Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Esopus Creek

I was in town for a show at Bearsville Theater and spent the afternoon in Woodstock. The location was perfect. It was a short drive to the show and the center of Woodstock. I didn’t get to take advantage of the outdoor area due to the rain but it looked very peaceful and private. It’s a lovely space and I would be happy to book again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at Barbara’s place. Location is excellent, with amazing access to nature, walking distance to the Hudson River Brickyard Trail, Kingston Point Beach, the Rail Trail, and a nearby dog run. The house itself was spotless and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed, which we really appreciated (especially since so many Airbnbs can feel a bit bare). The space is also filled with books and art—you can tell Barbara put a lot of care into curating it. It felt like home right away. And to top it off, aside from the proximity to great walks, Barbara also provided a dog bed, bowls, ball, poo bags to make us feel truly welcome to have our dog with us. This was something we'd never experienced before. Thanks again Barbara!

What a wonderful, stylish home tucked away in the woods and with all the comforts of home. The indoor and outdoor spaces were both ideal for visiting, relaxing, and listening to music (what a sound system). It is perfectly situated close to Woodstock, Saugerties, Kingston, and numerous other attractions. Henry was a kind and responsive host, and always quick to respond to all of our questions. Highly recommended and a definite revisit next time we're heading upstate.

Cute accommodations in an idyllic spot. The airbnb is small but well set up so that it doesn't feel cramped. It has a number of other occupied structures surrounding it, but also lovely woods, rocky outcroppings, and the stream. Martine and her family (and pooch) were very friendly. Really enjoyed being such a short walk to the shops and eats of Woodstock, and so all the rest of the Catskills in driving distances.

Hana’s place is in a great location, close to local attractions yet tucked away in a peaceful area. The house had all we needed to make our stay comfortable. While there is no A/C, there were plenty of fans to keep the house cool. We just happened to be staying there at a time when temps soared. Nothing a little cold shower won’t take care of. We loved the retro decor and all the paintings and Knick-knacks that adorned the place. I would definitely recommend Grandma’s House for anyone visiting the Woodstock area.

Wow, what an incredible home! When they talk about a “rare find” this is what they mean. By far the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. The home itself is artfully crafted, and offers so much more than what initially meets the eye in photos. Every attention to detail made this stay magical. You can tell this home is loved, cared for and that guests are warmly welcomed to share its beauty. If you’re looking for a place that has exceptional vibes and puts you at peace, this is it. Liz offered wonderful local suggestions and clear concise instructions to make the whole experience a breeze. I would come back to stay here every time.

It’s one thing to find a comfortable place to stay on your trip, but quite another when the place becomes a highlight. Communication with William and Alexander felt more personal than one would expect. We felt more like guests than clients. All-in-all, this is one trip we would like to repeat some time soon.

Cute town for a weekend getaway. My boyfriend and I loved it and there were lots of pretty places to walk and drive and explore nearby.

Our stay here in Newburgh was lovely! This place was well-stocked, very very clean, fabulously eclectic, and spectacularly spacious! We loved having two restrooms and being so close to the river and to Hudson Taco!! As the Host mentions, do carefully consider how much you care about “neighbor noise.” While I brought slippers to kindly observe the “no shoes in the house” rule, the tenants above us rudely did not. We couldn’t hear voices, but the heavy footsteps kept us awake until 1 o’clock in the morning on a weeknight and woke us up at 6:30 AM on Saturday morning. The dog scampering around or crying and whining loudly every time it was left alone in the house was also hard to bear despite our bringing ear plugs. We would 100% stay again if Sarah would kindly have us. We’re sure to have more considerate neighbors next time. Thank you for creating such a lovely space at an affordable rate.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They were generous with providing goodies in the kitchen, which was well-stocked. It's a darker apartment but the deck outside was very cheerful as was their entire back yard right on the river. They even had kayaks and canoes to use and a lovely dock. Except for the busy street out front, it was just what we needed.

This condo is absolutely beautiful and comfy! We especially love the bed and pillows.

Agnieszka was easy to work with, and a very considerate host. The condo was perfect for us. We were especially delighted to discover a standard queen bed in a separate little bedroom, in addition to the living room sofa bed pictured on the Airbnb site. Everything we needed was available and easy to find in this thoughtfully equipped apartment. The setting is quiet and lovely. From our private balcony vantage point the nearby pool and pickleball courts appeared to be well maintained. If we have the opportunity to return to the Catskills/Windham NY area, we will definitely hope to book this condo again.

Luiza was a wonderful host. She provided detailed check in and out instructions, as well as local recommendations for our stay. Her place was exactly as pictured and cleaned wonderfully for our arrival. We hope to be back for another ski trip!

I highly recommend Suzanne's place for anyone visiting Windham! She was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and my stay. As someone who travels constantly for work, my schedule can be quite unpredictable, and Suzanne was unbelievably accommodating and flexible with my changing needs. I truly appreciated her understanding and willingness to work with me. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Windham, and the view of the ski resort from the back deck was an unexpected bonus! I only wish I could have stayed longer. I'm already looking forward to my next visit, not just for winter skiing, but also to explore the beautiful surroundings throughout the year.

What a lovely stay! Located in a very convent area, there was lots to do in the summer months (hiking, swimming in the pool, cooking marshmallows over the fire pit). The place was very clean and well kept. Loved the little journal to read about other’s stays!

Cozy apartment, walking distance from the water front. Had a great weekend getaway.

Gerry’s place was a great, quiet stay for us. Close by to Kaaterskill and many other Catskill mountain attractions. Gerry was great at communicating and went out of his way to be helpful with our checkout procedures. I would definitely stay here again!
