Holiday rentals with a kayak in Detroit River

Fantastic location! Feels like "up north" but only 1 hour from Detroit. Quiet, no-wake lake with large yard, fire pit, screened in porch and beautiful views. Highly recommend and plan to return next year.

Third year staying here. Close to great fishing and restaurants. Quiet for a good nights sleep after 10 hours on the water! Ashlee always works with you for special requests! Will book again next year!

We had a blast at Christina's listing! Everyone loved the house, comfy bedrooms, amenities (and definitely the beautiful lake front property!). We had lots of fun on the water swimming, fishing, boating, grilling in the backyard and generally enjoying the Michigan summer weather. Christina was also very friendly, helpful and proactive, even though our booking was pretty last minute. Christina's advice about the Brighton area also helped us when were looking for a restaurant she mentioned. We went to the restaurant and stumbled on Brighton's "Cowboy Boots Social" celebration that weekend, which had food, live music, things for kids to do, etc. We'd definitely stay here again, one of our favorites!

My girlfriends and I loved this cottage! The location was just as described and it was so beautifully furnished. Tons of nice amenities including paddleboards and 2 brand new kayaks. Nice neighbors and great neighborhood. Thank you for having us!

The place was perfect and very relaxing. Enough space for our big family plus grandma and grandpa. We all had fun fishing from the dock and playing on the kayaks. We even enjoyed a fire in the fire pit every night. Colleen was fabulous and made sure we had everything we needed!

I would like to thank Mariam and Her Husband for being such great hosts they were the best. First off, the home was rented at a discounted rate. I took my dad and family to this beautiful home for Father's Day. It was amazing, the beautiful views from sunset to dawn, especially the sun porch off of the bedroom, all of the rooms were wonderful, and the home was very neat and clean. We had a great time gathering outside with my dad barbecuing on the grill. They gave me an option of checking in early and let me check out late. The house is well equipped and stocked with everything needed fora vacation home including linens. I already have been referring this home to family and friends, and we took lots of scenic pictures It was a great experience watching the boats and people fishing daily. I will rent this home again.

Lyn was so sweet and her cottage is absolutely enchanting and peaceful. we had a 12 and 5 year old with us and y enjoyed fishing, s'mores by the fire, boating, swimming, and all the incredible nature all around. we caught video of two woodpeckers it a awesome! plenty of extra towels and linens for use if needed. I only wish there was a better couch in the living room so my family could be together the her when it was time to settle down. seriously the best vacation spot to disconnect and enjoy the moment. Thank you Lyn and Pete! we hope to be back again.

We loved our stay at Mandi’s place! Awesome lake access with boats and a dock, clean and spacious bedrooms, and a great kitchen/seating areas. It was perfect for us!

Wonderful home base to enjoy all of the fun of Kingsville - minutes from wineries, minutes from the restaurants, butcher and farm stands of Kingsville, 30 minutes from Point Pelee national park - you won't run out of things to do. I liked the comfortable shared space and the kayaks and bikes provided with the home. A fun, family-friendly location.

Wonderful stay in this space! Everything was exactly as described, and the water views from the bedrooms were lovely. Bright, open, and inviting space. Well stocked kitchen and linens. Loved the kayaks, and the fire pit - so nice that dry firewood was included. We don’t make use of the game room, as the weather was perfect for relaxing outside, but it looks like a lot of fun! Very clear instructions, and friendly and responsive hosts. Would definitely stay here again!

We found Paul's place to be cozy and clean. Amenities and furniture listed are all there, and in good working order. The lakeview from the photos are exactly that - unobstructed view out to the lake. The first day we were there the weather was quite rough, so the lake looked like something from a storm movie and it was very windy. The second night was much calmer, and our kids were able to go down to the private beach which they enjoyed a lot. The wind from the first night helped a bit with the bugs but the second night it was unbearable to go out at all. We searched and found it is a common thing for the area in May. Nevertheless didn't affect us had BBQ and hot tub earlier in the late afternoon, so plan accordingly if you are in the area around this time. There are additional off-site check-in and security deposit required, including uploading a copy of your driver's license to a 3-party site. I didn't like this part but they included this in their listing so we were aware.

