Abbeybank Lodge

This is a great place for a larger group that want some peace for a private celebration as we did. Downstairs bedroom was great for my Aunt who struggles with stairs. Plenty space for everyone in bedrooms. Lovely garden, beautiful village, great walks with stunning surroundings and lots of stuff to do around the area for all ages. Had everything we needed and was nice that there was a large selection of books, movies and plenty toys for the kids. Host was flexible with check in as we all arrived at different times and flexible for check out too. Facilities were as described and we wanted for nothing. Its been said that some decor could be updated but we thought it added to the character and charm of the property and the price was certainly fair. We had an issue with the water being a bit hot and the response was super quick. Great little stay and we all feel better for having a weekend in such peaceful surroundings.

Gullsway Holiday Accomodation

MaryRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Wonderful home for an extended family gathering. We were 7 adults, 2 girls and a Collie. Spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming, as you would expect. But in addition, the layout worked really well for us all. From our experience of other homes, a 5-bedroom home may not have sufficient communal living space but Gullsway does. Sharing meals, 9 can sit around the table and the lounge had comfy seating for us all. We stayed the week around New Year. In that time the weather was both dire and glorious, but the area has plenty for us all to do. Several visits to the Caerlaverock nature reserve and Castle, also Green/ Blue /Red trails at Ae and Mabie. Up to the summit of Criffel, including a swim /dip. My abiding memory will be at dawn, the changing views from the kitchen window down across the Nith estuary.

Stunning 2BR Apartment in Town Centre Location

MikeRating, 5 stars2 months ago
A week’s stay here in this really comfortable and well equipped flat. Very nicely furnished and everything working as it should. Peaceful surroundings (except for early morning seagulls!) with lots of free parking available as well as a reserved spot in the car park. We tended to use the street parking as there is a tree over of the reserved spot….. Very well located to get into the town with some good walks along the river. Easy to drive out to touring spots. We really enjoyed the castle at the head of the estuary and the boathouse restaurant on the way back to town. Flat was much more spacious than we expected and was very comfortable. Would happily return if we are back in the area.

Converted Stables - Scenic 'Courtyard Cottage'

LauraRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Just home from a beautiful stay at Gary’s place. The cottage has everything you need for a family stay from toys and games to a beer tap. Our toddler loved seeing the cows each morning, they would come so close to the fence. Gary was great, very clear and friendly communication. I loved the fresh flowers, such a nice touch that I’ve never seen at other places! Would love to stay again in the future.

Cozy, ideal location apartment

HarrietRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place was exactly what we needed for an overnight stop on the way up to the Highlands. Easy to find and check in, clean and tidy, comfy bed. We were pleasantly surprised by the local area, the park right outside was lovely with a great vibe at the pizzeria nearby. The apartment was quiet despite being right by a public car park, the bedroom being at the back helped. Our toddler found a box of toys in a cupboard - the fire engine and truck kept him occupied for ages! Only downside is the decor could do with some sprucing up, but if you're not fussy about that then this is a good place for a stopover. The bread & eggs in the fridge were a nice touch too.

The lodge was lovely, cosy and comfortable. Cool in the bedrooms even though the weather was hot outside. Perfectly clean on arrival and all the amenities as listed provided. Stayed for a wedding at nearby kinmount house, had a great few days!
