Lovely house, Well kept. Walkable distance to Barnard Castle to restaurant and pubs and we stayed for a Wedding at Runa Farm which is 2minutes along the road. Easy check up and got an early check in.

Lea Cottage in Romaldkirk, Barnard Castle

KirstyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We've just had the loveliest week at Lea Cottage in Romaldkirk. From the moment we arrived, it felt like home—cozy, welcoming, and beautifully kept. One of our favourite things? The garden, which gets sunlight all day, making it the perfect spot for a morning coffee or an afternoon of unwinding. We were lucky with the weather but there is would love to come back in a cooler month so we could make use of the fire. The location couldn’t be better. The Rose and Crown is literally steps away, and if you’re after delicious food and a friendly atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot —we found ourselves going back more than once! On top of that, the cottage is in easy reach of all the wonderful attractions Teesdale has to offer, making it an ideal base for exploring. The village itself is full of charm, with scenic walks and a lovely sense of history. We’ve had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay and would absolutely love to come back.

Luxury 4 Bedroom Cottage next door to Pub

FionaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A great house in a gem of a village 15 mins drive from beautiful Barnard Castle. Great pub for food in village, cafe and wee shop, plenty to do in Barnard Castle, Bowes Museum, and lovely walks in the area. Perfect house for two families, dogs allowed. Well kitted out, and great host. Only shame is there's no Garden. Otherwise top notch.

A truly stunning property, tastefully decorated and beautifully appointed. Middleton is a great place to stay: lots of tea rooms, dog friendly pubs with good food and easy access to fantastic walks. Pauline was the perfect blend of an attentive, thoughtful and laid back host. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Woodcroft Farm-secluded-scenic-peaceful-relaxing

SusanRating, 5 stars6 days ago
A lovely relaxing stay at this wonderful peaceful cottage. Felt like a home from home, so much so that we've just booked to stay again in July! The cottage had everything we needed and more. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, very quiet, near a good market town with independent shops (butcher, baker, vegetable shop, craft shops). Within easy reach of lots of places to visit in an area of the country that we hadn't really explored before - went on a guided tour of Durham Cathedral, rode on the Weardale Railway and visited Beamish Living History open-air museum. Lovely to meet Sarah, very welcoming and enjoyed talking to her - thank you for the cakes. Sarah sent good recommendations before our trip for food so we could book, including Buen Appetito in Wolsingham and The Fox and Hounds in Cotherstone.

The cottage was beautiful and we loved our stay there. The location was perfect for walks and exploring the area. The cottage was very well equipped with beautiful soft towels and luxury linens, the bed was very comfy too! It really was a home from home and we not hesitate to stay here again.
