This peaceful place to stay offers a relaxing stay for the whole family, it is bright, new and modern, spacious and functional, very well insulated, about 50 m2 in the beautiful Caen stone house. Private parking and walled, equipped with Wi-Fi and a connected TV as well as air conditioning. Very well located between sea, forest and countryside, 5 minutes from the landing beaches, there are 3 castles nearby. Bayeux is 15 minutes away and Caen 25 minutes away, the RN 13 is close to the cottage.

The Clos du Marronnier studio

Le Clos du Marronnier is a small typical Bessin farmhouse, located at the entrance to the village of Coulombs. We work there with our horses (equestrian education and equicoaching) and do permaculture. On the first floor of one of the houses is an independent, newly renovated studio. Note that it overlooks the street, has an atypical entrance (low door to preserve an engraved lintel from the dawn of the landings) and a miller's staircase (steep) to access the sleeping area.

The rental that Corinne and Olivier offer is impeccable, clean and fully equipped! We're not missing anything! The setting is nice, quiet, fenced and secure. We sleep very well there. Corinne and Olivier are very welcoming, smiling, always available and responsive for their tenants. We'll be happy to go back!!

We loved our 3 day stay at Elisabeth’s place, with great restaurants, shops and sights all just a short walk away. It was the perfect location from which to explore the WWII sights and having secure parking for our car was an added bonus. We had a charming room on the top floor of Elisabeth’s beautiful house, with a private bathroom just across the hall that was no issue whatsoever. Everything was exactly as listed. It was super clean and the bed was comfortable. Air conditioner and fan provided, but we kept the window open all night as it was very quiet. I highly recommend taking the 12€ breakfast option—French toast with maple syrup among other fresh, healthy and tasty options.

Charming apartment (1km from the sea)

The photos of this lovely place don't do it justice, in my opinion. It's large, beautiful, and the glass doors (not shown) let in a lot of light. The floors are all tile and nice and cool/cold even when the weather is warming. It's out of the way and so peaceful, but nice Normandy villages to drive through getting to all the D-Day sites I wanted to visit. It's very close to the newer British memorial, and not too far from Omaha Beach and the American cemetery (about 30-40 minutes). It took longer (just over an hour, if I recall correctly) to get to Utah beach (around an inlet) and then another 40 minutes to return and visit Point du Hoc on my way back (well worth the drive). And then the best part of all is Martine, Frederic's mom. She is a wonderful Frenchwoman who it was my pleasure to meet and get to know. This is a great place!
