Family-friendly holiday rentals in Fox River

This was our second visit to Amanda’s and just like the first time, it left my boys with fun memories. We will be back next summer.

This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed at Drake House Properties, and my husband and I love it every single time!! This place was no exception to the others we stayed at the beautiful exposed brick, beautifully decorated, awesome location right in downtown Dubuque! The hot tub is amazing and the coffee shop right downstairs is DELICIOUS. I’m sure we will be back to stay again soon at one of these properties! :) we love the wide variety of things to do in/ and around Dubuque and this place is the BEST place to stay! Thank you so much Jenn for letting us stay at your properties multiple times! :)

This place was súper clean and beautiful. We were very comfortable and never heard the neighbors downstairs. The only thing that happened was the that the thermostat stopped working and they weren’t able to come and fix it. Then the bathroom switch kept tripping and we had to find the fuse box and various times the light didn’t work. But it was such a nice place and I would totally stay there again. We had a very comfortable experience.

Very peaceful to stay put here--bring what you need and stay in these beautiful surroundings among birds and gardens and an art-filled home. Or spend time on nearby beaches and trails, wander the nearby small-town shops and nice variety of restaurants and look forward to a hot tub soak and campfire. Donna's home is welcoming and inspiring!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The location and view were lovely and quiet. We especially enjoyed the wildlife from the deck and the hot tub! We even had a bald eagle visit for a couple of hours on the sandbar right in front of us. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. A very relaxing weekend!!

We had a wonderful stay at Daniel’s place! The house is beautiful and the view is stunning. It was really clean and felt very welcoming. We traveled with grandparents and kids and everyone found something to enjoy. The pool table was a huge hit, as was the badminton set and the multiple outdoor seating areas. This one is highly recommended!

We had a great stay here. We had a large party but felt like there was plenty of space to relax and spend time together. Kitchen was well equipped with appliances. Sound system was great! Lots of great games to play inside and amenities for the lake as well to use outside. Surrounding area is peaceful and relatively quiet. Easy to get to stores/shops via short drive.

The entrepreneurial village community is special, full of friendly daytime hubbub. The historic site is spectacular despite the challenging flights of steps up. The climb’s well worth it, but travel light. A two-level lodging arrangement, it was like having two apartments, each with partial “kitchen” (main cooktop and sink on third floor, breakfast bar with drinking water and coffeemaker on second). Each floor offers a comfy queen and 2 single beds plus bathroom, each level in an open plan— great for 2 close families that don’t necessarily require full privacy. Shower on second floor. Spectacular copper tub on third with oversized windows. Views of the water and grounds from many rooms. Lori has done a wonderful job fitting in modern amenities in a stone building that never anticipated plumbing or electrical. The little quirks remind you of where you are, in a mid-1800’s industrial building, without having to sacrifice your comforts. Lori has thought of virtually everything.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home tucked away in a peaceful rural setting. The house was full of charm and character, and the surrounding mature woods made it feel like a true escape. It's conveniently located near Three Oaks and New Buffalo, both of which offered plenty of great activities, dining, and local charm. Our dogs loved the space just as much as we did—especially the nearby dog beach! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and pet-friendly getaway.

Jamie was a really amazing host! She was friendly, helpful, caring and went over and beyond to make sure me and my kids were comfortable and had everything we need. Gave us lots of great recommendations to restaurants and as a first timer in Chicago she made sure I was aware of the traffic and other helpful information! My kids LOVE her she was vey nice, patient and gentle with them. Kid friendly house/area VERY quiet. The beds are the BEST after a long day of traveling very comfortable. The place was beautiful very nice decor and nicely maintained. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit to Chicago.

Wonderful home walking distance from town. We really loved the number of outdoor spaces to rest and relax with great views of the river. There are so many wonderful spaces outside to sit, swing and/or eat, as well as a fire pit/ring, and a wonderful screened in porch where we could enjoy watching the river even in the rain. Definitely recommend!

As soon as we walked in, the house felt like home. The house was very clean as well as towels and linens. Being the house was built long ago, it had charming features. We had a rainy day and had a blast staying in and playing ping pong and air hockey! Elaine was a great host. We ate at Fire on Fifth and Jorge’s Margaritas & grill. Thoroughly enjoyed both restaurants. Thank you Elaine!

We enjoyed our stay at the property. It is relatively near Richland Center if you need services, but far enough in the country that you won't know the city is nearby unless you go looking for it. The stars at night were gorgeous in the dark sky and we were able to take advantage of many of the Driftless Area's opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Absolutely love staying at Paul’s place. This was my fifth visit, and it’s always spotless, comfortable, and perfectly located. Paul is a fantastic host and makes every stay easy and welcoming. I’ll continue booking here every time I’m back in town to visit family!

This is our 2nd time staying at James's beautiful Galena home. James thought of everything. All the kitchen appliances that you need to make your meals. Plenty of room for everyone. James was quick to respond and very helpful. We plan to stay here again.

My girlfriends and I had a great stay! Ann’s place was peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing outside, watching the animals and soaking in the hot tub. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful place and gorgeous scenery right on the water. We enjoyed the stay very much, didn’t even feel like you were in the dells but still close enough if you wanted that experience. However, we enjoyed how secluded it felt. We would stay here again and recommend it to any of our friends.

Very cute corner unit. My dad would just sit out on the patio, watching people put their boats in the water and take their boat out of the water. Beds were very comfortable place was nice and clean. I would stay here again.

Lovely updated cabin among other cabins in resort on Lake Delton. Spent 3 days with my 2 sisters and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings as great getaway from, yet easy to reach Dells attractions. As summer fully starts next week I expect the place will be much busier as it seems a very good family resort with pool and playground for kids. Nice, sandy beach on lake a short walk away. There are stairs to access the cabin from the deck. Use key pad hidden behind upper deck screen/storm door. Lower level has nice extra family room to spread out guests. Bring Duraflame type logs if you’d like to use fireplace. We enjoyed that on a cooler night.

This was our first vacation as a family with a 5 and 3 year old. Our neighbors were lovely. The beach was a great addition. The place was pristine and exactly enough for us. Perfect location close to everything and the communication leading up to the vacation was top notch. We had chilly weather but the vacation was just what we needed. Amazing view and super relaxing (even with the kids!) will definitely come back!

Tom and Charyl were amazing hosts ! We had open communication throughout our stay and even got a tour upon our arrival. The airbnb was everything as described and more ! The pool was incredible and the airbnb was only a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach. They even had a binder of recommendations available to us of local attractions/things to do. Our expectations were exceeded for this trip, and we can’t wait to come back !
