House holiday rentals in Greatstone

This is the second time we have stayed at Corrina’s holiday home and once again we found it to be squeaky clean, very well equipped, peaceful and a great location. The garden is home to a family of foxes, who were so confident, that they sunbathed on the lawn whilst we were sitting on the veranda. Corrina made us aware of check in details in very good time and left a number just in case we needed assistance, which I’m happy to say we didn’t need. The surrounding area is so lush and green, this time of year, and there is always plenty of interesting things to do nearby. We will visit again next year, but hopefully for longer this time. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay here, Nick was an excellent host, greeted us on arrival and very helpful with local info. Nick responded almost immediately to messages and had the pool ready for us to use as and when we requested. The kids had so much fun in the pool, the floats and toys left out to use were an added bonus! House was spotless and perfectly equipped. Would definitely Recommend and would happily return. We enjoyed a 3 day mini break at the Calf Shed cottage with our 2 children and dog. The cottage itself was nice with open plan kitchen and comfy seating area, and a private garden area which was great for the kids and dog. A big bonus was the heated pool with stunning views. The weather was not great but the heated pool meant we could still use it, which is a short walk from the cottage. The kids also enjoyed the trampoline and table tennis. The main barn was not rented during our stay which meant we had sole use of the pool and play equipment. There was no welcome pack/booklet however the host Alison was quick to respond to questions (wifi password, bin locations, etc). Other comments is the double bed was actually 2 single beds which the kids commandeered and signs of wear and tear here and there. However overall a pleasant trip.

We absolutely loved our stay and will be booking again. The space was clean, warm and very spacious up and downstairs. The design and decor was on another level. We couldn’t get over the beautiful chandelier. We were greeted with fruits and milk on arrival in the large kitchen. Ahead of our journey we were given clear directions to the property. Access was easy and there were clear instructions for the sauna, pool etc. We used the sauna daily. It’s was huge and looked brand new. We were be able to watch the kids swim in the pool from the sauna. The kids absolutely loved the pool and took every opportunity day and night to swim. It really was a bonus to have our own pool. 5 of us stayed for a week and there was enough space in the fridge and freezer for all of our food. I have already recommended the space to my friends.

Absolutely lovely place to spend a night - from feeding the fish to a quick round of pool, and of course the brilliant facilities on the patio, which couldn't be simpler to use thanks to the helpful instructions. Everything is set up to provide optimum convenience and a warm welcome (like the plentiful fire/BBQ supplies and the eggs and marmalade from Jane's hens, which were both fantastic, so kind!) Jane herself is a wonderful host, and my partner and I highly recommend this listing. Thank you!

I stayed for my 30th birthday celebrations and had the best time ever. This place was perfect! the decor, the location, the surroundings and most importantly Karen and her husband was so friendly and lovely and ensured I had a special birthday. I’ve stayed at Airbnb’s before and I’ve never had a host as lovely as Karen was, the perfect host we could have wish for. The swimming pool was amazing and me and my family had a wonderful time enjoying it in the sun with a BBQ. The cottage was spotless and a welcome hamper was provided and every little detail was perfect. The garden area was beautiful through out the day and so peaceful and relaxing. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough, it was truly perfect and I will definitely be staying again and recommending to everyone I know! Thank you again for making it such a special birthday x

This was our second visit to the Lighthouse and it still is an amazing place, from the panoramic sea views to a lovely warm inviting home. A dip in the pool before breakfast, sitting with a coffee watching the seascape, as far as Essex and beyond, sunsets and so much more. I will make the same comment as I did last, this goes for the whole of our party across 3 generations and the dogs, the only bad thing about the Lighthouse is having to leave. Hopefully this will not be our last visit.

This house has absolutely everything you could ever want or need. Swimming pool is great and heated to a perfect temp for the kids. House is enormous and every little thing seems to have been thought of by the hosts including extras such as dressing gowns for all guests, soap, shampoo and a hairdryer in every room. Location is right on the coast with great views out the front of the sea. Garden is lovely. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks Alan and Bill

We had a lovely stay at Ursula's home over a sunny weekend in Folkestone. the house was immaculate and Ursula kitted it out with everything we needed for a really comfortable stay including providing stair gates, highchair etc for my my friend's 1 year old. A great place to stay for families or groups of friends, would recommend!

We had a lovely four night stay with our kids. The gardens were very special and we especially enjoyed the outside BBQ and dining space. The house is in a wonderful setting - very peaceful and right next to the train station to Rye and Hastings (ideal if you don't love country roads).

