Holiday rentals with lake access in Dartmouth

Perfect location! We were in Halifax for a family wedding, and were able to get around so easily from here. Any free time was spent gazing out at the lake.. a very peaceful and serene retreat

We enjoyed staying at Robert's fabulously decorated home. It is a unique home in a beautiful setting; it's not often we get to stay in a home with exotic birds, friendly ducks, and a dinosaur room. And Robert is an excellent host. It's a great location for seeing the area - many attractions within a 1-2 hour drive. We would stay here again if our travels bring us back to Nova Scotia.

We were celebrating a 50th birthday with a spa day nearby. The 4 bedrooms was a dream! The house had all we needed and then some. The host was amazing from beginning to end. Responsive. Proactive. Friendly. We spent 2 stormy nights and we're cozy the whole time. Thanks for the great weekend.

The spot was perfect for us, a great little cottage by the lake. The lake was gorgeous! Chris was very responsive for all of our changes in schedule and questions we had and even left us a little welcome gift of some snacks and drinks. It was incredible and we would stay there again! also it is much closer to Halifax than you think! Turn on tolls when looking because everyone uses the toll bridge and it's just 1.25$ at time of writing and it saves 20 minutes to get into Halifax!

Dave’s cottage was cozy, clean, and equipped with everything we needed for our stay! We had the pleasure of seeing two different geese families and lots of ducks and loons, too. Our toddler loved all the toys and books and we enjoyed the gorgeous views and comfortable furnishings. We really appreciate Dave’s hospitality and great communication. All in all it was a visit!

I do not have a lot of experience with Airbnb so I did know what to expect. This home and my interactions with the owner Deanna, exceeded my expectations. We needed a large place for our family as we where gathering for a sad event. We all fell in love with the house and Hubbards, any questions where responded with promptly. Deanna was always interested in helping and making our stay a positive one. I could not ask for a more gracious host and would love to stay here again. You can rent this home with complete confidence. If Airbnb ever needs an ambassador, Deanna could be it.

Absolutely gorgeous place, so peaceful and serene! Hot-tub area was honestly perfect. The weather wasn't the best during my stay but I was still able to enjoy the hot-tub with it being covered, and the lake is truly breathtaking in the rain.

We had a fantastic weekend staying at Karen and Dan’s! This is the second time that we go as a group of friends to unwind and have a relaxing weekend together at their place. We loved having a campfire by the water and getting to use the hot tub. We look forward to being there again!

Was exactly what we wanted, outside of the hub bub but close enough to the city to do everything we wanted to do.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! Everything was just wonderful - very comfy bed, delicious coffee, beautiful place and surroundings, even some sunshine showed up! We also really appreciated the bug spray, since we didn’t think of bringing any. We would definitely see if you have space, if we make it back your way!

Great place

We needed space that was convenient to our relatives and this fit the bill exactly. I'm sure it would be even nicer in the spring/summer/fall with the lake views. We didn't really use any of the facilities except the bedroom/bathroom which were excellent . Good parking, good location.

Beautiful basement suite with full kitchen, bathroom with toiletries, washer and dryer and a lounge room with streaming services and cable. Lovely setup with separate entrance for privacy, easy to find and easy instructions to get in. Snacks, juice and bottled water also provided. Would recommend. Only thing that would’ve been nice to have on hand would be a fan for the bedroom and a hair dryer, otherwise everything was great.

We stayed for a week at Treena’s place in Lakeview while visiting relatives in nearby Bedford, NS. We found the accommodations very nicely furnished, clean, modern, and well-equipped. The kitchen is small but functional and has most equipment one would need. The situation is very private and quiet, and we were able to use the wood stove, firepit, and gas grill. We found enough supplies like coffee pods, paper products, and dishwasher detergent to easily get us through the week. There are some lovely walking trails in the area, which feels more remote than it really is, but keep in mind that a car is necessary to get around. We would definitely stay again next time we Visit Nova Scotia.

Victoria has created such a cozy and welcoming space with an absolutely gorgeous view. Everything is spotless and pristine, the bed was super comfortable, and she has provided all you need for a home away from home. We enjoyed meeting her very sociable chickens and were able to truly relax in between our runs into Halifax for fabulous food, and a quick trip to Peggy’s Cove. Although our stay was brief, we had a simply marvelous time. Thank you so much, Victoria!

This was the most amazing place. We spent a week here and Everything you needed or wanted was right in this place. The surroundings were peaceful, very inviting. Gillian checked in with us halfway through our stay to see if we needed anything. The beds were very comfy. The firepit is beautiful there was a fully stacked wood pile to use for the fire. There were lots of chairs all around to sit outside or out by the the dock. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Gillian and Scott for your hospitality.

I had a wonderful stay here on my first trip to Nova Scotia. Maryanne's place was the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring and site-seeing. It was a bit tricky to find at night, but Maryanne sent helpful directions and was overall very helpful and communicative. The scenery was gorgeous and the cabin was very cozy.

The cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Great communication great service. We were there longer than most, but it was a very comfortable cottage.

This place was incredible! Close enough to Halifax to enjoy the city but remote and quaint to enjoy the seaside life. The accommodation was very well stocked with coffee, milk, bread, treats! Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay at Melanie's cottage. The cottage was very spacious, clean and had absolutely everything that we needed. (bottle of wine was a nice touch) Melanie was very responsive to our questions and responded right away. The cottage is on a busy street but is relatively quiet when you are on the beautiful front deck. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore the area.

My best friend and I stayed here with our kids and had a wonderful time! The view is amazing and we all enjoyed the wood fired hot tub very much. Plenty of bathrooms and space to hang out especially with two young kids. We would definitely book in again!

What a wonderful stay we had at the lake house! Coming from the US where the weather is already 95F, it was a fantastic way to beat the heat and spend time with family. Such a great location on the lake with peace and quiet (we live in large cities). The lake house itself is beautiful! Amazing glass windows give everyone the lovely views of Nova Scotia. The home is modern, spacious, and accommodated us all. Jolena is amazing! She’s responsive, friendly, and all around a lovely human being. We will be back!!

We had a wonderful stay at Doucette Lodge. The setting is beautiful on Lake Echo and the home is lovely. We enjoyed the comfort of the home and all the amenities it offered. It is conveniently located near the hwy to both Dartmouth and Halifax and a 10 minute drive to the ocean. We have been there before and plan to return. Nicole and Peter are very friendly and helpful and make you feel at home. We would highly recommend this home to anyone who enjoys a peaceful surrounding and beautiful scenery. Our group of 8 (plus a golden retriever pup) had an incredible stay at Stephen’s place. It was easy to find and checking in and out was seamless. The space was perfect for a larger group with all of the living spaces and seating, great for games and meals. We had all we needed in the kitchen for the group and even a welcome bottle of local cider. The outdoor space was great for our dog to run around and even get in a swim, a bonfire, and relaxing on the deck. A beautiful, homey place to stay inside and out. Stephen was quick to respond and accommodating to all of our needs! A perfect host!
