Stunning location and an amazing host. The house is located above the lake giving it a truly fantastic 180 view from the various terraces and outdoor spaces - including the lovely pool area. The host Jose is probably one of the kindest most accommodating hosts I’ve encountered. He lives next door and whenever we encountered a problem or needed something he was there to help - he even brought me a super bottle of champagne for my birthday:) The house itself is large and has a big open plan kitchen, dining & living room space (not ideal for working but a lovely social space). The bedrooms are all located in one wing with one upstairs (the one upstairs strangely does not have a toilet). The house needs a little updating and a few more creature comforts but Jose confirmed it is due for a renovation which will make the house as good as the view! The local town Istres is not the most beautiful but it has everything you need and we enjoyed our visits. Like other guests have said we felt very comfortable there so enjoyed hanging out at the villa most days. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would go back.

Guylaine & Frank are excellent hosts. They live in this peace themselves, which they offer to every guest. They are extremely discreet and unobtrusive, always looking out for the well-being of their guests. Both attach great importance to the care of their beautiful garden, which they have built with a lot of passion over many years. Her two cats and dog complete the whole Bijoux. Very nice house with a great garden, large terrace and great view of the lake. There is a narrow spot (gate) at the entrance, but it is also easily doable with a van. Well-equipped kitchen (dishes, sharp knives, glasses, spices, etc.). We made many excursions - e.g. Marseille, Saint-Marie-de-la-Mer, Nimes, Fos-sur-Mer, beach - and could reach everything well with the van. Upon our arrival, Christophe was not there in person, but Carolina welcomed us warmly and showed us everything. Christophe greeted us personally later and was also there when we left. He was easily accessible for us with questions, the communication went smoothly, even in English. We got the extra bed with mattress & high chair, which was great. The sleeping and living areas are well separated, so you can also retreat. We felt very comfortable in the house and can recommend the vacation here, but don't forget mosquito spray ;-)
