Superhost: recognising the best in hospitality
The Superhost programme celebrates and rewards Airbnb’s top-rated and most experienced hosts.
As a Superhost, you’ll have more visibility, earning potential and exclusive rewards. It's our way of saying thank you for your outstanding hospitality.
Welcome more guests
Attention from guests can lead to more bookings for Superhosts — and more money in their pockets.
Get special recognition
Guests trust that Superhosts are the best of the best and seek them out using the Superhost search filter. Our promotional emails and Superhost badges help them stand out even more.
Access exclusive rewards
Superhosts earn a $100 USD Airbnb coupon every year that they keep their status. And when they refer a new Host to sign up, Superhosts get an extra 20% on top of the usual referral bonus.
How to become a Superhost
Every 3 months, we check if you’ve met the following criteria for the past year.* If you do, you'll earn or keep your Superhost status.
4.8+ overall rating
Superhosts have a 4.8 or higher average overall rating based on reviews from their Airbnb guests in the past year. Guests know they can expect outstanding hospitality from these hosts.
Superhosts have completed at least 10 stays in the past year or 100 nights over at least 3 completed stays. Your guests can feel confident staying with an experienced host.
<1% cancellation rate
Superhosts cancel less than 1% of the time, not including extenuating circumstances. This means 0 cancellations for hosts with fewer than 100 reservations in a year. Rare cancellations mean peace of mind for guests.
90% response rate
Superhosts respond to 90% of new messages within 24 hours. When guests ask you questions, they know that a quick response is only a message away.
Your questions answered
If you have to cancel a reservation because of an emergency or an unavoidable reason, check if the reason is covered as an extenuating circumstance. If so, you’ll be able to waive any penalties and your cancellation won’t count against your Superhost eligibility.
Make sure to contact Airbnb to file a claim within 14 days after you cancel the reservation (or before your next guest arrives). You may be required to submit documentation for Airbnb to review.
There is no minimum tenure to become a Superhost. As long as you meet all the criteria by the assessment period (which takes place every 3 months), you can earn Superhost status.
Every time we check that you’ve met the Superhost criteria, we look back over your past year of hosting to review your performance.
