Situated in beautiful countryside of cork trees, olive groves and vineyards, on the foothills of the Serra D’ Ossa 20 km south of Estremoz. Ideal for sight seeing in a scenic and historic part of Portugal and within easy reach by motorway of Lisbon (2 hours) and Spain (1 hour). There are a myriad of activities to enjoy on the farm. For the walkers or mountain bikers there are kilometers of footpaths around the 540 hectare farm for you to explore and for those wishing to venture further afield, the nearby peaks offer unrivalled views of the surrounding countryside. Serra d’Ossa lies at 500 metres above sea level and boasting one of the driest climates in Europe. The absence of light pollution makes this an astronomers’ paradise. Twitchers can enjoy seeking out over 70 species of birds in the unique habitat provided by the cork forest, several of our past guests are members of the RSPB and have made lists of the birds they have seen / heard. Here is a list of a few: White Stork, Booted Eagle, Red Kite, Kestrel, Cuckoo, Tawny Owl, Hoopoe, Red-Rumped Swallow, Great Bustard, Little Bustard and Bee Eater. Visitors to the local damn include black winged stilts and the occasional avocet. Very occasionally, bustards can be seen in the lower plains. Within a one-hour drive from the farm, you can also explore nearby towns including Evora (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Estremoz famed for its Saturday morning market, Vila Viçosa with its two royal palaces, Reguengos and even neighbouring Spain. Historical tours of Evora can also be arranged through a private guide. Vineyards : While predominantly a hilly cork forest , a vineyard has recently been planted in an open valley producing Alicante Bouschet, Aragonêz, Touriga Nactional and Syrah quality grapes. Most of the grapes are sold; however a selection of the best quality grapes are retained for the production of a high quality red wine sold in Portugal under the Cem Reis label, and in the Netherlands under the Het Tientje name. This wine has been awarded silver medals in Wine Masters Challenge (Portugal), Mundus Vini (Germany), and Challenge Du Vin (France). Next year a white wine will also be produced from viognier grapes. Our wine and some products are available for purchase onsite.

Casa Teresa offers days of rest and comfort in the heart of Évora, just a few minutes' walk from the Chapel of Bones, Praça do Giraldo, the Temple of Diana and the Cathedral. It has a courtyard shared with Casa Carmo, separated by greenery, ideal for relaxing with an Alentejo wine. We do not have private parking, but you can unload your luggage at your leisure at the door of the house and then park in a paid parking lot approximately 300 meters away or in a free dirt parking lot outside the walls 450 meters away.

Monte Évora, if you like the countryside

This property is located in the open fields, two kilometers from Evoramonte s Castle. It is ideal for those who enjoy walking in the countryside. On our way to the village, one is bound to cross herds of cows or sheep, that might be grazing also in the field next door. The house construction is typical Alentejana, only the bathrooms were redone, and the really small windows were exchanged by glassed doors, so as to allow the light in and at the same time, enable the beauty outside to be seen.

Our house is in the family for more than 5 generations. Located next to the old train station of Vimieiro now deactivated, it's an example of the vernacular architecture from Alentejo, with large chimneys and white washed walls. The house is very close to the main cities and villages from central Alentejo, such as Evoramonte, Arraiolos, Estremoz and Évora. Only one hour and half from Lisbon, it's the perfect retreat to discover Alentejo wineries and enjoy the Portuguese countryside.

Welcome to Casa D'Avó Bá! Our house is located in the calm of the Alentejo countryside, just minutes from the city of Évora. Located in a village historically known for its cork industry, in Azaruja, the tranquility of the cork oak forest offers us conditions for our guests to enjoy the tranquility near the city. Our house is completely remodeled and has a nice garden. According to Notice No. 14503/2025/02, a tourist tax of €1.50/guest/night is required.

Quinta Alentejana

Farm with 4,000 m2, fully fenced. It has a house measuring about 100 m2 and a barbecue area measuring 25 m2, with a barbecue grill and a wood-burning oven. It has a storage room with a half bathroom and a large lawn. The garden also has a wooden shelter as a playhouse, a trampoline and a swing, which will delight the children. It has a 6 m/4 m surface pool and 1.2 m deep, with a salt-based water treatment system and a 5-action chlorine tablet.
