Holiday houses in Freights Bay

Wonderful house with a beautiful garden. This was a perfect place for our larger group, given that there are plenty of common areas to hang out. Despite the heat, the house is bright and airy, with lots of ventilation and a pool to keep cool. The house has good proximity to beaches on the east and west coasts, as well as good proximity to Bridgetown and things to visit. The only thing we would say is that the beaches nearby seemed more suited for surfing or had lots of algae in the water (which is probably seasonal), which meant that we usually went to beaches a bit further north with the car. We were also very grateful for the welcome pack we received. Overall, we had a great stay and we definitely recommend this house for families looking to visit Barbados!

The description of this place does not do it justice. It's fantastically located in a relatively quiet subdivision of Oistons, only 12 minutes from Miami beach (arguably our favorite beach in Barbados). We are both avid joggers and there are places to run everywhere around the area, including a small, outdoor gym at Miami Beach. The house is so comfortable and spacious with an outdoor shower and mini pool to refresh after getting back from the beach. The kitchen is well-stocked; we cooked a lot and did laundry. Great hot showers. We both needed to work as well as the place has an astounding 600 Mbs speed. Allison is a gracious, attentive, and warm hostess with excellent recs around the island. Barbados is such an easy and beautiful island to spend time in, well-developed and rule-following. We will be back! Thanks Allison.

Very spacious and well equipped place. About a 15 minute walk to Miami Beach which our family really enjoyed! Waves on one side and a more calm bay on the far side of the lifeguard tower. We saw turtles and really enjoyed exploring the beach just across the street at the little beach access east of Freights Bay at low tide. It was too wavy to swim at Freights Bay when we were there but we loved watching all the surfers and watching the sun set. Great breeze on the patio and the dip pool was a big hit with the kids. A/C was great and beds were firm and super comfortable. 2 beach chairs, an umbrella and beach towels were helpful. We rented cars and it was a good spot to explore from. We felt very safe. A great home base for our Barbados adventure!

We stayed here after reading reviews about bugs and crabs and it being dirty. honestly was a little worried. We got there and realized it was because this is an open air home for the living spaces. We kept all food closed and away. The birds will just fly in and out and steal bread and fruit so I wouldn't leave the doors open if you are not paying attention. Ok now to the house, nothing short of amazing. The views and hearing the waves at all times was great. We traveled with a toddler and she slept with no issues. There are multiple refrigerators so groceries shopping and storing food was no issue. The location was quite and surrounded by very nice properties and people. There are a few walking distance places to eat and such, but if heading into Oistins its easier to drive. We will definitely be looking to book again in the future.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Patricia’s place. It catered for both having two kids (one of which was a newborn) and three adults perfectly. The bedrooms were huge and very comfortable with both fans and air conditioning. The place had all the amenities that made it a very comfortable stay. It is in walking distance to a beach but recommend a car if you do want to travel into the main part of town for food and the other beaches as the roads are not that safe to walk on as no footpaths. Patricia was a great host from the first point of contact to the final departure. Definitely recommend this stay to families.

Just finished an 8-night stay at Jay’s Airbnb property. A great stay from start to finish, with everything as expected. Despite being situated next to Jay’s home, it felt private and a very comfortable place to be. Jay was an excellent host, who made us feel super welcomed. We didn’t take the opportunity to use his surf school next door, but judging at how many people were visiting, it is just as professionally run as his Airbnb is. If you’re looking for a place to stay near to Freights Bay, I thoroughly recommend this accommodation! Thank you Jay!

Philip is a great host and quickly actioned the few extra requests we had. It's true that the bungalow is not pristine but the beds are comfortable, the air conditioning and fans worked well, there is usually plenty of hot water and a useful outdoor shower and laundry. The front porch is a lovely place to enjoy the morning sun, check out the surf and return the friendly greetings of passers by. We had a great holiday. Thank you Philip.

I highly recommend this property. We loved our holiday at Kaye’s and would definitely return. I’ve stayed at various locations on the island and this is definitely the best. It’s a spacious comfortable home from home, in a peaceful neighbourhood. The manager Allison was friendly and helpful, and she responded promptly when there was a minor problem (our fault!). The house was well provisioned, with good details like lots of spare towels, kit for the beach, plentiful crockery and utensils. There’s a lovely comfortable shaded outdoor seating area. The neighbourhood is quiet (just nocturnal cockerels and some barking dogs), the locals are friendly, and we were only 15 mins easy walk from the excellent Miami Beach, which has lots of shade, a calmer bay at the far end, and 2 kiosks selling drinks and lunch. Another 5-10 mins walk takes you to Oistins, with its fish fry, supermarket and the bus service.
