Located halfway up the steep Berkeley hillside in a quiet residential area. The space has amazing natural light with 4 skylights and garden facing windows. There is a patio deck with table and chairs to enjoy meals outdoors. Previously an art studio, now a simple detached cottage at the entrance of our property. Staying at Joy’s was wonderful. She is an excellent host and a kind human. We got to talk about some common interests and I felt welcomed since the first minute. She is responsive and pays attention to every detail. The room where I stayed was really comfortable and Joy offers full access to the kitchen. Additionally the place has a great location, close to public transportation, market, and some stores. I would recommend this place and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at Yvonne’s. Her place was so picturesque and welcoming and was perfect for our short stay. We both are Cal alumni and enjoy visiting; her spot is a perfect distance from campus on north side and very walkable. We loved strolling through and around the campus + surrounding areas and enjoyed a nice hike up to the Greek for a show. There is a ton of great cafes and restaurants all within very short walking distance of her spot, but it’s also secluded enough with some beautiful trees and greenery that makes it feel like a little hideaway. The bed and pillows were also super comfy and we slept like rocks there :) Parking was free and easy which is such a perk to have at any spot in Berkeley. We love coming back to visit Berkeley and her spot really helped make this trip a memorable one. Thank you Yvonne for all the instructions + help and for having us at your beautiful spot! 10/10 would recommend and would love to come back.
