Holiday rentals with lake access in Eastern Province

Fantastic home and some great help from Danuo and Praba who cooked some fantastic food and were always there to help and offer services and information . Praba was a great Caddy ! Overall a fantastic host, house helps and definitely recommend for families and friends coming to Victoria

Dimuthu was a great host. The moment we enter the place he gave us a small tour and took us to a private waterfall next to the house. He was kind enough to show us around, recommend restaurants and tuk drivers. His family was always nice and we even got some food one day, really friendly people. The house itself looks like the pictures, it is really spacious, there’s a fish tank!, it’s a really peaceful place to stay. My favourite part was the privacy of the place, just accompanied by puppies, monkeys and fireflies. It was a pleasant stay and Dimuthu was a great host.

Hasitha was a thoughtful host of our well-being. He was responsive and communication was easy with him. The place matches the photos and you can watch a lovely sunset over the rice fields with amazing wildlife. I would recommend it!

A hidden green gem within the town center! We had a lovely stay at Teena's. The warm welcome and king coconuts during check in set the tone for a very homely stay, this place was exactly what we needed during our stay. It was quite central and it was ideal to explore the local town center. Teena was very accommodating to last minute changes due to some delays. The place was very clean and was exactly as it was in the pictures. Loved the minimal and tastefully decorated space, definitely will be staying here without any hesitation the next time we are back in Batti! Thank you for being a great host!

With absolute satisfaction i rate Tharshan’s place with 5 stars. Very friendly, responsive and attentive host as well as his Brother Kamal who was the local contact person. Kamal gave a lot of information with contact details to make sure our trip was going good as well as assured safety, he even checked on us whether we got back home after we checked out from this place. House was clean and tidy, and kitchen was equipped with all necessary utensils even with grocery items which was so hassle free while we came in with kids. Location was convenient as there were couple of local shops for basic needs. 5 stars for cleanliness, assistance and location!

Responsive and cost-effective

We ( family with kids & elderly parents) enjoyed our stay. The location was as described and ever more beautiful & serene than the picture. Very self sufficient cosy rooms, had all the amenities as described. The property caretaker was very friendly, always willing to help and make our stay comfortable. He went to the fish market especially for us, since we requested local fish curry for dinner. He treated us with home made sweets & savouries on New year morning. He went above & beyond to ensure my kids & elderly parents were comfortable. We enjoyed the generous portions of dinner & break fast cooked by the caretaker. Close to all the attractions in Ella. Will definitely recommend this to place to my friends & family.

First, the essential comments: the place was Clean, Comfortable and Convenient: The Three Big C's for a good homestay experience ). It looked and functioned as advertised in the listing and photos, and I truly feel as if I got much more than I paid for, due to a crucial factor: I arrived in a limited mobility state, several days before a caretaker friend joined me. I was compromised to a degree both physically and mentally. Wthout the caring, kind and generous attention of the host family to my welfare and well being, they who lived in the same domicile on the floor below, my experience at Chandrakanthan's place would have been very different indeed. Batticoloa is an exceptionally beautiful town with lots to offer visitors of all ilks and inclinations; so, without reservation, I offer Chandrakanath and his wife, Priya, my absolute highest recommendation for a pleasant and rewarding homestay experience in a delightful environment. Mark my words: you will be glad you did.

We booked Cheshan's place in less than 12 hours before arriving. The host quickly replied to our questions. He and the caretaker were very helpful and agreed to take our luggage for storage before checking in. The place itself is lovely and within walkable distance to the center and the lake. The apartment is in the new building with underground parking and a pub nearby. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Highly recommend this apartment for fellow travelers.

The place was clean and host was very responsive and quick to meet our requests after check in. The rooms are spacious clean and calm. Living area and kitchen were also tidy. Overall the stay was worth what I paid for

Great place close to the city yet quiet. The host is very responsive and helpful with everything. Heater and hot water, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, very spacious and bright. The furniture is a bit old fashioned but everything works. I would recommend it.

We had a lovely time. We stayed at the cottage. The property is lovely and the meals are great. We enjoyed the beautiful natural pools that are very nearby, and if you are in Ella for hikes and nature, this is a great place to stay. But if you want to be near the train station and town, you may want to look somewhere there. This is in the mountains, which is what we were looking for.

We really loved Anushka’s place. We messaged her the night before as we decided to extend our stay, but our accomodation for the first night only had one night available. Mark came and met us from the bottom of the road the next morning when our driver wasn’t sure where it was. Him and his parents were so lovely and helpful. They made a fire for us and offered us bikes to use if we wanted as well as offered to cook for us. They let us do our washing and provided us with all the crockery for breakfast. The house was within walking distance to the lake and there are lots of great restaurants nearby. We really liked Themperadu. Was a gorgeous place to stay and would definitely return there.

This beautiful cottage is small, and perfect for a small family. Since Nuwera Eliya gets a bit cold at night, the cozy bed rooms and the blankets provided by Thidasala came to our rescue. His father took care of us so well, since Thidasala was not in town when we visited. We appreciate that. The view from the room of the Gregory Lake is brilliant. The wifi is good. We had a small kitchen as well. The bathroom was clean and we had hot water. This place is perfect for a small family who wants to enjoy the city, and not be in the rush. Their hospitality was amazing. 5 star from me.

Ajith’s father Mr. Premadasa was very helpful and co-ordinating… He helped us out in preparing barbeque and responded to every query of us… We had a great stay and i would certainly recommend all to stay at this place when in Nuwara Eliya.

The property matched all the photos listed, and if anything, it exceeded our expectations. The stunning landscape and the beauty of the surroundings made our stay feel like a dream. While public transport options are limited, having a private vehicle is the best way to reach the property comfortably. Once there, you'll be able to fully enjoy the tranquility and breathtaking views. I highly recommend this property, particularly for families or groups seeking a peaceful retreat. We would love to return again in the future!
