My family and I were very pleased with Eric and his lake house. It was perfect, clean, and very inviting. The home and location matched the pictures; in fact, it was better in person. Everything we wanted to do was there, we only went to the market. Eric was very attentive and when I had a question or a concern- he was quick to follow up and he was a great communicator. He responses were prompt and friendly. This meant everything to me. He did not act like a stranger; he welcomed us into his beautiful home. If I had my way, I'd still be there but work calls. I would highly recommend Eric and his lake house. I'm already talking to my husband about making plans to go back next year around the same time. If you're looking for a home beside the water with kayaks, grills, fire pit, and life jackets and close to beaches and most importantly a host who cares and will be attentive, check out this property and Eric. They both deliver.

Whether it's a big family or friend get to gather; you will have an amazing time at this home. I literally can't think of anything more I would want in a get away! Andy and Ling were always responsive and very kind. Thank you for the great time.

Did a long weekend at Janet’s place with my mom, little brother, older sister and her two young boys. The layout of the house was perfect for us - the way the bedrooms are spread out over the three floors, with a bathroom on each floor worked out so well. Everything was labeled, the kitchen was equipped with everything that we needed, and the location was awesome. The property is on the neighborhood’s smaller lake which means there aren’t any motorized crafts buzzing by, making it a very peaceful spot. Janet is a great communicator, so we knew what to do every step of the way. Great house, great location, great host.

Great place and outstanding service. Monique was an excellent host and always responsive. My kids enjoyed everything specially the horses. Everything was just as described and beyond expectations. The pool was very nice and also Stan was a great resource to help. I would recommend this place 100%. Thanks for the amazing experience.

I can't say enough good things about Sharon's place. We loved everything! A lovely place to unwind. House was cute as can be! Clean and everything was provided. The pool is a super bonus. Just a beautiful place. We certainly hope to come back again soon! Thank you so much, Sharon!!

One of the best stays I’ve had. Everything you need is there. You can tell the hostess is a mother, her home is very accommodating and tons of activities provided for a weekend in. Highly recommended stay!

She was a great host. Went to welcome us & made sure we had everything we needed. She was so sweet! The farm house was beautiful & the views were espectacular. We will be definitely coming back.

We had a great time, the kids loved the pool and beach access. Our hosts had lots of chairs, towels, blow up rafts, etc at the house for us to use. Kithen was stocked with the essentials and tools so we were able to cook in each night. Having the hotub and game console was great for the one stormy night. There was tons of room and plenty of towels and bedding. Hosts were very helpful answering our questions and providing recommendations. Definitely recommend for a relaxed weekend getaway!

We had a fantastic stay at Ellen's Lake of the Woods home! The location on the lake was perfect, with expansive views and easy access for boating and swimming. The house was incredibly clean, updated and well-maintained. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. Ellen was responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, swim deck and the outdoor fire pit for relaxing evenings. Overall, we highly recommend this lake house and would love to return next year!

We chose this charming place as it is centrally located for our family coming from the North and South to attend an event in Culpepper. Bob and Ann are wonderful hosts. This place brought back great memories from childhood visiting grandparents and older relatives. Bob gave an historical tour of the homestead and garden. Staying here is like visiting with your favorite aunt and uncle.

Had a great stay fit 9 of us very comfortably! Right on the lake so we took advantage of the good days! My 1st air bnb I’ve booked personally and Andrew made it very clear and easy for us! 10/10 stay!! Can’t recommend enough if you’re in that area!

Beautiful Victorian-style house with plenty of space inside to relax. There are cool objects/decorations/books everywhere you look! This airbnb was well-stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms. The backyard and the front porch were picturesque and nice to relax. The location was unbeatable as it was very close to the Shenandoah national park entrance. Would absolutely return! 6 of us stayed — three couples — and we spent a night playing boardgames and enjoying the outdoors.

I had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving stay in Culpepper! The accommodations were exactly as described and made me feel right at home. The house was modern, spotless, and incredibly welcoming, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. Everything about my visit exceeded my expectations, and I truly appreciated the care and attention to detail, and friendliness from the hosts. I look forward to staying here again the next time I’m in the area!

