My partner and I loved our stay at Wetherlam – the cottage was cosy, well-equipped, and perfect for a peaceful getaway. The host was very friendly and welcoming, and her garden is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended!

Knittleton Annex

The place is beautiful and in a beautiful location nearby to many lovely walks and pubs. The only thing is the dogs were quite loud in the morning when they got excited! A lovely stay all the same!

Kings Head: 2 Bedroom Countryside Cottage

RobinRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a wonderful 3 nights in the Kings Head cottage. The lounge area is as stunning and unique as the pictures suggest! We chose a weekend that coincided with the tasting menu and Sunday lunch and would highly recommend both. The produce was local and lots from their stunning garden. The breakfasts were superb featuring fresh rhubarb from the garden and best pastry ever tried! Everyone was friendly and helpful and our dog was made to feel very welcome too! Enjoyed two local pubs called blacksmith’s arms and farmer’s arms on our other 2 evenings - both great. Enjoyed a long hike up from the hidden duddon valley which was a lovely quiet route to Dow Crag and coniston old man (only downside was the 30 min drive to our starting point). Local nice walks from the cottage included heathwaite fell and duddon sands.

Nan’s Cottage, South Lakeland District

AimeeRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We really struggled to find the cottage as the sat nav took us to two completely different places beforehand! At 8pm in the pouring rain, with two young children we were knocking on the door of another 3 The Row, Spark Bridge to find a worried Air BnBer thinking we'd been double booked! I tried to phone the number for the host listed on AirBnB but no response. I was surprised to have no return call later on to check there were no emergenices once they'd seen the missed calls! We only found the cottage by chance after driving round and round. Cottage was lovely, very cosy, everything you need is there. Garden is beautiful, yes communal but we only saw one other neighbour who was lovely and told us the history of the cottages. The river in the garden is amazing! Wish I'd read listing properly and seen it was pet friendly (my error) as it was either the pet hair or the plug in air fresheners that brought on my allergies! Overall we had a lovely stay to break up our journey to Scotland!

The Tractor House

We had a great stay at this lovely place. The highlight was the very sweet dog who greeted us on arrival, and we enjoyed watching the farm animals out of the window. The place itself is stunning inside, and the views are spectacular.

Serene hamlet on the edges of Coniston Water

Lovely house in beautiful location by Coniston Water. Brenda was very helpful & friendly sharing tips on places to go & nearby walks & providing maps, leaflets & guides as well as personal recommendations. She went out of her way to make me feel welcome & at home. I would definitely recommend staying here!

'SPRING GARDENS' Comfy Cottage (Dog Friendly)

TaibaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We found this cottage perfect to commute to other towns to explore. It was very accessible via road and had no difficulty in finding the cottage. This cottage had everything that we needed. We really enjoyed the fire place as two nights were very cold for the kids. We will be booking again when we visited ‘The Lakes’ again. Thank you to both Ellie and Gary.

Helen's place is an idyll for a nature lover like me. Very peaceful. I enjoyed the outdoor shower and garden very much. Thank you so much Helen, and Helen's Dad for the yummy fresh eggs. I'd love to come back.
