Cottage holiday rentals in Dorstone

Lovely stay, stunning gardens - would have been good to know there are other holiday lets immediately next to the property the listing does give the impression it’s totally isolated but thankfully there were no guests in the other houses while we were there.

Dawn was friendly, helpful and the cottage was delightful. So quaint with lots of gorgeous little touches

Wow! What an amazing weekend. Susan's cottage was peaceful, had everything you need and she made us feel right at home. Nothing was too much for her to organize for us and for my mum's 70th birthday. Truthfully think the cottage and surroundings are even better than the photos showing it. It was difficult to leave the peace and quiet this morning and the hot tub was an amazing benefit, spent every night in it. Thank you Susan and family for a fabulous weekend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Good Life. The space was well maintained and felt like a home. We made the most of the hot tub and kitchen facilities during our stay. The location is beautiful and peaceful. Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet trip away with a partner or close friend.

Had a lovely couple of days at Hlolly Barn. It’s a beautiful property in a gorgeous spot. The weather was fantastic which made everything even better. It’s really very easy to explore some superb walks and trails across the common and downs. Brockhampton Estate is well worth a visit too. Sarah is very friendly and it’s great to know she is next door without being intrusive. Loved it!

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Coals View. Firstly Tom and Louise were very helpful with directions and instructions and couldn't possibly do enough. It's a gorgeous property and immediately felt right at home and very relaxed. Place was spotless. Had everything I could need and more for my stay. Lots of great little touches, clearly with guests in mind. Lovely garden area to sit and relax, and the hot tub was a lovely treat in the evening. Felt very private and was left to my stay, but I know I could contact them at any point if needed. Would gladly returned, and have already recommended to family. Thanks so much.

Amazing stay at the Yarlington Dairy. The cottage was stunning and had everything you needed. The views were magnificent and the cider was also lush! Laura was a wonderful host, super friendly and very responsive. Thank you for a great stay celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary! 🤩 x

Absolutely beautiful cottage, the river was just lovely along with the views. Rooms were also very nice. We needed some help with the hot tub and Angela was very attentive and helped us as soon as we needed her :) Plenty of games provided and restaurant recommendations etc. Overall a lovely weekend would definitely recommend! <3

We spent a blissful week at Badgers End Cottage and from the first instance fell in love with the surrounding secret woodland and beautiful gardens. The Cottage was so cosy and calming, the birdsong was so audible. Carol was the loveliest host you can ever imagine. We were given a tour of the private woodland and her passion for her garden and the wildlife was very inspiring. Carol even made me an incredible cake for my birthday which was such a lovely surprise. We would highly recommend a stay in this picture perfect Cottage…the perfect base from which to explore The wonderful Wye Valley.

Beautifully decorated cottage which was spotlessly clean. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Very spacious cottage with all equipment we needed for cooking. Matthew was very responsive when we wanted to light the fire one evening. We absolutely loved the location, with walking, cycling and activities close by (canyoning and zip wires) The New Inn is metres away and was very welcoming with super tasty food We’ll be back! This place is so lovely! Host Meng was so kind, even putting some beautiful flowers in the cottage for my birthday ❤️ the view is spectacular, it's one of the most peaceful places I've been. Hot tub is great fun, the kitchen has got everything you need including washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. The bed was comfy, plug sockets everywhere you'd want them and usb sockets. It was great to see how dog friendly the place is with throws for the couch, fenced garden and fixed stairs gates. I highly advise popping into Jolter Press Cider bar/shop and getting some food from the local Chinese takeaway. Also a walk to St Anthony's Well, there's some step incline/declines on the walk there but it's beautiful and you have to take a dip! We also went to the Three Choirs Vineyard that was beautiful and good fun too. I would definitely come back and I think it would be equally beautiful in any season, our summer trip was fantastic but I'd love to see it in autumn or winter too.

We loved Kathy's place. It was a perfect location, light and airy, comfortable, well equipped and clean. My only comment would be the single bed would probably work better for a child than an adult - otherwise it was perfect. Kathy was helpful and quick to respond.

Station House has been sympathetically restored and its history is well documented in the many photographs dotted around the place. It’s also a wonderful little oasis for visitors and wildlife alike with lots to explore right on the door step. Station House is 100% recommended for anyone looking for some R & R.

What a beautiful home! We spent 3 nights here and absolutely loved it! The home was very well decorated and had everything we needed! The bed is huge!! The surroundings are just idyllic and there are lots of lovely walks to explore. The local pub is fabulous and we had a great meal there. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Lovely cottage steps away from the main town of Hay on Wye. The cottage was cosy and well furnished with everything we needed, the garden was great to have for our dog. Great place and will definitely book again

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with freshly baked bread and a thoughtful basket of goodies — such a personal and generous touch. The space itself was beautiful, cozy, and spotless, with every detail carefully considered. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was our hostess. She was incredibly kind and welcoming — warm, helpful, and genuinely caring. It’s clear she puts her heart into making her guests feel completely at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to return. Highly, highly recommended!

Judith was great, as I had not read that the oven was a small box type. I brought a massive lasagne and I think it was slightly beyond the oven’s capability. After 40 mins when it was still not cooked through, I messaged Judith and she put it in her oven. She knocked later with my steaming hot perfectly cooked lasagne and a smile on her face. She was very helpful.

Staying at Susan’s magical vineyard cottage was an absolute dream. Tucked away in the stunning Welsh countryside, it felt like a peaceful retreat from the world—surrounded by nature, birdsong, and breathtaking views. Despite its remote location, I felt completely safe and cared for the entire time. Susan is truly a fantastic host: warm, thoughtful, and always quick to help with anything you might need, without ever intruding on your space. You can tell she’s poured her heart into creating a space that’s both beautiful and comfortable. The cottage itself is full of charm, with so many thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. If you’re looking for a magical escape with a host who genuinely goes above and beyond, this is the place. Can’t wait to come back!

A peaceful and secluded cottage but still close to lovely walks, shops and restaurants. It is a very well equip cottage. Everything I needed in the kitchen and lovey shower rooms. The door ways were a bit low for my 6ft 4 ins partner but that was the only issue.

Absolutely fantastic base for exploring Hay-on-Wye! The cottage was beautiful and full of charm, we loved being able to return here after being out all day. Well stocked with EVERYTHING you could possibly need, and the bed was the comfiest bed I've ever slept in whilst away from home. We would definitely return here when coming back to the area, and although those stairs are for the faint hearted the layout was fun, quirky and we loved it. Thank you for the milk and Welsh cakes too, that was a lovely touch.
