Studio Stroopwafel: near Forest, mountain view.
Our sunny studio Stroopwafel, is located in Berner Oberland in the village of Frutigen. The Studio (30m2 one big room) for max 4 persons is on the "ground floor" of our house and was built in 2011. There is a parkingplace next to the house and the studio, with its own entrance, is reached by a path through the garden. The studio has a large terrace (50m2, garden furniture available) with a stunning mountain view. The studio itself is simple, but nicely furnished and features an open kitchen (induction hob, fridge with freezer compartment and oven), bathroom (shower, washbasin, toilet), and sleeping facilities for max 4 persons (double bed and double sofa bed.) Large windows illuminate the entire studio thus enabling you to enjoy the mountain view from inside. Internet is available (WLAN). Children: For the children there are some toys and books available and a foldable camping bed. The studio is located on a dead end street (it turns into a footpath) so it is very quiet. The forest is also a wonderful place to play. Location: Our house is at about 900 m altitude, located on the edge of the forest. The access to street where we live is steep, so sometimes in winter if you come by car, there is a chance you will need a 4 weel drive or snowchains. A short (steep) downhill walk of 800 m takes you to the nearest shop (distance to the train station about 1.1 km steep downhill). It is very quiet (at night you usually only hear the flowing brook and the churchbell strike.) There are mountain hiking trails right on our doorstep, so you can take a hike from the studio and enjoy the outdoors. There also runs a 'vita parcours' through the woods next to the house (a route through the forest with different exercises to boost your condition). When you are in need of a break after a hike or a trip out, sit back on the terrace and relax, whilst indulging in a stroopwafel (dutch waffle) or head to the picnic area, just a few steps away from the studio, and have a BBQ. But you can also relax on the terrace and enjoy a book while you are eating a stroopwafel (dutch waffle) or roast a sausage at the picnic area a few steps away from the apartment Tourist tax Please note that there is an additional tourist tax of 4,10 CHF per person and day (1,60 CHF for kids younger than 16 and even 0 CHF for kids younger than 6 years old). in exchange you get a guest card (locally valid) providing some discount rates. Setting: Frutigen is located fairly centrally in the Berner Oberland and offers a whole range of excursion and activity opportunities for everyone: - For lovers of ski; slopes and trails are within 15-20 minutes away in several places (eg Elsigenalp, Adelboden and Kandersteg). - `In summer you can enjoy hiking in the mountains and take a dip in one of the many lakes. eg Lake Thun. - Frutigen also has an indoor and outdoor swimmingpool