Wonderful location wonderful view of the water beds were super comfortable. Location was very remote yet very close to everything. It was a wonderful experience for people who had never stayed in the area before.

Very beautiful location. Gorgeous water views and near restaurants, park, and ferry. Was a little overwhelmed by the fish flies when we arrived. They were everywhere- sticking to everything- and we did not know about their abundance this time of year. It made it difficult to sit outside and relax. Other than that, the place was comfortable and has everything you need for a lakeside stay.

My brothers and I with our significant others always get together for a weekend at the Renaissance Festival in Holly and this was literally the perfect cabin for us - close enough that we could go to and from if we needed a break during our long days at the Faire and peaceful enough at night to come back to and relax or play games like we love to do together. Plenty of space that we could all have beds and felt cozy. The lake is beautiful this time of year and even was warm enough that we could have swam after if we wanted or weren’t warn out from our long days. Parking was easy to figure out even with four vehicles. Host was responsive and super helpful and even allowed us to check in early when we realized that we would rather all drive in together last second. (Whoops! Poor planning on my part.) There was even provided water which was lovely as well, and a really nice touch when it comes to well water! Thank you so much and we will be back!

Jerald's place was amazing. Very clean, beautifully decorated and cozy. Kayaking on the canals and out to the lake was relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching boaters go by and the firepit area was cute and private. If you're thinking about staying here, just do it... you'll be happy you did! We can't wait to come back and stay 2 nights, 1 was not enough!

Staying at Matthew's Place was a delightful experience for us. Nestled in the charm of the 1950s, this fishing cabin brims with character. It's cozy and quaint, yet it doesn't skimp on cleanliness or convenience. Located near the enchanting Village of Clarkston, it offers easy access to local neighborhoods and the downtown area on foot. The serene lake, adorned with ducks, swans, and turtles, provided a peaceful backdrop to our stay. Rick managed to catch a big large- mouth bass, which, in the spirit of catch and release, was returned to its aquatic home. We took advantage of the canoe for a gentle paddle on the lake. We brought our own life vests, though Mathew does provide everything we needed. Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and we wholeheartedly recommend Matthew's Place to singles, couples, and small families looking for a quaint getaway with a touch of adventure.

The cottage was clean, cute and had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

To say we enjoyed our stay is an understatement! The cottage is so much larger and even more comfy than I anticipated! The space has two eating areas inside, as well as a large picnic table, Tiki Hut, expansive dock, and fire pit right outside your door. The space was very clean and had everything we needed for cooking and enjoying our stay. There are so many interesting books, games, and treasures to explore, such a unique space is hard to capture in photographs, but I think that is part of the magic. Coffee and tea on the dock in the morning was very peaceful and we have incredible memories of watching the many species of birds nesting in a protected migratory area right on the banks of the river just before sunset. We eat the freshest corn we have ever tasted, gifted to us by Maryann as well as many other small gifts that made the stay so chill and comfortable. Maryann and Brad are super friendly but also very respectful of your privacy. The perfect hosts and really good people.

It was everything and more for what we were looking for in a weekend. Close proximity to lakes, fishing, and modern conveniences, but still separated and immersed in nature. The cabin itself has an aura of closeness to it. The kitchen was well stocked for use, and if we didnt have what was needed already, many before us left things to carry forward. The beds were a dream, and family tine in the living room felt more I solved than our own home. It was a surreal place to be with my family.

Kira and Morgan were fantastic hosts, going above and beyond multiple times throughout the trip. they offered great local recommendations, fantastic communication. great place to stay for a small family or would be great for a few girlfriends getting away to stay on the water
