“I had a wonderful few days stay at Calim's place; it truly felt like a home from home. Centrally located, comfortable, beautifully decorated with small touches and kindnesses that really lifted this above your average rental. His recommendations for places to visit, eat and drink, or just take in the atmosphere helped make sure that my first trip to Edinburgh definitely won't be my last.”
Retreat to the deck of this sustainable getaway and gaze at the twinkling constellations under a cosy tartan blanket. AirShip 2 is an iconic, insulated aluminum pod designed by Roderick James with views of the Sound of Mull from dragonfly windows. Airship002 is comfortable, quirky and cool. It does not pretend to be a five star hotel. The reviews tell the story.
“Such a unique place to stay in a beautiful wild location. I feel rested and recharged after a peaceful two night stay. Even the weather didn’t spoil our trip as the airship is even more cosy in the wind and rain - there’s nothing like an afternoon in front of a wood burning stove with a glass of wine or two, some good music on the radio, good company and a sleeping dog curled up at your feet. Excellent - definitely recommend.”

“I don't even know where to start honestly. From the moment we arrived here after a hectic hellish few days of travel and hearing all the coronavirus chaos at home and feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious...this place was like arriving at a home away from home. Like that first big deep breath after coming to the surface . Sarah greeted us in the rain and led us through a tunnel of roses and vines like being led into something from a fairy tale and generously showed us around the cottage and was thoughtful and kind . We had trouble lighting the fire and Sarah graciously came over and helped us get it going even though it was quite late. Due to virus scare a lot of our plans were cancelled and sadly a lot of Sarah's guests had to cancel their stay which was sad but good for us in that we were able to stay an extra night...it was much needed. I didn't want to leave (ever really) The fire was perfect, the bed felt like sleeping in a feathery heavenly nest. The heated floors were phenomenal . The bathroom was clean and modern and the shower was hot and had amazing water pressure (I'm picky and it was above expectations) The location was so so wonderful ...20 min to city center and shopping . We walked in every day. Perfect bit of exercise to wake you up in the morning on the way to grab breakfast and coffee or walk off that last pint. Then there's the host. I feel like I cannot even put in to words how lovely she was. She was easy to get ahold of, fantastic to talk to, and during the height of all the crazy going on we were able to encourage each other and come along side each other . At one point one of us kind of felt a little warm and was getting nervous about being sick and she brought us a thermometer and kept checking in. luckily there was no sickness involved and Sarah was encouraging and kind and didn't feel like I was bothering her a bit. Truly this place was a safe haven in a really difficult scary time. I was ready to send for my kids and just move in. All this long winded answer to say.. if you want a place where you can feel safe , secure, as if you're at home , while simultaneously feeling as if youve walked into a fairy tale...do not hesitate to book this place. The only disappoinments we had were that we couldn't have stayed our whole time there and that we would've been able to come when the incredible gardens were in full bloom. We will most definitely tell everyone we know to stay here if visiting Edinburgh . And maybe someday in less scary worldly times come back again to enjoy this little slice of heaven. Cheers X”
