Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Hardin County

So, needless to say the property is in the center of the middle of nowhere, but it is absolutely perfect to get away with some peace and quiet. We loved it and you will too. We would definitely stay again.

This is a very special place! It is a remarkable home in a beautiful place. It's a small town but some good shops all within walking distance.

What a beautiful space! We had a great stay. The kids got to fish, the doggie got to swim and we all played bags. This was the perfect location for our summer kick off. We hiked Mil Branch Trail and Gardens of the gods. The drive to both weren't terrible from the cabin. We'd definitely stay again.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Mansion! Tony and his wife were very attentive to our needs and we were very comfortable during our stay. The mansion and interior decor are fascinating and create a unique and timeless environment; I really felt I had gone back in time many decades; this was such a welcome respite from my life in California. We will certainly always try and book the Mansion for our annual trips to Southern Illinois. I highly recommend the property.

My husband & I enjoyed our stay at Kennedy’s Place. The hosts are super nice & friendly! Rooms are large & appliances are updated! The house is decorated with historic & cute pictures, along with a beautiful picture of Garden of the Gods. Antiques decorate the home, which I love! The backyard is huge & my husband & our dog spent many hours sitting outside & relaxing next to a fire pit. I highly recommend staying at Kennedy’s place! And if you are looking for restaurant recommendations, Morello’s has scrumptious lunch & dinner entries & Mackie’s Pizza has been a favorite of locals. You can even get apples on your pizza! It is delicious!

We loved our stay at Perkins Place. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The grounds are beautiful aand tranquil.

We’ve been staying here for the last 3 years and it’s been wonderful. It feels like our own place. The host response quickly with any questions we have had. If you’re looking for nice clean place, peace, and quiet this is the place to stay! Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful scenery! Was great to have a campfire and watch the river. Only advice is to stop for supplies and food prior to getting there. Closest little town/ restaurants are 15 minutes away. Highly recommend Diver Down restaurant in Golconda

Matt’s place was perfect for our one night stay! The view was unbeatable.. river views from inside.. the space itself was super clean and spacious. Matt communicated multiple times before check in and made sure I had all the info I needed beforehand. Dale was there to help maintain the space and was super helpful and welcoming as well. I would definitely return!

This is a great location for a great price! Wi-Fi and cell reception was spotty but we sort of expected that for the location. The place is clean and has everything you need to make meals. The view off the back deck was awesome, so cool to look at the Ohio river and see Kentucky on the other side. I would definitely stay again but I would bring food to cook at this place as there was not an open grocery store in Golconda besides Dollar General. We drove to Cave in Rock to eat at their outdoor restaurant and it was not worth it. Should have just stayed and enjoyed the views at Matt’s place. I would have also brought more bedding as the bedding was clean but basic sheets and blanket. Really nice large jacuzzi bath tub and single shower. Everything you need with easy check in/out and great communication from the host. We stopped at the main welcome building and the lady working was very nice and helpful with suggestions/answering questions.

Really great place for a large group that wants to stay together. Very responsive on working out the kinks!

Needed a place last minute due to baseball games getting weather rescheduled….perfect for the price!

It was good for what we wanted to do. No service but that was great so we could enjoy family time without interruption.

We loved our stay here, more spacious than it looks on the outside. Hot tub worked great, firepit was stocked and the inside was pristine. The host is very communicative and helpful, the little shop right next door has great ice cream! Only a couple mins from Garden of the Gods’ Indian Point & Observation Trail.

Exactly what we were looking for! The house was perfect for a get away weekend. It was so peaceful. We loved the hot tub and the beds were comfortable. Elizabeth was a great host always responsive!

Shawnee Forest Cabins were a great place to stay after hiking the area all day. The cabin was cozy, easy to find, and very clean upon our arrival. The hosts were very friendly and ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. If you utilize the hot tub, make sure you look up and appreciate all the stars!!!

Steve and Debbie were great hosts! We loved our get away to their place. The local recommendations were amazing and the hot tub was just what we needed at the end of our long day of hiking. The wine tasting was a great experience and the fresh eggs were our breakfast both mornings. We also loved that we could bring our dogs. 10/10 will recommend!
