Overall great stay and comfortable for our group. However some cautionary items to be aware of. The driveway to reach to the top of the property is quite steep, and in the rain the car skidded and wouldn’t get to the top of the hill. Need to have a vehicle if you’re going in and out with luggage. Good bit of wildlife you will encounter in the rooms and bathroom. There is only a hot water heater in the main bathroom.

Great location, a short walk from the beach. Spacious bedrooms and living area. Maud is a very considerate and accommodating host.

Chris is the Man! For context, my girlfriend and I had another bnb in the area that lost power and water for 2 days! I had to book an emergency stay and Chris accommodated and responded swiftly even though it was very short notice. We fell more in love with his property than our original one lol. 10/10 stay loved the vibezz.

We absolutely loved our stay. The 15 minute walk to the beach and restaurants was easy and always full of adventures. The backyard is an oasis where you never knew what to find. We watched groups of monkeys hang out. A sloth chill for the day. Macaws 🦜 fly by and endless amounts of hummingbirds feed on the foliage around. It was such a peaceful yet convenient location that made us not want to leave.

Carlos and Val were great hosts! They had so many great recommendations for food and activities and helped with transportation. The place was beautiful as depicted in the pictures too. Very responsive if you needed to reach them.

Lovely place. As someone who used to live in Atenas I can’t imagine a better place to stay and experience it. Beautiful views, great pool and porch, big bedroom, hot water, and everything is spotless. Edward is a good guy and leaves you a paper with everything you need - contacts for taxis, restaurant recommendations, etc. He knows the area well anything you need just text him. I can’t wait to come back. Thanks Edward!

From the first time meeting Mira & Michaela (the owners) we could feel how much they truly care about their guests and their surroundings. A beautiful touch was having the lovely staff deliver breakfast to us that is made by the owners. Each morning we got to sample something different and all of it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented; this was. a real treat for us and so helpful especially for a shorter stay. We loved waking us to the sounds of the jungle. The grounds were being shaped and groomed while we were there and visually this place is very special. Thank you both for your wonderful hospitality and genuine care.

Jenn and Danny have created an incredibly tranquil, relaxing, and private experience with this property - I cannot recommend it enough. The bungalow itself is modern, clean, well-designed, and overall a comfortable stay for multiple days. The outdoor area is the true stand out - we had an abundance of amenities to enjoy, from the pool to the rustic hot tub to the hiking trails ending in gorgeous rainforest and mountain views. The property is well-maintained by the staff, and the greenery is breathtaking and full of color (the pictures don’t do it justice!). Jenn and Danny were incredibly responsive and proactive in their communication, and even stayed up to ensure we checked in okay after a late flight. The bungalow is a ways off of the main road, so be sure to download maps for offline use and take it slow on the bumpy roads, but the drive itself is beautiful and a unique experience in itself. We truly enjoyed every part of our stay, and cannot wait to return! Thanks again!!

Our stay here was amazing! Chris and Hollie were extremely responsive throughout our entire stay and provided great recommendations for local restaurants, activities, etc. We highly recommend a 4x4 if available for the drive and enjoyed the scenic views along the trip up the mountain. The house is perfectly designed with modern features and everything you need to ensure you feel right at home. The back porch was incredible for morning coffee and enjoying the views of the beach and jungle, while listening and seeing the wildlife surrounding us. We were extremely comfortable during our stay and enjoyed opening up the doors at night to let the cool ocean breeze pass through. What makes this place extra special is Chris and Hollie. We enjoyed getting to know more about them, the property, their vision for future projects, and you can see their genuine joy for hosting guests. They were readily available when asking questions and made sure we were comfortable. Thank you for a great trip!

This Airbnb is absolutely magical. The views are stunning and Victoria is such a gracious host. She and her husband went out of their way to make me feel at home and make sure I was getting full use of the amenities. Everything was so comfortable and thoughtful. And their property has some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen! Couldn’t recommend more!

Our family stayed for ten nights as a home base to explore the Pacific side of Costa Rica. The pool was fantastic! I especially enjoyed the bottom pool that doubles as hot tub (when my kids weren't in the upper half splashing the cold water into it). The pool is very large with lots of space for splashing, and there is so much wildlife and bird-watching off of the amazing porch and decks. We were mesmerized by the scarlet macaws that flew by and sometimes roosted nearby. Being in the mountains, you are literally in the clouds. It was other-worldly when they rolled in most afternoons. So cool! Indoors: we utilized the kitchen quite frequently, making dinner every night. Kitchen was well stocked with supplies for cooking. The living area was very comfortable and great for watching TV together in the evening. Bathrooms and bedrooms were well-appointed with what we needed, and the washer/dryer was great to have, as we are light packers and did get muddy some days. Overall a wonderful stay!

We loved Pablo's place, especially the beautiful plants inside and out. We loved the area and found 2 great restaurants in the short time we had to spend there. The bed was super comfy. It was a perfect place to stay the night before catching our flight the next day. We'll definitely stay here again when we come back!

Words truly can’t express how amazing my 25th birthday trip was, and so much of that was thanks to our incredible host. From the very beginning, he was beyond helpful and responsive. He assisted us with planning our excursions and personally arranged all of our transportation—whether it was for activities, food runs, or grocery shopping. He even recommended amazing local restaurants that we loved. One night, my friends and I were up late and starving, and without hesitation, he DoorDashed us food—something we’ll never forget! When we lost a key, he arrived within five minutes with a replacement. His level of care and attentiveness was unmatched. The home itself was spotless, the pool was beautiful, and all amenities worked perfectly. I also hired a private chef on the first night, and the setup was seamless. the host surprised me with birthday decorations and a cake, which made me feel truly celebrated. We even got to see wildlife like monkeys during our stay, a unforgettable experienc

We have enjoyed our stay at Chris’s place a lot. It truly felt like a home with lots of appliances and all was super tidy and clean. I will be staying here again for sure! Thank you Chris :)

Our family really enjoyed this home - especially seeing the monkeys, having great swings for our daughter to play on, and an amazing rooftop view!! When the pool pump was not working properly, Rafal was there very quickly to fix the timer and was very personable. When in this area, we would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at this property. Everything was just as it was in the photos, very clean and comfortable. My family had a great time and Jose, the host, was super attentive and kind at all times. Highly recommended!

This is such a beautiful, comfortable, and clean home with wonderful views. We spent 6 nights exploring Atenas, and this home is convenient to town and several other attractions. The hostess has a book for guests with great suggestions for what to do and see while in Atenas.

It's a place to enjoy

Great location. About 30 minutes to the beach, 2 hr drive to the volcano. However it was closed due to it being active when we were there. Rescate Wildlife Rescue was a nice last minute add to our trip. Great place to see local wildlife.

My family and I enjoyed the place very much! It is insanely beautiful, house decor is so unique and very comfortable and friendly people! The only one thing I would say is that in the House photos looks like there’s rooms outside however those are extra cabins in the same property(reserved separately) This home is only 3 Bedrooms, each bedroom has a bathroom which is so nice!

While many other reviews mentioned it, I’ll have to note here again: the view is amazing. I enjoy taking so many photos through out our trip as the view is spectacular and it chnages quickly at different times, different weather. The weather has been kind to us so it only rained very hard mostly at night and few hours in the afternoon (mid June). Sitting out on the deck in the morning is peaceful and not too cold. All of the descriptions are accurate. The road coming here is rough but so is almost everywhere else in Monteverde. Definitely one of the best Airbnb places we’ve been.
