Farmstay holiday rentals in Far North District

I recently stayed 5 nights at Rangiputa Retreat. Steve and Vanessa were the most thoughtful, caring and hospitable hosts I've ever stayed with. From Vanessa dropping around eggs, muffins, oranges, battered fish, and sashimi, to Steves help with getting a snapper smoked, his great yarns and local fishing knowledge, that proved really helpful, and lending his surfcaster to my mate.Just awesome Kiwis and im glad to have met them. So thats the cherry on top of what was already a cracking great place to stay. Ideal for 2 or 3 fishing buddies to stay in what is an exceptional central location, to find a sheltered fishing pozzie no matter the weather. The kitchen had everything I needed, and it was nice that it was easy to keep clean. The bed was super comfy after a long day on the water. I've been coming to Karikari Peninsula for many years and finding this gem of a place has made my trip. Till next time.

This was the perfect base for while I was working up Kerikeri ways. And this time with a young puppy in tow it was just an awesome place to stay - he in particular loved the kunekunes, which actually were better at "sit" than he was! I think the cottage was just perfect for what i was after - having things like oil, salt, pepper and tea & coffee were an awesome touch, as well as the oranges! Made all the difference for someone who was looking for a home away from home. I will be back and highly recommend. The cottage has everything one would need and would make a great base for travelers and workers alike. Wifi was really fast and during rain days I managed to get a lot of laptop work done too!

This is a very nice place to stay. Great location. Lots of windows with lovely views, it felt private and safe. We enjoyed breakfasts made by Keri on the deck, and took a magical walk that she recommended!

A charming beachfront property with an old homestead along with a modern studio/cottage. We stayed in the cottage. It was well equipped with everything we needed. Sue and James were excellent hosts with plenty of local knowledge and great suggestions for activities with our children. The kids fished in the stream and played on the swings. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, kiwi holiday experience!

We had a lovely comfortable stay at the Fish'more cottage. Inger and Claes were very welcoming and friendly. The cottage is private, set away from the main house in amongst the orange trees. It has been very well planned out and beautifully renovated. One of the highlights was feeding the pigs.

Gorgeous! Well located, beautiful private cottage. You cannot go wrong booking with Steve, Dot and Charlie. Wish we had time to stay longer; will definitely return.

Superb little apartment - glorious view of sunrise over sparkling water. Sailboats bobbing on their tethers, cheeky air and land birds feeding and calling in the gardens at the edge of the deck. Comfy chairs positions with plenty of cushions and lap blankets to make the most of the setting evening sun on our backs. Bed was extremely comfortable, lovely bedding. Bathroom clean, spacious and very well appointed. Great BBQ, good 2 burner cooker, oven looked good but we didn’t use on this visit. Apartment was stuffed to bursting full of goodies to make use of - every drawer and the fridge filled with every implement/condiment/sauce/spice you might want to use. Manon and Neville were very generous, attentive hosts - thank you.

Wow. The Retreat certainly ticks all the boxes. Wonderful views over 2 stunning beaches. Amazing separate viewing deck with sun loungers to soak up the sun whist looking at that view. Luxury fixtures and fitting including thick fluffy towels and crisp white bed linen. Comfy beds and pillows Kitchen with all the kit to self cater including proper coffee machine. Quality outside sofas with thick cushions. 2 identical very private bedrooms with fly screens so the air flows at night, keeping the rooms cool and own large en suite bathrooms. Responsive friendly host. Best Airbnb we have stayed in for attention to detail. Thank you Angela

Such a cozy and welcoming stay! Shane was super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. He is a very personable guy who has a lot of knowledge and experiences to share. This is a great spot for travellers and those exploring NZ. We came in the winter time and the bedding kept us super warm. There is a heater in the room which works great, need to wait an hour or two to feel the room heat up. The shower gets super toasty too! The stay was even better than the photos and for the great price I can’t recommend it enough.

Willow is an excellent host. Great communication at all times. The accommodation was perfect with no issues at all. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended!!

The Chapel at Kohukohu is the perfect spot to enjoy the great outdoors. Amazing views out to the Hokianga and beyond. We could see the Vehicle Ferry on it's journey to and from Rawene/Kohukohu, in these beautiful clear autumn nights. This is a 'repeat visit' for us. A perfect location with an immense amount of New Zealand history. Great chatting to the locals down in the village too. Thank you Ashley and Bart for our enjoyable stay.

We had a great stay with Shane, the weather's wasn't on our side but we still easily explored Northland and then came back to a lovely warm cabin with everything we could need inside. Shane was lovely and great with communication. Would happily stay again

We were so comfortable; quiet, peaceful surroundings; well equipped kitchen with lovely surprise of duck and hens' eggs, organic milk, a variety of teas and regular and decaf coffee. Comfortable sofas and chairs with good back support. Great WIFI. Spotlessly clean throughout. Sister Irini and Prior Rob are warm, friendly people who make you feel part of the place. We won't forget our stay at this wonderful sanctuary. Highly recommend anyone needing a break from a busy daily life- you can really unwind here.

Lovely spot to stay, very peaceful and private. The sheep and swimming hole kept the young ones entertained. Jenny was amazing in accommodating our special requests. Would definitely stay again. Thank-you!

Wonderful stay to get lost in some beautiful landscape. The property was beautiful and perfect for us as it rained all weekend. We lit the fire and used the sauna to keep us warm. The space was clean and had everything we needed for the 2 nights we stayed for. Despite it being a one bedroom property it felt spacious enough for the 6 of us staying over.

Beautiful spot to relax, loved the open farm surroundings. Also the hotub under the trees was a magical experience. Definitly recommend!

It's unfortunate that five stars is the "default" review rating on Airbnb because it doesn't give you the opportunity to highlight those extra special stays. Haneka's place is worthy of all the five stars and then some. Haneka was friendly and accommodating, made us wonderful breakfasts every day, but respected our privacy and allowed us to enjoy the peace of the space at the same time. The space had everything we needed for sleeping, cooking and relaxing. Highly recommended.

The cottage had everything for a most comfortable stay and we both loved it. We loved the shell pathway, the views, the location, the walks - including the walk to the shoreline and boat shed! Would come again in a heartbeat! Thank you for your generosity!

Top House is on its own headland, super private and quiet. Incredibly peaceful outside and cosy inside. Spotlessly clean and has everything you need. A lovely, light and airy abode with breathtaking 270 degree views over the bays and only 7 mins drive from Russell and 15 mins to the lovely Sage restaurant.
