House holiday rentals in Governor's Harbour

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hibiscus House. The beautiful blue of the ocean could be seen through the trees and there was a real sense of privacy. Listening to the waves crashing during the evening while sitting on the screened in porch was incredibly relaxing. The beach was a short walk from the house and was where we spent our late afternoons after exploring the island during the day. The house had a large stash of toiletries, bug spray, sunscreen, beach gear, and a few clothes items in select closets--which was wonderful considering our luggage got lost and took days to get to us. Lydia, the house's caretaker, came by to say hello and make sure we were comfortable...and we absolutely loved learning about the island and recommendations from her local perspective. I would absolutely love to stay here again if we make it back to Eleuthera.

Wonderful stay at Sugar Apple! The house is clean and spacious. Having the pool was nice at the end of the day! Close to many beaches and not far from governors harbour. Second time renting this home and won’t be our last!

We loved our stay at Deborah's home. It was private and quiet with a beautiful view of the Caribbean sea and lots of stars at night. The pool was super refreshing after a day in the ocean. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and we had plenty of room for our family of 4. There were so many good tips and recommendations in the information we were sent, and everything was printed out for us at the house. The power went out briefly (it can happen, Eleuthera is remote and rugged!), and there were flashlights at the ready at the house. Its a bit hard to find things on Eleuthera, and we made several wrong turns looking for her place, but it was mostly fatigue that caused our confusion. Once we got our bearings on the island we were able to navigate quite easily. You'll definitely need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get around the island - the caretaker he met us at the airport with a jeep. Bring your own snorkel equipment, some of stuff at the house is old and might not fit kids.

Words cannot describe how incredibly beautiful this home is. Private but easy to get to. Having the large pool and ocean access on property was awesome. I appreciated how responsive Dina and the property manager Anne were. The kitchen is stocked full of everything you might need. Comfortable rooms and nice having multiple bathrooms. Easy to get to Ten Bay Beach with the most gorgeous water I’ve seen. Recommend Island Farms, Tippys, and The Front Porch. Didn’t want to leave and definitely will be back!

Gorgeous - as always! Beautiful airy house with enough bedrooms (and bathrooms!!) to keep us out of each other's hair when needed. The pool! And ability to walk right out the yard and over to the beach. THE OUTDOOR bathroom and SHOWER- still my favorite thing about the house after multiple trips. It's just a PERFECT place to stay when you have 2+ people. Centrally located, private as can be while still right in the middle of it all. And Rachel is, as always, an impeccable host!

The pictures don't do justice to this home (light and beautiful) and its surroundings (paradise). There should be one of the view from the deck directly down to the ocean! :) Architecture is stunning. Full on views of the beach and tropical vegetation from every side. Two different work spaces with desks and views out the back. Kitchen is a little small if you're having a big group, but for two it was terrific. Everything worked. Fans in all the rooms! Great shower with fabulous water pressure. Loved the simplicity of the decor and having the beach to ourselves. BE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS (and maybe print them at home). VERY useful information. Contact Latoya for practical questions. She was able to get us a rental car when other companies said they had no vehicles left. Do get a 4WD. The high chassis is important for rutted roads if you go anywhere off the beaten track. We didn't plan to, but it happens! :)

Although a short stay, it was a great stay. We found the video for the beach super helpful and the rental provided all we needed.

We stayed a week. Check in was easy and precise, Walter is a friendly person who gave us lots of advice on the beaches and how to get around in general. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable. We perceived and experienced the authenticity of the place and the friendliness of the local people. Also 2 minutes walk from the beautiful beach of Tarpum Bay, we saw beautiful sunsets. It was a beautiful week. I recommend it and we will return.

Our stay in Eleuthera was absolutely incredible, and this Airbnb made it all the more special. The hosts truly thought of everything — from the little touches that made it feel like home to the thoughtful details that made our beach vacation effortless and family-friendly. The space was spotless, beautifully designed, and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our time together. It’s rare to find a place that balances comfort and style so well, especially one that works so seamlessly for families. We loved how close it was to the beach and how easy it was to settle in and just be. And the view at night? Unbelievable. Easily the most stunning nighttime view I’ve ever seen — peaceful, starlit skies over the ocean that felt like something out of a dream. We left with full hearts and beautiful memories. If you’re thinking about booking — do it. This place is a gem, and we can’t wait to come back.

Our stay at Shutter Box was definitely worth it! The place looks just like the photos and is extremely clean and welcoming. All of the appliances work very well and the bed is extremely comfortable. We were also impressed with small details like the quality of linens and towels. Anke and Alex were very accommodating to personal requests and always answered in a timely fashion. I highly recommend staying here.

Perfect! Cobalt Cottage was everything and more! We loved every moment we spent inside the cottage. Our kids enjoyed catching hermit crabs and playing on the slide / swings! The screened in porch was the place to be, and was so peaceful. Adrian, the property manager, was so helpful and made sure we knew where to go and how to get there; he even help set up a boating experience, it was amazing. It was nice having him close by, always ready to help if needed! We felt safe the entire time, and everyone on the island were so nice. We used Chad and Hope’s guide a lot, it was so helpful and informative. Everything we did was based on this guide and it did not steer us wrong! We will definitely be back; our kids (4, 7, 10) were so sad to leave, so were we!

