Monthly Rentals in Hardscrabble Mountain

My family had a fabulous time at Israel’s place. The getaway was just what we needed to bond and recharge. Using the hot tub under the stars with snow on the ground was a truly magical experience. We spent our lazy days sitting by the fire, playing board games and cooking as a family. We did take a trip to Lake Willoughby for a hike. It was amazing. It reminded me of a Norwegian fjord. Five stars all around. I would definitely recommend and would rent again in the future from Israel.

Dayna is a great host and the cabin is a worthwhile trip!! It is so affordable and the cost is well worth the views outside the cabin. It’s a cozy getaway and the perfect vacation spot for two. Highly recommend!

This was our second day with Colleen. We were more than pleased. In our estimation, because we have stayed near Burke Mountain more than a few times, Colleen‘s place was by far the best place we have ever been to. We have already rescheduled visit number three. I really don’t think I can say enough to do it justice.

My husband and I booked a last-minute overnight to attend the opening of a new exhibit at the nearby (& amazing) Museum of Everyday Life (I had contributed an item to "STAINS"). Terry's place is normally a 2-night minimum but when I asked I was told 1 night would be fine. The morning of arrival I also asked if we could check in at 1pm instead of 4pm, and Terry responded with of course, again very kind and flexible. The land/landscaping on this hilltop is majestic, the views spectacular, the quiet so peaceful, and the apt is HUGE—lovely/homey, extremely clean, comfortable, with every detail & possible need having been thought out, including the cold, clean VT water in the fridge. Terry's homebaked "Mom's Banana Bread" (such a sweet gift) may have even helped me convince my husband that banana bread is better with nuts in it!!! Thank you, Terry, we'll be back for a longer visit, and hopefully with sun!
