Perfect for a walking holiday, the Kirklees Way passes the property and the Pennine Way, Oldham Way are close by. A great place for mountain biking with the Transpennine Trail a few miles away and lots of cycle paths/trails on your doorstep. Local real ale pubs and plenty of cafes in Marsden village a short walk (15 minutes) along the canal. Beautiful scenery, views from the cottage are amazing.

We received a very warm welcome from Fiona when we arrived, the ‘check-in’ was smooth, clear and friendly and we immediately felt at home. The house is exceptional quality, located in a beautiful spot, drivable to local villages and also well located for easy motorway access. All rooms in the house are really well appointed with plenty of space for our family, including kids. We appreciated the little touches Fiona added, such as home baked goods, jams, eggs and chocolate. The house was perfect for our long weekend in the area, and we fully recommend this house to others - we would certainly like to return again.

High Barn cottage was such a great place - the house was spotlessly clean, Vicky was a great host, contacting us before and during to make sure all was well. We have 3 teenage children who loved the house and as it is so large each had their own room with plenty of space. The house is situated a short walk from the village which is beautiful. It is situated in a quiet, beautiful area from where the national park and other places can be accessed. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes around as well as a larger store for food shopping. If we visit the area again, we would definitely stay at High Barn again.

Beautiful, well equipped cottage in an idyllic location in Saddleworth. Friendly and responsive hosts. My only criticism is that the listing states the cottage has WIFI which it does not. You can just about connect to the host’s house from the kitchen but don’t expect much signal. That being said, we had a great time and will no doubt return.

Thank you our family had a lovely stay in your house. The house was as listed. Lots of interesting activities for our 2 year old and also for the adults in the group. The kitchen was well equipped and provided everthing we needed. Hopefully we will come back again. The Alpacas in the nearby field were an added bonus!

This is a wonderful home from home, perfect for a good rest, long walks, real fires and gorgeous surroundings. The place was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. The beds were so comfy with really soft bedding - we all slept really well. The host was very friendly and responsive. I would highly recommend this place.