We absolutely loved our stay at On The Rocks for our family vacation with a 1 year old. The house is decorated beautifully and was super clean with fresh bedding. If you're looking for a place to truly unplug, this is the place. The view is stunning and the local beach is a short walk away. We couldn't believe we got an entire beach to ourselves! The house was well stocked and had everything we needed, which made it easy to pack light. It is definitely remote – which is a amazing if you're looking for peace and quiet, but might not be for you if you're looking for something close to hustle and bustle of a town. The road in from the highway took about 10 minutes to get to the house. There are a handful of restaurants under a 20 minute drive and we enjoyed meals at El Karaka, Big Daddy's, and The Cove. We also did day trips to Harbour Island and French Leave beach (would recommend Tippy's as a place to spend an afternoon). We'd highly recommend On the Rocks or Due South!

We miss it already! What a gorgeous home, that’s clean and homely with a lovely open living space. It’s less than a 5 minute drive from the most beautiful (and child friendly) beach, Rainbow Bay. In terms of convenience stores, you’re not walking distance to anything but easy to jump in the car and in 10 minutes you have a few options on Queens Highway. Lauren the host couldn’t have been more helpful and any questions we had she was really quick to respond. We would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Sonshore Cottage! The house was clean, had a beautiful esthetic, extra beach towels were in the closet for our use, a soft cooler and plenty of ice packs were available for our beach outings, and more! Sarah was also a very responsive host providing us with a lot of local recommendations and help if we had any questions. We will definitely stay at Sonshore Cottage again when we return to Eleuthera!

Jolly Mon was more wonderful than we could have imagined. The house is absolutely beautiful and the scenery outside is heavenly. Plenty of space for our group of 2 couples. Very comfortable upscale furnishings and a perfectly stocked kitchen. AC was very comfortable however leaving the windows open was great for hearing the ocean waves. The decks for enjoying the beautiful scenery were fabulous. Comfortable deck chairs, beach lounge chairs, etc. The beach was perfect with crystal clear waters and soft pink sand just outside the door! Jane was fantastic with communications, answering questions quickly and providing helpful advice. We tried many local restaurants which were all delicious and the people on the island are incredibly friendly. This was our 3rd visit to Eleuthera and we can't wait for our next. Jolly Mon will be a top choice in places to stay.

I've been on the island many times the location of this house is actually amazing just 10 minutes from the central airport and 5 minutes to the best restaurants in town, the view of the water is just spectacular. Private Road real quiet and peaceful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Baha Mara. It was everything we had hoped for and more. The house itself is spacious and light-filled, well appointed and equipped, with lovely art and nice touches throughout. Comfortable beds and living room space, great kitchen for cooking, large porch for sitting out. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the day beds at water's edge, as well as exploring the tide line and in the water on the SUPs and with snorkels. This was our first visit to Eleuthera, and we found Baha Mara to be perfectly located to venture out to various villages, beaches, restaurants and grocery options not too far from the house. We discovered on our first day that the closest eastside beach, Islandia, is closed to the public pending a sale of the surrounding 466+ acres (!), so we explored a handful of the myriad sandy stretches up and down the coast. We only wished that we had more days to spend and that we had booked a day out on the boat with John/Big Mac Fishing. Next time!

Blue Moon was an absolutely amazing right on the Beach at Gaulding Cay Beach. There are no other rentals directly on the beach here. The water was amazing crystal clear just a few steps through the coconut tree. (Not many bugs) We used the SUP and double kayak one afternoon. And everyday we snorkeled the rock everyday. Hanging out listening to the water and coconut trees in a hammock was extremely relaxing. The house has loads of books and a great collection of art. Daddy Joes was just a short walk down the road. Gregory town is just a 4 minute ride in the car. We are looking forward to our next stay. I am dreaming about that beach and hammock!!

We had a wonderful stay at "Island Time"! The area is absolutely stunning and the house was everything that we expected. Any issues we had were seen to immediately. We always felt well cared for, and that all of our needs were met. Mellissa's emails were so warm and friendly. It is so obvious that she loves this home and Eleuthera, and we can absolutely see why. Shawne really went above and beyond to help us while we were on the island. You have our extreme gratitude and we are hoping that Eleuthera will one day be home , too!

Just a fantastic home in a beautiful part of the island. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you may need, and there are so many areas to spread out and activities to keep you busy that you will never get bored. Dee was excellent at helping us obtain a rental car, as well as introducing us to Horatio who made us a wonderful meal one night. While we didn’t get to explore as much of Eleuthera as we had anticipated, we were able to see many spectacular beaches within a 20-30 min drive in either direction. We’re already planning our trip back!

We had a wonderful stay at Angelika’s place. We had some travel plans change and Angelika was very flexible and accommodating. Early checkin was possible due to the travel changes. There was a beautiful welcome basket on arrival. The views of the Caribbean were stunning and the small cove in front of the Airbnb is a quick 2 minute walk down the hill. Wonderful snorkeling right there. The Airbnb was spotless, well designed, and felt like home. The house has everything you need and more like washer/dryer, well equipped kitchen, coolers, beach towels and extra towels, makeup towels, good A/C, and bath robes to name a few and the list goes on. Angelika was very responsive and had excellent recommendations on what to see, restaurants nearby, and beaches to visit. The roads are a little rough on Eleuthera, but the untouched gorgeous remote beaches are worth it. Very quiet and private place perfect for a relaxing beach vacation. Water pressure was a bit low, but always had good hot water.
