Smoking-friendly holiday rentals in Guimaraes

An outstanding Airbnb in a beautiful location. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, with the added bonus of several different places to sit in the garden and enjoy the spectacular views of the Douro valley. But it's the hosts that make this place so special. Casimiro and his son Manuel represent what Airbnb is all about; they personally welcomed us, offering lots of recommendations for places to visit and local restaurants, but were never intrusive. Casimiro's wife had prepared a tray of 'entradas' - a Portuguese starter of cured meats, cheeses, bread and olives - plus a bottle of local wine. A couple of days later Casimiro appeared with an huge bowl of cherries from their own orchard. This Airbnb wasn't just somewhere to stay for a few nights, but an experience to be treasured.

I stayed at Miguel’s flat for 5 nights and it was fantastic. It is in a convenient location. Very quiet but also close to the historic centre (20 minute walk downhill). The amenities were excellent and if you want to eat in there is a supermarket less than 5 minutes away with everything provided. Miguel was super helpful as a host and gave us great recommendations for the local area as well as for Porto as a whole. Every room was spacious and the showering facilities were excellent. I would highly recommend staying here if you are going to Porto!

Really nice place to stay

Great apartment 1 minute walk to the train station and a major bus stop. Ana is a great host and has a great place for a beer and to meet new friends along the way. Had hostel vibes with the amount of *optional* interaction we had with some locals and friends of Ana’s without having to share a bathroom or anything else with anyone else. We would definitely book Ana’s place again if we ever make it back to Porto.

Andre is incredibly kind and helpful. We got lost getting to the Airbnb from the airport and he was quick to respond with clear directions to use. The location is great. It’s right beside a great cafe, in front of a metro stop, and close to everything we wanted to walk to.

Very nice welcome from the host, he was waiting for us in front of the apartment when we arrived. 5 mins walk from the metro that leads directly to the most beautiful tourist attractions of Porto. Street parking available. Small detail, no fan so in the summer it is very very hot since there is no air conditioning. Beautiful large terrace at the back Thanks for the stay.

The accommodation is perfectly located 2 steps from a metro station, the center of Porto is also accessible on foot with a little more patience There are very close and very convenient stores Everything is as in the photos, everything was very clean and it's great value for money given the location, very convenient and nicely decorated accommodation The only negative points we found would be that the water flow is quite low around noon, but not during the other hours of the day, and also that the kitchen would lack some utensils (there is a frying pan and a saucepan) which did not bother us too much The air conditioning in the room works well It's very nice to eat on the terrace, which is a real plus! Note that on arrival a small bottle of port was waiting for us, which was very nice, thank you! We highly recommend it to discover Porto

One-week stay in Porto in André's apartment where we found everything we needed. The apartment is very clean, the bedding comfortable. You shouldn't be afraid to climb the 4 steep floors, but when we arrived, André kindly carried our suitcase up. He also offers a list of restaurants, nice bars and is available for any questions regarding a stay in Porto. In short, a very good place.

Joana's house was exactly what we needed, 4 adult couples from the family, each from a different part of the world. The house is wonderfully equipped Designed in an inviting rustic style and the garden is well maintained The property is exactly as shown in the pictures. It was well worth it!

Beautifully furnished, clean house equipped with everything you need. The location is extremely quiet, so you have the feeling of being the only house in the area. The complex is very well maintained and the pool is large enough for swimming. Communication with Carla is uncomplicated and friendly, we always had the feeling that we could turn to her in case of problems. We enjoyed every second and there is nothing to complain about. If we choose Portugal again, the accommodation and Carla will be our first choice.

Amazing property and view. We had a terrific time. The property worked great for our group. Best sunset! Marco and his crew were extremely responsive. Driving in the Douro Valley is not for the faint of heart. We had a ball!

Ideal accommodation for a family with children, 3 separate bedrooms, including one with a bathroom. Anabela's hospitality is fantastic, and our host is very responsive to our needs. Lots of toys for the little ones, we'll be back with pleasure.

Diogo was an exemplary host: always available, attentive and genuinely concerned with our well-being. Your kindness made the experience even more special. The space is simply breathtaking, perfect for resting the mind and recharging the soul. And as if the surrounding nature and the tranquility of the place were not enough, we had charming visitors: adorable kittens that appeared unexpectedly and immediately won our hearts. They were a sweet and caring asset, which gave even more life to our stay. We recommend it with our eyes closed — and with our hearts full.

excellent stay, only issue was with sleeping as the double bed mattress had plastic wrapping which can be noisy. no washing machine. Definitely would stay again.

Manuel and Rosaria are adorable and very considerate people, who anticipate the possible needs of the tenants of the cottage. It was very easy for us to communicate with them despite the language barrier. Upon arrival, we were able to taste Portuguese specialties. The cottage is very well equipped, very clean and very well located for visiting the north of Portugal. The property is beautiful, with different spaces, garden, pool, vineyards and animals. I would highly recommend this rental. Thank you very much to Manuel and Rosaria for hosting us.

This place was an intermission for us and it was perfect! The balcony was peaceful, the surrounding area was quiet compared to being in the heart of Porto which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and we could not be more thankful! Thank you. Walking distance from bus stop!

Rosario is a great host. The place is clean and well equipped. In addition, the location is great: very close to the beach and good restaurants. I only can recommend it. Will certainly return.

We were welcomed very well upon arrival, the accommodation is well arranged and everything you need is on site in the kitchen and in the bathroom. The apartment is less than 10 minutes walk from the ocean as well as a quarter of an hour from shops. We had a lovely stay in Esposende.

The apartment is lovely and spacious. Has everything you need. The town is lovely, and the people in it are very friendly. The highlights were the Irish pub right next door and the blue hut on the beach which had amazing live music. The beach was very quiet and peaceful. This was a great deal!

Hello André, Thank you for everything. The apartment is very good, it has a very spacious terrace, although the views are not very good you can only see four rolls. Very good detail to leave all apps and games installed on TV, they were very helpful!. another detail to note are the good local buns and desserts, very rich. On the other hand there was no good night or daytime environment, whom I want to cheat (well some Darth Vader out there). Another thing to improve is the modernization of the front door. Overall, chilling, chilling in the miling.

Amazing host and base to explore nearby Porto! Luiz was extremely helpful with tips regarding restaurants, sites, and nearby day trips. He went out of his way to make sure we were finding everything useful in the city and for anything we needed in the apartment he was a quick call away. The apartment was clean and in a great location and the building has great amenities including parking, pool, gym squash, pool etc. Would definitely recommend if traveling to Porto!
