Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Ella

The hosts are a delightful family who also live there. Never met Nishan who is simply a front man for the listing. Would recommend booking via Bookingdotcom for a much better price. A mistake that we learned from. Property delightful and also host family who also live there. But Nishan describing the listing as the entire property is simply not true! Buyer beware.

Dimuthu was a great host. The moment we enter the place he gave us a small tour and took us to a private waterfall next to the house. He was kind enough to show us around, recommend restaurants and tuk drivers. His family was always nice and we even got some food one day, really friendly people. The house itself looks like the pictures, it is really spacious, there’s a fish tank!, it’s a really peaceful place to stay. My favourite part was the privacy of the place, just accompanied by puppies, monkeys and fireflies. It was a pleasant stay and Dimuthu was a great host.

Awesome Place was exactly that... awesome. between the stunning view, the pristine , quiet surrounds and the wonderful villa, this was a dream. 6 of us travelled here for some serenity and we found it. Krishan was a fantastic host in the restaurant and took good care of us. come for the view, stay for the food, atmosphere and team working here. a dream

Our stay at Uschi & Anith’s property in Ella was one of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka. Uschi was abroad during our stay and very communicative when we made our booking. Ajith was in Ella and we cannot emphasise how special he made our trip. The home is located in the mountains with the most incredible views (& peacocks!) It’s very peaceful, quiet & perfect for slow mornings or days around the house if you’re looking to relax. Ajith’s family cooked meals for us at the house when requested, and the local gardener who takes care of the house is very kind and respectful. Over our 5 day stay, Ajith made sure all of our tuktuk’s were organised at a very good price, since you need one to access the property. He seems to know everyone in town and gave us the most incredible tips & suggestions based on what we wanted out of our time in Ella. We were so well looked after & it was truly a highlight to spend time & learn from Ajith and to see the town through his eye :)

What an adventure. We were a group of friends with people of all ages and everyone loved the space. It’s not a child friendly place but kids (and everyone else) loved the surroundings,birds and views. We hiked to the neighboring hill and were rewarded with amazing views. The hosts are very attentive and dealt with any issues proactively. It’s not an easy location but one worth making the effort to get to. The house is beautiful and rustic. An outdoor bathroom isn’t the most practical but somehow adds to the house and we can see how it would be great on the summer. The kitchen had everything we needed, we cooked all our meals with ease, and the local housekeeper is perfect if you prefer not to cook, in fact having her cook for you is a great way of empowering her to create a better life for herself and her family. Jody and Punyaka were always responsive and we hope to have the chance to visit again, it’s not an experience we will easily forget! Don’t miss Diyaluma falls (take swimsuit).

We loved our stay in this clean and compact studio apartment. There is a beautiful view over the valley. We also really valued being outside of the hustle and bustle of Ella while still having easy access to the town - we had our own tuktuk making getting up and down very easy. It's a decent walk up and downhill if you don't have a vehicle, although there are also plenty of cafes and restaurants easy access along the road. You can also eat entirely at the Airbnb and the food was excellent. Host was easy to communicate with - we would highly recommend a peaceful stay here 💚

We had al lovely time at Amila’s place. The place is huge, very nice for kids, lots of room to play. Amila is extremely friendly and helpful, drove us around a couple of times and taught us everything about his garden. His knowledge of plants and fruits is remarkable. We were treated to fresh fruits daily and got a tour of his extensive garden. It is a little out of town, although close to the Nine Arches Bridge, so you could walk it if you like. Because we have kids we asked Amila to drop us off and pick us up. Highly recommend!

We met Aji at the property who was very friendly and accomodating. We really enjoyed staying here. It had great views, the property was spacious , clean and the bed was very comfortable. Thank you for having us! Kadie & Billy

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights and it was amazing! Ishari and her family is some of the warmest people I’ve met and they helped us with transport, different recommendations and a perfect breakfast. We really recommend this Airbnb!!

This was an amazing stay! I wish I stayed longer. The owners Asith and his wife have made a lovely piece of heaven in the mountains. The property and it's surrounding are a dream! The hosts are kind and made us a top notch breakfast. On top of that they are so accommodating and super hard working. There are some considerations when people choose to book, if you're bringing a mini van it's a bit tricky, but the owners make it work! But just keep in mind roads are narrow. They provide their tuk tuk to help as well.

My stay at this place by the water was simply & good. The natural sounds and the view of the temple create an peaceful atmosphere—perfect for relaxation. My host was fantastic!!!He speaks excellent English, gave me great tips, and even organized a full-day tour for me. He was patient, kind, and always helpful. The accommodation is slightly away from the tourist crowds—exactly what I was looking for. I stayed for two nights and was completely satisfied. The room had everything I needed, including a small balcony.

Oh I just loved this special place. I slept great and woke up to such a beautiful morning on my balcony. I had a tea while watching nature and taking it all in. The garden is very special and I was able to find such a moment of peace there.

Poorna's villa was beautiful. It was spacious, clean and with all basic amenties. Host was extremely friendly, and extended help in whatever we requested for , instance arranged laundry services etc. Breakfast spread was decent with coconut roti, breads, egg, juices, fruits, coffee/ tea. Poorna's wife also showed us how they make Srilankan rotis. Overall fantastic stay and highly recommend family with kids.

lovely property overlooking the hills , very clean , you can walk along train track to Ella but we went by tuk tuk, can be organised by your host . Breakfast was really lovely , they also made our dinner one night delicious and if you ask can organise a takeaway from a local restaurant. Really lovely peaceful stay would highly recommend

Beautiful place. Maintained very well and tastefully furnished. Had a very relaxed, comfortable stay, felt right at home. Super host!

The flat in Nuwara Eliya was perfect for what we needed: two nights in a clean and spacious apartment. The flat has everything you need to make you feel like home: comfy beds, TV with access to smart tv, great kitchen, fridge, etc. It’s also very close to the Gregory lake and an amazing cafe that we went to for the 2 mornings we were there: Ayurveda Coffee Shop. Communication with Jeni was fine too, although we never met, the arrangements to check in/out were easy and clear.

The apartment is nicely divided. Unfortunately, there were no basic things like another trash can in the bathroom or basic things like salt or pepper. It's ok for one night. However, if you want to be self-sufficient here, you really have to shop everything. Check-in went reasonably smoothly. We were quickly in the apartment. The apartment is quiet in itself. Unless there are festivals in the city, but here you can hear them relatively loud.

The Grand Winterbury apartment was a great find for us to stay in Nuwera Eliya. Not far from the city centre yet private location. The apartment was well maintained with functioning kitchen with necessary equipment to make tea or coffee and to make a small meal.

Jason’s place was the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Nuwara Eliya. We were a party of 4 travellers and loved our stay thoroughly! Highlights: - Central location; a 5 minute walk from the supermarket and restaurants - Spacious; comfortably sleeps 6 in 3 different bedrooms. 2 bathrooms makes life easy! - Comfy beds; slept like a dream - Fluffy blankets; warm & soft - Downstairs restaurant is delicious - Super easy check-in & checkout - Free parking on premises - Secure; apartment complex felt safe All round, we felt that Jason’s place was amazing value for money! 😁