I was looking to get away from “it all” for a few days with my dog and this was perfect. Definitely stock up on groceries etc on your way because this lovely place is about 25 minutes from everywhere, including cell service! But the WiFi worked great and Peggy and her friendly creatures are very welcoming. A very charming spot. And Sperryville is a delightful town.

We had a WONDERFUL stay at Matt's beautiful property! The fishing was the highlight as the upper pond was in abundance of bass and bluegill and we all had a blast! Taking walks around the property, even enjoyed being on the porch during the rain. There was so much to do! Our dogs were in heaven being "farm puppies" for the weekend. What a wonderful way to spend Father's Day! We are hoping to book again in the fall to see the foliage!

I would say it exceeded our expectations on every level. We felt like we were in a 5 star resort and we loved all the extra touches and did not miss anything. Some recommendations for others: I would say that the cell phone service there is very spotty at least for our carrier T-Mobile. Also GPS is not always accurate as it took me past the home. The internet works great however and we did not miss the cell phone service once we got in but if you need to reach the host for whatever reason before you check in or you could not get in you may have to leave the premises to go to where there is better service. Just plan accordingly. Highly recommend you bring firewood and starter as the host recommends. Finding some firewood for sale nearby was a challenge so we just went into the woods and found some but next time I will bring it. LOVE the home and it was a great stay. Will come back in the future.

The photos didn’t do this place justice. The house and surrounding were wonderful. I stayed there with my two friends. The beds were super comfortable. We were able to use their paddle board and canoe and spent the day enjoying the lake. The water was very warm and peaceful. There was everything in house that we needed, even spare toiletries in case something was forgotten. Lynn and family were such great hosts thank you again x

Absolutely gorgeous - seeing it in person blows the pictures out of the water, and a great way to get some peace. They have a nice long walking path that goes around - there was some troubles with ticks, but we just checked ourselves afterwards when we went out. We also tried the Pool and Spa, which is VERY much worth every penny.

Connie is a great host and the 6-person house in Castleton was a wonderful retreat, just what we were looking for. The house was as fantastic as the photos show. Be sure to see their additional 'Grounds' photos on their website. The hottub was hot, clean and worked great (even in winter). During our visit, the donkey, miniponies, goats and ze-donkey were fun to watch grazing in the fields in the field on the other side of the backyard fence. Stargazing was great at night. A bbq grill was on back deck, and a propane tabletop social 'firepit' which was great for morning coffee hangout. A woodstove (& everything I need to get it started) was in the living room. We walked the paved 4+ mile loop to see more of their animals.

The views and peace are unmatched. Enjoyed the paved path to walk dinner off too! Very clean, great jacuzzi tub inside and hot tub outside. Very close to SNP. Full kitchen was nice. Deer entertained us every morning . Loved it all.

Beautifully furnished house! Extremely clean - towels and bedding too. Beds were incredibly comfortable - don’t often get that in an Airbnb. The bedding was very clean and high end too. We had the green room which was beautiful but so dark. Great for sleeping but not for getting ready for a wedding with low lighting - it was hard to see the detail. I’m sure a younger person would be fine. If I had to say one negative the dark paintwork, although lovely, could do with some refreshing. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Our families stay at Lake of the Woods was better than we could have imagined! Todd's place was the absolutely perfect setup for my family, and I loved that it was one one-level living. The large screened porch provided a beautiful view and perfect place to sit and read. The view in the morning and the view at night were like two different experiences, both wonderful! The neighborhood is quiet but there is an energy that makes it a fun and interesting place to be. The location had easy access to both the water and the neighboring areas. There was plenty of parking and ample outdoor space to enjoy. The interior was exactly as described and decorated perfectly for a lake house. It is light and airy, clean and uncluttered...just the perfect supply of things you need/want for a vacation rental! The home is well maintained, and we had space for indoor activities too, on the one rainy day! We can't wait to come back!

This was a great space for a large family getaway. Lots of room to gather together in common spaces/large table as well as the ability to spread out. Kitchen was well equipped with high end appliances. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Wifi was good in some parts of the house, but not all. Know that there may be stinkbugs depending on the time of year, but the house was overall very clean. Would recommend.