The house is stunning, the layout is perfect and was spotless. Level 1 kitchen/lounge/outdoor balcony. Level 2 bedrooms. Level 3 attic room with chairs, binoculars and great views (each level has great views!) We were a group of 4 although if 8, the size and layout would have allowed us to have our own space. The bedrooms, 2 with en-suites, a large family bathroom and all with sea views. Watching sunrise over the ocean and the dawn morning bird chorus transported me to tropical holiday vibes. The house overlooks gardens, bluebells and iris were in bloom. Down the house steps and after about 50 metres you are on the sea wall/beach. Jo and Andrew have been great hosts, great communication prior to our trip and provided a welcome pack of really useful local information, thank you for the snacks and wine. Relaxing on the balcony, watching the ocean and world go by was the perfect way to start the trip. If I ever return to Hastings, first stop would be to try and rebook this AirBNB

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - location suitable for our dog as very peaceful rural setting. The kitchen was also well stocked and the lounge comfortable. Also ideally situated to visit local National Trust properties in this part of Kent - information regarding local pubs shops etc very helpful - we would consider returning .

The House was perfect for a relaxing weekend of family time. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with all the equipment we needed for a large family that enjoys cooking, eating, and drinking well. We felt right at home and had a very special, relaxing and fun few days.

A lovely charming house, extremely well thought for a rental, premium service in all bedrooms. The four bedrooms allow to have 2 families comfortably installed. Would definitely recommend

The most wonderful place to stay! Whitstable is the most wonderful place for a trip or holiday and the house is deservedly iconic. Perfectly situated directly on the beach, spacious with beautiful wrap around gardens, it was the most wonderful holiday spot. Katrina and Rupert were wonderful hosts, friendly, accommodating and informative. The house has everything you could want for the perfect, comfortable stay for a family or group. We cannot wait to return already!

Can’t fault this lovely house. For what we wanted it was perfect, good location, very clean, well equipped and gorgeous views. Great communication when I had a problem with the key (my fault entirely!). We would love to stay again. A slightly later check out would be nice but can’t complain. However following checkout the constant emails and texts from Air BnB to leave a review is just irritating. I’m more than happy to leave a review but I feel like I’ve been bombarded!

Really nice place - in the centre of Rye but still very put and peaceful. Comfortable and charming.

This is our second time staying here and we love it because it’s so close to the gorgeous - which our dog loves! The guide produced by the hosts is so handy too - we will definitely be back!

The house is very well presented - high quality furnishings, accessories, bed linen etc with everything we needed. It’s very homely and comfortable. Aisling communicated really well and answered the few questions we had quickly. It was perfect for us - couple with a small dog. Easy access to the enclosed garden and parking right out the front. Lots to do in Rye Harbour itself - the pub is great for food and a few drinks. Café by the RLNI is perfect for morning coffee and a bacon sandwich / breakfast. Easy walk to the Discovery Centre and walks along the shore. Rye town is more of a walk but there is a bus. Local shop well stocked for essentials. We will definitely be back to stay here again and would absolutely recommend Aisling as a great host.

This is without doubt the most stunning place I have ever stayed in through Airbnb. The cottage has recently been renovated to an extremely high standard and every detail is perfect and has been carefully thought through. It is comfortable and luxurious but still homely and stocked with everything you need for a home from home stay! It is also in a fantastic location - only a 2 minute walk to the seafront and the town centre. I could not recommend it more highly. Belinda was also extremely helpful and welcoming and very responsive to messages. 11/10! We will definitely be back! thank you Belinda and Thierry.

Shell House worked perfectly for my birthday celebration. Really well equipped and comfortable, with a lovely outdoor space too. All of the bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. There was lots of seating and we could all eat together round the table. There was loads of crockery etc. Parking was a bit tight because of other parking on the road, but we managed. Being at the beach in two minutes was great. Finding the house was slightly tricky because the tiny track down the side of the Post Office doesn’t look like you can drive down it - you can!

Whytecroft was absolutely beautiful!! The place was pristine, the amenities were perfect and it looks exactly like the beach hideaway we were looking for!! The outside area was amazing and perfect for big families or friends! We had a furry friend and the garden was completely contained! The ping pong table was an absolute favorite! The upstairs bedroom was absolutely beautiful and the balcony was really cool! Thank you so so much for having us!!!

Angela’s place was absolutely incredible. One of the most beautiful Airbnb I had stayed at. Perfectly located on Rye’s Main Street, near shops and restaurants. The inside is beautiful, tastefully decorated, and extremely comfortable. Everything was spotless. The claw foot tub in each room was the perfect way to relax after a day of walking around Rye. Angela was extremely accommodating, letting us check in early at no cost. I already dream of coming back!

This property had everything that 5 mums and 6 kids needed for a relaxing long weekend away. Perfect location for early morning beach walks and exploring the village. No need to drive anywhere - we jumped on the vintage railway line to Dungeness for lunch and dolphin and seal spotting. Joanna was the perfect host, very responsive and accommodating - thak you for everything. 10/10.
