than we could tell in photos and very comfortable! Kitchen had everything we could need and was very clean and tidy.

The house is very cute and the beach access is amazing. The hose is nice, gave clear instructions. This is located close to Burlington and offers plenty of things to do when away :)

Wonderful lakeside cabin tucked away down hard-packed gravel roads. Huge screened in outdoor dining area, and huge patio with grill. Cozy living room with wood fireplace. Beautiful bedrooms. Quiet cove you’ll surely want to go float in. Walk to tennis and basketball court in one minute. Games and puzzles. Hugh chefs island for serious food preparation. Well stocked kitchen. Gracious, responsive host. Birdsong throughout the day and frog symphony throughout the night under the stars. Loved this place!

This lake house is a little slice of heaven. It is so peaceful and such a beautiful area. It has everything you could want to enjoy with the lake – paddle boards and kayaks and lifejackets, etc. It has such great rustic charm, but nicely updated, and comfortable. We truly were able to relax and just enjoy. It has a perfect screen porch!

We spent a delightful week at this Airbnb property in Vermont to celebrate New Year's Eve. Thanks to what looked like a recent remodel, the house had a fresh, woodsy scent and was impeccably clean - the bathrooms, surfaces, furniture, and linen were spotless. Despite being on a small local road, it was incredibly quiet with hardly any cars passing by in the winter. While not directly on the lake, you can still enjoy a view from the living room window. Burlington was only a 15-minute drive away, and we enjoyed visiting the local farm-to-table restaurants daily. We even took a day trip to Montreal, just under two hours to drive from the property to the old town. We wholeheartedly recommend Dawn and Kristie's property to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in Vermont.

Beautiful location right on the lake. Quite and isolated but only a 25 minute drive in to Burlington. A nice rustic cabin but with all the comforts of home.

The comfy, cozy, lakeside cottage was a treat! The cleanliness was noted. Really appreciated the washer and dryer. Being on the lake with a western view was special. Beachcombing for seaglass was a lot of fun. Trips to Stowe and surrounds were easy with our GPS. There was evidence of a number of innovations such as driftwood fixtures, cool stairway to the beach, etc. (beach is all stones, BTW). Nancy and Dave were there to meet us when we arrived and showed us around the place well. They made us feel very comfortable. We recommend this home highly.
