Holiday rentals with lake access in County Donegal

Absolutely loved this beautiful cottage. Stunning peatland surroundings, remote, warm, historic cottage and a hot tub! A fab host as well.

Had a fabulous weekend at Duffys Lodge. Deirdre is such a lovely host, welcoming and helpful. The house is spotlessly clean and cosy, set in a beautiful location. The children loved the big play area outside. Deirdre had the essentials in the fridge on arrival., bread milk and butter. Not to mention the delicious homemade scones, jam and cream she made us for breakfast. There's nothing she hasn't thought of. Overall, the place is amazing and we can't wait to go back!

Had an amazing few days at Jillian’s place , gorgeous comfortable cosy home with terrific sea views , lovely walk to the pier and local restaurant. Quiet and peaceful location where house situated . We were visiting family member who lives in the area . Lovely walks on Marble Hill beach wasn’t brave enough to go in for a swim but will next time . Needed the car as other guest limited mobility. Beautiful bedrooms and bathroom downstairs too was ideal . Would recommend this property 100 % . Some great music on Jillian and killian’s Spotify lovely chilled break just what we needed . Amazing stay and amazing host. Could not fault any of it. We booked quite last minute and the place was ready and spotless. The host was quick to respond and and even accomodated some of our health related queries. She waa very helpful and gave us all the info we needed to have a private and quiet stay. Location is beautiful. Close to beaches and Dungloe town which has everything you need. The house itself was spotless and had a lot of character and is in such a private and pretty location. Clearly has had a lot of work put into it.

I stayed here with two adult family members and we were all delighted with the house and its surroundings. There are lovely views and the house is beautifully designed, full of light and character, with carefully chosen objects and pictures on display. Chris and Jude demonstrate that accommodation does not have to be bland and grey! The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and well supplied and we enjoyed relaxing indoors when not out and about in beautiful Donegal. The sheep in the adjoining field were a delight to observe! I have had a lifetime of visiting this area and this is probably the nicest place I have stayed. Our only criticism is that we couldn’t get the TV to work, but then we didn’t come to Donegal to watch TV, so not a big concern.

Wonderful peaceful few days at Winnie’s beautiful cottage. Really cozy with lovely open fire freshly set when we arrived. Very helpful hosts providing info on local area and clear instructions for the house. Would love to return in the future..a stunning traditional Irish cottage

3rd stay at the Hidden Gem and consistently an amazing spot to unwind and relax - last stay was a few years ago in 2018, and the standards are still as exceptionally high. Accommodation is spotless - it has everything you need to feel at home, and the host was very helpful before and during our stay with recommendations of local events. A welcome pack of bananas, crisps, biscuits and milk, all you need to kick in and relax straight away - Accommodation is well equipped -Mary Frances has thought of everything! There's enough between the accommodation (pool table, Pinball, Bar games, TV) and local walks/beaches to keep any age happy. Just an overall great place to switch off and spend some time with the important people in your life. will be back as soon as we can, as it's just perfect.

Jim's house was absolutely fantastic. It was spotlessly clean, incredibly comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the WiFi was strong. The woodburning stove was a God-send for the cold Donegal nights but equally the central heating was quick to warm the house. The location was ideal. A short 10-minute walk to the beach and a leisurely 15-minute stroll to Bonner's pub made it easy to enjoy the local amenities. And the views of Errigal from the front of the house were simply breathtaking! Jim was a fantastic host. He was incredibly helpful and communicative, ensuring we had everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Donegal.

Fantastic location and facilities!

The shepherd's hut exceeded our expectations in nearly every way. My mom and I stayed there for one night on a trip through Ireland and as soon as we arrived we were sorry we couldn't stay longer. The setting was perfect. It was a picturesque location and easy to find. The hut itself was nicely furnished and the communal room offered all of the comforts we needed. I'd love to come back some day.

I really loved my stay at Jean's place, it was the perfect location for me. Jean is really friendly and accommodating with all of your needs. The apartment is lovely and stocked with a very generous welcome pack! I felt really comfortable during my stay here and Buncrana itself is a lovely town. The shoreline walk that extends into the heritage walk and swan park is beautiful, such a peaceful place that supports Irish biodiversity and is planted up with Irish native plants for woodland, meadow and orchard. Some lovely artwork displayed here too. A great spot to base yourself for hiking and outdoor activities in general, I look forward to coming back. The food scene in this town good too! WILD IRELAND is a must for a great trip while visiting this area, very inspiring, heartfelt, educational and hopeful regarding living sustainably that supports our native Irish Wildlife. Really looking forward to coming back and exploring more in this beautiful area

Paul and Geraldine were super friendly. We felt right at home at their place. The view of the bay was very good, very relaxing, and a few very nice restaurants not too far away

Spent 1 night in Rhona's apartment and was very pleased with our stay. The view is incredible, and the private pathway to the beach really ties the whole place together nicely.

Johns place offers more than you need to have your stay enjoyable, clear check in instructions. Can highly recommend staying at Johns place.

Beautiful area with stunning views. Amenities, space and cleanliness were all great, absolutely no hesitation in recommending both Donna the host or this cottage to anyone wanting to stay in the area. We will be back again

We had a wonderful stay at Amanda's place. Her attention to detail is second to none and she was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The house is spotless, very well equipped and beautiful. Amanda also went out of their way to help us when we had some car trouble on day 2. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay! Moya & Gavin were lovely hosts—warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout. The house is absolutely stunning with an incredible view. Inside, it’s cozy and beautifully done, with everything you need. The kitchen is fully equipped, making it feel just like home. We’re definitely planning to come back soon!

Suzanne and David were so kind and helpful, we didnt need anymore help from them as everything was highly detailed. We were greeted by a nice cosy fire, which was just what we needed after the journey and there was plenty of logs left for us to keep it going throughout our stay. The house was spotless and everything we needed was provided! We had 2 dogs with us and the yard was really secure, with beautiful, peaceful scenery. The locstion was close to lots of beautiful things like the board walk and ards forest park! The only downfall from our trip was that we werent there for long enough - but next time! If you’ve got this far reading the review and you’re wondering whether to book, do it! The cottage offered everything needed for a relaxing, peaceful holiday. The location is ideal: plenty of lovely walks, places to visit, and great restaurants, cafés, and pubs within 25 min radius. Equally, it’s wonderful just staying at the cottage, strolling down to the beach, and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Everything was perfect, and we can’t wait to return!
